WWE TLC pay-per-view moved to Baltimore
There's good news for WWE fans in Baltimore.
WWE's TLC pay-per-view, which takes place on Dec. 18, has been moved to Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena, according to pwinsider.com. The event was originally scheduled to take place in Philadelphia.
This will be the first time that Baltimore has hosted a WWE pay-per-view in consecutive years. Extreme Rules was held here in April 2010.
TLC will be the fifth pay-per-view in Baltimore since 2003.

Kev considering how bad that arena is for a Top 30 media market having that many PPV`s is not bad. We get a new arena down their iam sure that the Mcmahon arena people would list Baltimore more often as a PPV site.

I wonder if this was because of the hot crowd Raw had when it was here last Monday.

Kevin, any reason it was moved from Philly?
RESPONSE FROM KE: I don't know the reason.

Last year's TLC was a terrific PPV. "WWE is sinking" obviously has an agenda, and is full of s**t.

I suspect that the reason for the move from Philly may be the Wells Fargo Arena's new policy on pre-sale tix being held thru Comcast's website first before Ticketmaster, which may have rubbed some business partners the wrong way for various reasons (including Ticketmaster itself). This is pure speculation on my part, of course, but it would also explain why so few of WWE's live events are touring in venues across the nation that were previously NOT a part of Comcast. I haven't researched it further so, again, this is just me.

@wwe is sinking - euh, why do you find TLC a fail? All and I repeat all matches were either showstopping calibers or great matches. I found it even better than this year's WM.
And Kev, well, good for you then. Hopefully, you'll get it worth your money.

the Arena hosted 5 WWE ppv's: 1994 King of the Ring, No Mercy in 2003, No Way Out in 2006, Backlash in 2008, and Extreme Rules in 2010

Assuming the NFL season proceeds as scheduled, the Ravens will be playing the Chargers on Dec 18 @ 8:20pm* on NBC.
*subject to flex schedule

The only bad thing about this is the Ravens play at the Chargers on Sunday Night Football that evening.

I'm willing to bet there was a Union problem in Philly. I hear its next to impossible to get TV work done in that city.

Perhaps it has to ROH being on TV and the WWE doesn't want to promote it ala ECW back in the day.

Awesome! I love going to shows at the arena (I still call it the Baltimore Civic Center!).
Baltimore has such rich history when it comes to wrestling. A kid growing up in the 80s, the NWA seemed to have shows every month- Flair, Andersons, Blanchard, Ronnie Garven, Road Warriors, Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express, Dusty- if only I was old enough to drive during those years!
Baltimore, and Maryland in general, was always a great place to live for wrestling because the WWF and NWA both did shows in the same arena- very rare in a time when the territories were the norm.
The FIrst Mariner Arena has housed some of the most legendary wrestlers, as well as matches- the spirit of pro-wrestling is in the air. I still go with my father- and I'm 37 years old! :-)

You're lucky.
With Punk v Cena and Christian v Orton + 2 mitb matches this looks like PPV of the year to me.

In response to a comment by Franchise, the Wells Fargo Center has been owned and operated by Comcast since it was built in the mid 90's. Your comment may be true, but I just wanted to let people know Comcast has owned that building for years and the WWE has performed there many times. It could be a new policy maybe? I don't know either.

Uhh. MY brother and I were saving money since it was announced for ringside tix! aw.

Wasn't the WWF headquarters in Baltimore until the late 80's/early 90's?
RESPONSE FROM KE: No, but a lot of the TV production was done here

I've never been to a WWE event before in my life, but now that I've recently gotten back into being a fan again for the first time since I was a kid, I actually have money to attend this. Can't wait!
...when in the world are tix going on sale for this?
