Britons find holiday hoopla

Well, so much for a stiff upper lip and all of that. The New York Times reports that some Brits really know how to live it up on vacation, so to speak. If you call intoxication, wild parties, carnal flings and blowing your chips a fun time, then there you have it. Since Americans are so often tagged as being "ugly" abroad, it's good to know we have some bloody company.

Some resorts in Europe, particularly Greece, are using officers to patrol tourist areas to keep the peace. And officials blame tour operators who promote travel packages that promise a party atmosphere at a bargain price. One guy in the story confessed to a night of heavy drinking, including 5 beers, 5 vodka-lime drinks, 6 cocktails including absinthe, ouzo, tequila and Baileys plus 5 cans of Stella Artois, all so he could score a one-night stand. I didn't even know Stella came in a can. Somebody get that guy a glass. And some class.
