Video: Former WWE star Chris Jericho on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
After watching former WWE star Chris Jericho’s debut on the season premiere of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night, I can definitely say that he’s no Stacy Keibler, but he isn’t Master P either.
In other words, Jericho wasn’t spectacular, but he didn’t stink up the joint.
The judges gave Jericho and partner Cheryl Burke a score of 19 (a seven and two sixes), which tied for the fifth-best mark out of 11 couples.
Of course, what the judges think really doesn’t matter. It’s a popularity contest determined by viewer voting, and for that very reason, I expect Jericho to be on the show for a while.
I’d love to see Jericho win the competition, but as long as he outlasts obnoxious Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, I’ll be happy.
On a side note, I had to laugh when judge Len Goodman said to Jericho, “You’re a great big boy,” like he was The Big Show or something.

You may as well tap out now, Kevin. Ward's name recognition alone will carry him into the finals, and he is no slouch at the dancing aspect, either.

So annoying how the presenter called him a "six time world WWE star". That doesn't even make sense. These people should do their research. On a side note, I thought Jericho danced well, which I didn't expect at all lol

Your jealousy of Ward is sad.
RESPONSE FROM KE: I'm not jealous of him. I don't like him. Big difference.

Did someone just accuse you of being jealous of Hines Ward. How does not wanting him to win, make you jealous of him?
I think you have a steeler's fan reading your articles

He was visibly nervous - it was cute. I love that about DWTS - you get to see these people who are normally so confident and practiced in their element tossed out of it into something as foreign to most people as ballroom dancing. It kind'ave shows a bit of extra humanity. And I really thought he did better than I was expecting - I mean, you try having all those muscles and being graceful and flexible - it's not easy. His build really isn't made for it. I mean, it's more understandable then a supermodel that completely lacks in natural grace. Yeesh. But, digressing - about the "big boy" comment - think about it ... to the real world, i.e. the world outside of professional wrestling, Jericho IS a big boy. They pretty much all are.

Good start for Jericho, I hope he keeps getting better as the competitions progresses.
I think I saw Alicia Fox and the Bella Twins at the audience. Were there other wrestling-tied people there?
RESPONSE FROM KE: They were the only ones I saw. Haven't heard if any others were there.

I was hoping that Ward would break his leg or something. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I wonder if Ben Roethisberger was hanging out by the restrooms looking for a young woman to pounce on.
Jericho wasn't bad...a lot better than WCW's contender....Master P
RESPONSE FROM KE: Nah, Ben wouldn't think of doing something like that. He has to get them drunk first before he puts the moves on them,

He's lucky, That Cheryl Burke is 10 different kinds of hot. Plus she has the rep there, so maybe she carries him to the finals.

I hope before he dances on next week's episode Jericho breaks out a "man of 1,004 dance steps" promo.

To that judge, Jericho is probably the Big Show, stature wise. He's what 6'1 or 6'2? I'm 6'2 myself and far more often than not I'm the tallest guy in the room.
We think of Jericho as being a small guy because he works for a company where you regularly see people 6'5 or taller but he's not small. Add to that his physique and the judge is likely impressed by his size just as some wrestlers might be impressed by The Giant's size.
RESPONSE FROM KE: I've stood next to Jericho and we are the exact same height -- 5-10. I definitely wouldn't say Jericho is a small guy in real life, but I also wouldn't say he was big.

Oh ok my mistake. I forget sometimes that billed heights aren't always accurate in this business. Thought I'd heard him billed as over 6 feet before. Yeah 5'10 is over average height but hardly comment worthy.
