Video: Randy Savage promotes WWE video game -- let the speculation begin

Is Randy "Macho Man" Savage finally bound for the WWE Hall of Fame?

Well, that remains to be seen, but what at one time was about as likely as LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert exchanging Christmas cards suddenly doesn't seem so far-fetched.

Savage, who has been on the outs with WWE chairman Vince McMahon for years, not only is included in the forthcoming WWE All-Stars video game, but he also cut a promotional video for it.

This latest news continues what appears to be a gradual thawing of the strained relationship between Savage and McMahon. In the past couple years, WWE has produced a Savage DVD and action figure.

Personally, I do think Savage will eventually take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame, but my guess is that it won't be this year. WWE likes to have one really big star each year for it's Hall of Fame event, and obviously this year it's Shawn Michaels. If and when Savage gets the call, there's little doubt that he would be the headliner.

I think the fact that Shawn Michaels is getting inducted this year may be more reason Savage is too...it'd be a way for McMahon to appease the Macho Man fans out there and bring some legitimacy to the Hall of Fame itself, at the same time be able to exact one last burial on Savage.... show him that on the Hall of Fame "card", he's still a "mid-carder".

I think if McMahon is at all reluctant about inducting Savage, he'd much rather put him in the middle of the card and sweep him away rather than give him the main Hall of Fame spot-light.

I'm so glad video games are back in the DANGER ZONE! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH!

For the record, I didn't understand a word he said in this clip....and I love it!! Took me back to my childhood!

If All-Stars is any indication of the return of accessible gameplay like the ol' N64 days...this is a day-one buy for me. I never liked Smackdown vs. Raw - complicated controls and sloppy commentary (hearing Michael Cole saying the same crap in EVERY SINGLE MATCH? No thanks)...nah.

Oh wait, we're not here to talk about video games?! Whoops, must be in the wrong blog...

I don't believe the Macho Man will be in the HOF this year either however, it was really good to see him with a WWE/F logo behind him. This may be a small step but I think it is safe to say it's in the right direction.

Even though I can't see it happening this year I really hope they give Savage the honor as soon as possible. Even though I'm a huge HBK fan, I wouldn't mind seeing the two inducted together. Neither one would take away the spotlight from the other as both are already legends. If anything, WWE should do it just to attract business for the HOF and Wrestlemania. I can see this year having a smaller draw as past years just because of the economy.

Looking in the long run WWE has a lot of top guys retiring in the next few years that could headline the Hall of Fame...HHH, Undertaker, Kane, Edge, Mysterio are not very far away from hanging up the boots and those are only names from the current era.

Another fix to the "too many big names for one year" problem is to only induct 5 or less every year. If there were a lower limit to how many were inducted every year people like Koko would not water it down and you would only get the true legends.

At this point in time, the Macho Man is looking a lot (though sounding not at all) like the Boogie Woogie Man.

didnt they show randy savage's wcw debut on a recent tv episode of wwe vintage collection, there maybe some truth to the rumours

Wow, last time I saw him he still had black hair. Still, one of the greatest and I truly hope things are thawing between him and Vinnie Mac because if there's one thing this Legend Lovin' Era of WWE needs it's more of the Macho Man.

They need to bring him back to the announce table. He can get Michael Cole off TV. Or Josh Matthews. Or Todd Grisham. Or just about every other announcer they got.

Did anybody pick up the Dusty Rhodes and Billy Graham references?? Great!!

If WWE wants Macho in the HOF, they better put him in soon because they sure as hell aren't going to when Steph is in charge.

I really hope they wait until next year to induct Randy Savage...he deserves top billing. OHHHHH Yeahhh!

Macho Man is looking old ... OOOOHHHHH YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

haha I love that man's promos! that was great. he looks ridiculously jacked in the video game, though.

@ Jason: you make a good argument, but Vince is a businessman at heart, so if he's going to make peace with Savage, I think he's going to want to milk it as much as he can. So I would think that this time next year we'll get a Macho Man return somewhere on par with Bret Hart's last year. Although wouldn't he make for a cool surprise Royal Rumble entrant?

I have waited FOREVER FOR THIS...Savage is still money....This sold the Game for me...McMahon holds some serious grudges, doesn't he???? Kevin, did you "work" for McMahon at any time while you were working for WCW???

RESPONSE FROM KE: Not sure what you mean.

I bet if I sent this to one of my friends who don't watch wrestling they will be dumbfounded.

Kevin, what I meant was were you still working for WCW when WWE bought them...

RESPONSE FROM KE: Yes, I was. Right after the deal went through, I -- and just about every other office employee -- was let go.
