Reports: ‘Jersey Shore’ star Snooki to host next week’s WWE Raw
File this one under: “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Snooki from “Jersey Shore” will be the guest host of Raw next Monday, according to pwinsider.com. TMZ.com first reported that she would be appearing on Raw in some capacity.
Why WWE would want to copy TNA’s horrible angle is beyond me. Oh well, looks like the old fast-forward button will be getting some work next Monday.

At least a guest host is only there for a couple of segments on one show...

Guests hosts now tend to show up for one segment for a few minutes. and besides, she's the most popular one.

Clearly, the WWE is trying to gear the show towards Vince Russo's kids...

your reports suck big time. WWE now they need TNA as a rival sports entertainment company as compition makes cash. As for all you TNA haters out there get a life!

WWE has officially jumped the shark.

Kev,
I think it's funny that you love wrestling but can't stand "Jersey Shore".
A lot of the appeal of both is based on exposing human traits that we probably should not be to proud of really.
Nothing wrong with hating JS. It's just funny! maybe also a bit ironic.

Maybe The Rock will show up and make her cry..............
Posted by: Horseman420 | March 7, 2011 5:23 PM
wow that is so lame wasting money with the shore casts
Posted by: sadiq | March 7, 2011 5:36 PM
Something strikes me about this (other than "lame factor")...
TNA blatantly copies the 2-21-11 ad, and now we get something called a "Snooki" (*guffaw*) on RAW?
Seems like WWE is poking fun at TNA's lack of originality. I don't know if that's satire or stupidity...maybe a bit of both.
Posted by: FLOW | March 7, 2011 5:45 PM
One other thing: I think your use of quotation marks should have been placed around the word "star" instead of "Jersey Shore"!!
Posted by: FLOW | March 7, 2011 5:47 PM
Why WWE wastes valuable money on producing their terrible movies, Snooki, and Justin Beiber at WrestleMania is beyond me. Plus it makes them look like minor league TNA for copying their idea. But hey, this is the same company that financed Linda's inept Senate run and the XFL...they clearly know a thing or two about blowing money. Hopefully Snooki gets met with an RKO or a swift Orton boot to the head. We want quality professional wrestling angles and matches, not garbage like Snooki appearing so close to WrestleMania.

I don't see this as a "bad thing". While I don't see this as a good thing, I don't think it will come off as TNA's did. She's just a guest host, its not like we've never seen that before.

You've got to try everything in life at least 1 time :)

I'm not a fan of the show, but if this means that Ryder will finally get his push, then I'm all for it.
Posted by: Jack Windham | March 7, 2011 8:29 PM
Maybe there will be a Zack Ryder sighting next week

Is Vince Russo booking both TNA and WWE?

And from the looks of the promo, and how RAW was tonight, it looks like WWE's PG rating is out the window. I don't mind the blood, even language every once in a while, but I will not be permitting my kids to see such sexuality.

I've never seen 'Jersey Shore' or any other program from today's MTV (whatever happened to MTV playing music?) and i don't think the whole 'Jersey Shore' style reality phenomenon has reached Australia yet, thankfully, but even still i can't fathom why any professional wrestling organisation would not only actively pursue these 'famous for being famous' people but pay them a fair chunk of coin.
Perhaps it's the slightly out of touch older heads that run these companies misguided attempts to connect with the youth of today but whatever the reason it's obvious that real wrestling fans aren't keen and never will be so it beggars belief that now WWE will follow TNA's lead and bring these people in.
It reminds me of the old days when Vince was so desperate for popular crossovers that he'd bring in anyone who's had even one minute of fame in an attempt to add mainstream legitimacy to his product.

i agree with a lot of these posts. Snooki is by far the most popular cast member (which is probably WWE's way of getting a dig in at TNA), and as guest host it's likely to be a one time deal. i'm actually looking forward to it and think it has potential to be pretty amusing. i haven't liked a lot of past guest hosts, but you only have to put up with it for a segment or two and they're gone. no big deal really

The WWE is headed for quite a situation next Monday.

The PG rating was out the window last night for anybody that could read lips the whole time Stone Cold was on camera.

Relax Kev. I hate that shore show and it's cast also but this is obviously an attempt at getting some 'real' media attention, something WWE does every year before WM
Posted by: Dave | March 8, 2011 9:30 AM
Hate to be picky, but I believe the term they used (and new term from now on) was "guest star."
So basically she is just making an appearance on the program, not running or influencing the show. I do agree it is a bit lam, she's not much lamer than some of the other hosts and guests they've had.
Perhaps The Rock will be the last actual "host" for WWE.

I get the feeling that Charlie Sheen will be hosting Raw at some point in the future.
Posted by: Matthew | March 8, 2011 10:50 AM
Frank, I doubt whatever they have Snooki do will be any more sexual than the existence of the Divas.
Posted by: Kyle | March 8, 2011 11:18 AM
Kevin, wasn't the Miz from an MTV 'reality show' back in the day?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Yes, and I hated him for it (and not in a heel heat kind of way).

Wrestling fans can be infuriating sometimes. WWE is copying TNA? Uhh, not really. They got the number one person from that show. Pretty much everyone in America knows who Snooki is, even if they don't watch Jersey Shore. They aren't bringing in the also-rans from the show that only JS fans care about. I hate Snooki, I hate the fact that she's a "star" but she is. I doubt she'll work a match, like TNA has the JS people do, and they certainly won't be debuting a character based on the show. WWE gets the cream of the crop while TNA gets the crap that rolls down the hill.

I am a fan of the blog but where is the venom that was displayed towards TNA? Now we have people saying it is different because one of these clowns is just hosting? Stop making excuses because both angles are inexcusable.

With the Rock and Austin back, the WWE needs to take full advantage of this opportunity and begin moving away from the PG WWE, and get back to the PG13 WWE from the late 90's and early 00's. Stop with the stupid childish crap like Snookie, Beiber, and John Cenas dumb one liners.
Wrestling is not as big as it was in the 90's for a reason. The PG rating has to go. I miss the days when I was able to go to Hooters or any sports bar and watch Pay Per Views with my friends. Sadly that hardly happens anymore because WWE wants to promote their brand to children and not the older fans who have watched it their whole lives.
Kev,
Can we start a petition to change WWE? I cant think of anyone better to lead it than you.

I'm not even going to bother commenting on this.

"Plus it makes them look like minor league TNA for copying their idea. But hey, this is the same company that financed Linda's inept Senate run and the XFL...they clearly know a thing or two about blowing money."
Linda's Senate run was funded with her own money.

I miss the good old day with shots of kids in the crowd with foam rubber middle fingers.........

Kevin . . . .
The only way this one can go down in the history books is if they go the Pete Rose at Wrestlemania route.
