Drew Carey to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame
The host of “The Price is Right” is the newest member of WWE’s 2011 Hall of Fame class, but it’s not Bob Barker.
WWE announced today that comedian Drew Carey – the current host of the long-running game show – will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the HOF during the ceremony on April 2.
I know a lot of fans hate the whole celebrity wing deal, but at least the celebrities who have been inducted previously – Pete Rose, William “Refrigerator” Perry and Bob Uecker – made memorable appearances at WrestleMania. Carey, on the other hand, made an appearance at the 2001 Royal Rumble that was both forgettable and regrettable (he was a surprise entrant in the Rumble match).
I’d rather see WWE induct Barker, the iconic former “Price is Right” host who did a great job as Raw guest host in 2009. It has been reported that Barker will be appearing at WrestleMania XXVII on April 3, so perhaps he will induct Carey the night before.
Of course, that would be like Johnny Rodz going into the Hall of Fame before Bruno Sammartino and then having Sammartino induct him.

Why has Mr. T not been inducted yet!! How do you compete in the main event of the very first WresleMania and not get in to the HOF?
They really dropped the ball on the hall this year.HBK excluded. But Bob Armstrong? I was huge Jim Duggan fan but I could think of a half dozen mid-card acts that should go before him. And Sunny? You get into the hall just for being hot? I would have put Miss Elizabeth in ahead of her.

Kevin, we're now inducting people who've had 5 minutes of fame courtesy of the WWE? Nothing personal against Drew Carey, but I'm sure he was scratching his head wondering why he's going in, too. Can't wait to hear the response when his name gets mentioned! Keep up the great work, man!!

I'm with Andre. Some people must've done rubbed ol' Vinnie O'Mac the wrong way to get passed over. Maybe WWE wants better indictess for Bob Armstrong, Miss Elizabeth and Hacksaw. Mr. T definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame MILES ahead of Drew Carey. Is this what it's come to now? Anybody in the entertainment field who had 5 minutes of WWE fames goes in?

This is my breaking point with WWE. Inducting Drew Carey into the wwe hall of fame??! Really?? Really?? He made one damn appearance! That just goes to show how freakin stupid wwe has become. I have really tried to be loyal to wwe but I just can't do it anymore. All they do anymore is screw up and this is my breaking point. I respect Drew Carey but his name shouldn't even be mentioned with wwe, he made one appearance for gods sake. I don't even know if I can watch wwe at all anymore, they make me sick. I am fully on board with TNA now, they have a better roster, better storylines, they make it look more realistic, they push the limits like wwe used to do. The only thing I will watch wwe for is the few veterans left that I'm still loyal to such as triple h. Otherwise, wwe is dead to me now. It makes me so sad that young kids today think that wwe is a good show when its in fact terrible programming. I give my full support to TNA now. WWE has become pathetic.

I'm glad that Drew Carey is going to be in the WWE Hall of Fame I mean who knows he's probably going to do a Price is Right segment at Wrestlemania like Bob barker did on Raw or he's probably going to tell a few jokes

I think the most deserve to be in this celebrity wing HOF will be Bob Barker, which he really done a great job on hosting WWE RAW ............ or Donald Trump for hosting wrestlemania 4 & 5 plus his feud with Mr. McMahon at Wrestlemania 23.. Any comment?

Brandon, they'll just pipe in some canned applause.
Wait, why am I hearing a "Goldberg" chant all of a sudden?

I actually do not mind the Carey induction. I think the WWE is trying to dilute the celebrity wing and show it for what it is, a nice way to get celebs to come to the hall of fame/Wrestlemania weekend. It was a travesty when Pete Rose was the only one in there, and because of that uproar, I think the WWE is just showing that you don't have to do much to get into the celebrity wing. The celebrity wing is fine, but seeing Pete Rose stand alone next to Ric Flair was insanity.

I love my Drew Carey very much...but I do not understand this honor.

I guess the question is, who will be inducted first: Bruno Sammartino, Hornswaggle or Vince Russo?

