Audio interview with WWE star John Morrison

Here is the audio of an interview I conducted with WWE star John Morrison backstage at 1st Mariner Arena when WWE was in Baltimore recently for a house show.

Morrison discussed his ladder match at TLC with Sheamus, the evolution of his character, his friendly rivalry with The Miz off camera and working with him on camera, and his Parkour training.

Maybe the writers aren't to blame for his underwhelming promos.

Thanks again for getting these up. Good answers as usual.

Morrison has so much in-ring talent, but can't seem to bring his personality into interview questions. He cuts the most blah promos of any main eventer, and even in this interview he seems to have a certain laziness about him.

RESPONSE FROM KE: I don't know that it's laziness. I just think he has a laid-back personality.

He didn't say anything of note what-so-ever.

Can't you throw in a question to get him of his guard? Just to get the ball rolling at least.

Problem with WWE is they want all their megastars to be Rock on the mic. Not everyone can be gold on the mic...they need to highlight a superstar's strengths and hid their weaknesses. John Morrison needs to be showcased in the ring and his parkour offense needs to be promoted as a unique and special act (like in his amazing match with Miz 2 weeks ago). He needs to be booked similar to RVD in the original ECW...limited mic time with great, innovative matches.
If Paul Heyman were booking, John Morrison would be the most popular wrestler in the world right now.... but WWE keeps trying to showcase how bad he is on the mic instead (Mr.Ziggles anyone? Ugh...)

He's from California so he's laid- back. It's refreshing that he's not a boring mic hog but he has been the most exciting thing in the last few Months of RAW and pay per views. He is different all the time and fresh. Everyone else says the same thing over and over and does the same thing in the ring over and over. I say MORE MORRISON!! Shove him down our throats for a change instead of the same ol' played out peopel and groups and gangs. Talk about boring!!!!

I agree with anonymous. John Morrison is a surfer dude and they have that laid-back persona. There is nothing wrong with that. Also consider how many times he has been asked these same questions, not only in the USA but all over the world! You too would find it difficult to demonstrate any level of excitement over the same questions. So give the man a break. He works hard selling the WWE,honing his many athletic skills, adding to his move-set and keeping his ABS sexy and toned( we ladies thank you.Imagine if all those wrestlers were the same. How boring that would be. JMorrison is different. He hasn`t got that testosterone driven, macho BS going on and that makes him interesting. He was the perfect foil to The Miz`s loud obnoxious persona. That`s why they were a success. He is also naturally funny and quick witted as well as handsome and seems a little shy at times. I think he is the total package. So please, interviewers try to be original and stop being lazy asking the same mediocre questions over and over...! I am sure you will get better responses from these athletes if YOU put in some real work.
