Report: Former WWE star Shane Helms being investigated on suspicion of DUI after motorcycle accident
As most wrestling fans are probably aware, former WWE star Shane “Hurricane” Helms and his girlfriend both suffered multiple broken bones and other injuries in a motorcycle accident in North Carolina on Thursday.
Now, TMZ.com is reporting that police are investigating whether Helms was driving under the influence.
Quoting from a police report, TMZ said that a witness told police that he was hanging out with Helms at a restaurant minutes before the crash and “was sure” Helms had been drinking there.
Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reported that officers took a blood sample from Helms at the hospital to check his blood alcohol level at the time of the crash and are awaiting the results.
No charges have been filed at this time.

Most wrestling fans are probably aware... but most wrestling fans probably couldn't care less. He's a nobody! A has-been! Superpowers, my foot... :)

I think you should have a little more concern for human life.
RESPONSE FROM KE: What?

Just keeping score...how many of the Hardyz North Carolina contingent are left that haven't experienced some sort of emotional and/or drug problems? I can't remember if Shannon Moore has been arrested, put in a hospital or just fired from a company for threatening his ex-girlfriend and her new beau or not.
Also, the thing that interests me most---the carp at TMZ are actually so comprehensive that they file stories about Hurricane Helms? Is that generally odd to anyone else?

I see where someone at a recent convention was attempting to collect $ for hospital bills.....if this DUI thing is true, then the state of NC can spring for it as this idiot can go to jail for a LONG time. If you have ever spent 2 minutes around this guy, you know he is an egotistical doofus, who enjoys running others down (HBK) and at the same time elevating himself and his friends (ie: Matt/Jeff Hardy)....while I don't wish bad things on people-its interesting to note that usually the haters get what they deserve in the end....as JBL once said, "Standback, there is a Ass-Whooping coming thru...."

Well, I did said most wrestling fans probably couldn't care less... but even so I didn't expect nobody else would bother commenting on this.

Whoops, apparently I wasn't alone in posting about this. Guess you were just slow to update the comments, Kevin. ;)
I think Matthew Champion's comment for me. Which would also be rather silly. What, indeed. If, on the other hand, he was directing that comment to Shane Helms himself, then that would at least be an appropriate target. Still rather silly since Helms probably wouldn't be reading this. Or maybe he would. This Ring Posts blog has to be a little famous among wrestlers...
RESPONSE FROM KE: How often Shane reads it I don't know, but he and I go back about 11 years, and he did put Ring Posts over on his web show several months ago. He also told the rather embarrassing story (for me) of how I got lost taking him to the airport in my own hometown.