The celeberty is cool with me but Drew Carey? I mean when I think of celeberties that deserve that honor how about:
1.Mr.T
2.Cyndi Lauper
3.David Arquette
4.Dennis Rodman
5.Donald Trump
6.Kevin Greene
7.Mayweather
8.Lawrance Taylor
9.Regis Philman
10.Karl Malone

They really dropped the ball this year for the hall of fame. Bob Armstrong, Drew Carey, Jim Duggan??? Why not Tugboat, Vanna White, or Paul Roma? Seriously, they need to add:
Owen Hart
Paul Heyman
Randy Savage
Magnum TA
Mick Foley
and of course, The Rock.
The rock would be a logical choice being that he is hosting and probably will never wrestle again.
Speaking of mick foley, is he still with TNA? And for how much longer?

I don't know him. :/

To be fair, Carey's appearance in the Royal Rumble match was pretty awesome. Also, I made a perfect Create-A-Wrestler of him back on the N64, so there you go.

LOL @ James!! Wonder if they'll call wrestlers out of the crowd to stand and give their guesses on the next item up for bids LMAO! Take care, James. Have a good one, brother!

Miss Elizabeth before Sunny would probably be a more logical choice but, not to sound cruel, Sunny can show up for the event. The WWE HOF may not want to be reminded of the dark, tragic side of wrestling.

Q: Where did all of Drew Carey's weight go?
A: Matt Hardy's gut
I'm sorry. I just hate the Hardy's so much.

what about ron simmons 1st black world champ for hall of fame

I was going to voice my view, but a lot of the previous writers got it right. The hall of fame is basically turning into the hall of shame. How can anyone in their right minds make a list like the one they're actually going to give to the WWE universe and the live and tv audience, when other truly deserving, real icons of the sport, which used to be called 'pro wrestling' , get ignored. Everyone can come up with their own list as there are many. Yeah, Vince might still be mad that Bruno won't have anything to do with what used to be great, what used to be the WWWF, and his grudge against the Macho Man Randy Savage for whatever personal reason, and the Ultimate Warrior, who he tore apart in that dvd, (although I heard that he did want him in the HOF last year and tried to get him, but Warrior turned him down.) Maybe he has reasons for those legends, but to omit Owen Hart, Miss Elizabeth, hell, even Bob Backlund! to name a few. I guess Vince really does want to get away from the wrestling part and focus more on the entertainment part, (Hornswaggle in the Royal Rumble and lasting as long as he did!) Yeah he did make it up to Wrestlemania 27, or whatever the hell number it's up to now, but I wonder what his father would think.

Why?

And another thing, I'm against celebrities and even NWA & AWA wrestlers who never wrestled here, inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Although I can understand why. The WWWF, then WWF, now WWE, has outlasted the other 2 organizations, and Vince basically owning the rights to everything, so we saw people like Verne Gagne inducted. But Drew Carey?! I like Drew too and used to watch his show when it was on, but to honor him over others who actually made a lasting impression?! I even forgot that Drew ever did anything in the WWE until I saw the clip of him with Kane in the Royal Rumble. At least give it instead to Bob Barker, who was one of the best hosts! If there has to be a celebrity wing in the Hall of Fame, then go back to the beginning and honor those who were there. Mr. T. Cyndi Lauper. Muhammed Ali. And don't forget Liberace! Now that was a show! Are ya listening Vinnie!

Well at least there finally inducting the Road Warriors this year. It hasn't been announced yet but I just got off the phone with Animal.... it's about time.

Both WWE and TNA have turned into silly childish cartoons. They are still fun to watch (at times) but they need to stop making shows just for kids. It's obvious that WWE is run by a "special ed" boss with limited cerebral skills.
Unfortunately TNA tries to copy many of WWE's silly stupid crap. As a result it just makes TNA stupid as well. Wrestling today is merely a reflection of our screwed up society and our corrupt government. Let the 100% truth be told!

I'm so disappointed that they forgot to induct "Mickey Mouse" and "Bugs Bunny" into the hall of SHAME!
More and more the WWE is becoming a show for the under 10 years old generation.

I think WWE has just gotten dumber. It use to be cool. You knew it was fake but now it is just dumb. I watch it and all I see is the same character doing the same thing. They get into the same problems and there is no one to rescue them. It feel like they are just bullin the same people.
