Results of "Macho Man" Randy Savage's autopsy
Heart disease was the cause of death for "Macho Man" Randy Savage, according to a Tampa Bay medical examiner, the Associated Press reported.
Savage, who lost consciousness while driving his car and slammed into a tree on May 20, suffered only minor injuries from the crash. The autopsy report revealed that Savage, 58, had an enlarged heart and severe blocking of his coronary arteries.
He had small traces of alcohol and hydrocodone in his system, according to the toxicology report, but it was determined that they were not a factor in his death.

The elephant in the room has been anabolic steroid and possibly human growth hormone (HGH) abuse, as Savage was a pretty small guy who got bigger and bigger over the years (with the exception of his last few years in the WWF when they were seriously testing and he started wrestling in a shirt) before suddenly shrinking several years ago. He changed so much to the point that he refused to take his jacket off during his brief TNA run, and the local rumor was that his doctor told him to get off steroids immediately.
At the very least, it's sort of a foregone conclusion that the medical examiner found an enlarged heart. A enlarged heart (often with left ventricular hypertrophy, thickening of the muscle in the lower-left chamber of the heart) has been a common finding in wrestlers who used steroids and/or HGH, with left ventricular hypertrophy often being a contributing cause of death.

Sad as it is, the fact that Mach died of "somewhat" normal causes will probably never be given that much run because it's nowhere near as spectacular as drug or steroid abuse.

Doesn't matter, the damage was done from years of abuse in the past.
