Another continuance for Jeff Hardy’s drug case
There was yet another false finish in the drug case against TNA star Jeff Hardy.
Yes, the case that began when Hardy was arrested a year and a half ago was continued again today in a Moore County (N.C.) courtroom.
According to pwinsider.com, the assistant district attorney asked for the continuance while awaiting the results of lab tests on some of the evidence that had been seized from Hardy’s home.
A plea deal reportedly is still being discussed. It had been reported a couple months ago that an agreement was in place, but at a hearing in January, both sides said they needed more time to negotiate the deal.
Hardy was arrested in September 2009 after Moore County deputies raided his home. He was charged with trafficking in opium, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

How many times would you say you have typed that last paragraph in the past year and a half?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Copy and paste is a wonderful thing.

Why didn't the DA make sure to have results of lab tests on the evidence before setting a court date in the first place? That sounds bizarre as a reason for a continuance.

The continuance was probably granted this time because he was in no shape to show up to court after being drugged up at Victory Road.

Jeff Hard, The Rock knows Exactly how you can get your monkey ass out of prison... If, you whisper in the wind your drug eroded excuse for a body into that evidence room.. then you take all that of that drug paraphernalia, cocaine, opium, vicadin, laxatives & viagra... you take them, you shine them up real nice... Careful not to inhale now! ... Then you turn them summabitches SIDEWAYS & YOU STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY ASS!!!!!!
IF YA SMELLLLL...................

Prison is probably the best result for Hardy now. Maybe in there he will be put on a drug rehabilitation course...probably a lot more than TNA would do!
The Sting/Hardy main event was a disgrace, but to be honest I blame TNA more for letting it even go ahead. Of course Jeff is not blameless, but he really needs help...he needs to get some help before he becomes another wrestling tragedy...

It's a sad double standard when Jeff is rightfully slammed for his continued drug use and his personal irresponsibility and unprofessionalism, yet RVD gets cheered for his (presumed) continued drug use and it even gets into a story line as a recognizable part of his life (Mr. Anderson using it in a promo a few weeks back).
Since all wrestlers are independent contractors, TNA has every right to terminate Jeff's contract. However, it's probably in everyone's best interest for him to be retained under special conditions (rehab, drug testing, termination clauses). But the fans cannot be hypocritical and be mad at Jeff while holding up RVD 4:20 signs.

I feel so sorry for Jeff. :'(

To the person above me comparing Hardy to RVD, they are nothing alike. RVD smokes marijuana, Hardy is suspected to (and was arrested for) using and/or selling much harder drugs. Marijuana helps with appetite and relaxation, harder drugs don't help at all. It wouldn't be hard to wrestle under the influence of weed, unlike if you had just snorted some coke or something. Marijuana shouldn't be illegal, and we're closing in on the day that it won't be, so comparing RVD to Jeff Hardy is way, way off.

I do not in any way defend the use of drugs or what are considered "illegal substances", but at least RVD seems to come to the ring "functional". Granted his Frog Splashes may be a little slower these days, but for all his injuries, he seems to be hanging in there. Jeff Hardy can barely walk down the ramp or do a promo that doesn't remind me of Jim Morrison in his final days! The postponements of his trial are obviously supported by TNA (or money he's earned from TNA events) and will continue to go on until TNA cuts ties with Mr. Hardy. I was and still am a big fan of his earlier years, right up to him joining TNA, but now it's time for Jeff to face the fact that he has a problem... then again, I can't make that judgement for him. That's for him alone to decide...
