Great stuff Kev. But don't quit your day job.
Unfortunately you ain't "The Rock", but I'll
give credit for trying. Still it's a good show.

Congrats Kev on the video blog addition to Ring Posts! Glad to see the expanding of horizons and all that. Hopefully you keep going, cause the blog is great. I'll admit I chuckled at the end there...but I don't think that promo would be counted among the Top 25...of anything haha.

You mentioned "cringe worthy".....You might want to look at the ending of your video.

Nice first effort, Eck... will these be converted to podcasts?

This was good, Eck. I like it!

Great Show Eck! Can't wait to see the next. And I agree the Rock wasn;t called the Great One for nothing!

Great video! Quick question - What would you say was Cena's most cringe-worthy moment on the mic?

thats one of the worst immitations of the rock i have ever seen, but i do admire that u went for it. u should close every show with a hokey impression thats so bad its entertaining. it could get people anticipating every new episode. the audience will be wondering, "what terrible impression eck will do next?"
seriously tho, congrats on your premiere episode. and if ur taking requests i want to see ur macho man impression next.

Great
Can't wait to see more of this

I totally agree with you on Cena. Too often his promos appeal to the lowest common denominator with childish humour, when he should be serious. He's a great talker but a lot of the time it's painfully obvious that he's just an "actor" spouting out these lines. I have the same problem with The Miz, who made it into you list. For me, he's still just a guy saying his lines rather than believing them. When he starts doing that, maybe he will actually be 'Awesome'. On the flipside, you have someone like CM Punk, who you believe every word he says. And. . . umm, what exactly is The Eck cooking?

you mean, what the Eck is smokin'....

Great Opening video! Although I would have gone with a KISS T-Shirt instead of Vampiro.

I haven't been this excited for a new feature on the blog since comment of the week! (Sorry Kev, that was too easy!)

Not a bad first episode. The opening news story on the WWE-CT polling controversy ran a bit long, but otherwise, I can see this being a good supplement to the weekly blog. I'd suggest a weekly runtime of 5 minutes rather than 8 minutes, though. Easier to digest and gives us more incentive to both read the blog AND watch the videos. I'd use the video feature as an additional platform to expand upon past entries and maybe respond directly to comments instead of repeating your news pieces verbatim.

This almost makes me want to start my own video series on YouTube, even though I'm a radio personality above all else. I have to admit, I lol'ed a little at the hokey Rock imitation at the end. Just don't do it again. ;)

Like the new concept.Could do without the impression!!Actually it wasn't too shabby.
richard

I was also quite surprised WWE didn't have Rock at no. 1 on their list like you (correctly) did. Most guys are lucky to come up with one catchphrase that really gets over.....he came up with what, a dozen?

Vince is an a-- and I hope his spends some time in jail.

Nice Rock impression!

hahhahaha amazing!

I hope you are greatly compensated at the end of the year by the B'more Sun management

I want my 8 min. back!

Great idea to have a complimentary show for the blog. I think there's much room for improvement (don't say "um" and "ah" as much), but the Rock mock was awesome as the Miz would say :)

Are you planning on having a longer show? Something similar to the Pro Wrestling Report perhaps, or different?

You hit the nail on the head (or, since this is a wrestling blog, crashed the body through the table) with your comments on Cena's promos. How many times have we seen Cena punctuate his yells by pointing repeatedly at the camera while screwing his face up as if someone were taking an icepick to his testicles? There is no creativity there.

that ending wasn't cringe worthy in anyway

Only time I'll comment on your show.

I would have gone the Jim Rome style show. But first I would have to write a blog people care about and work for a newspaper.

Your co-workers are probably sick of stenching what The Eck is brewing after lunch!

Kev, I believe Ring Posts Xtra should be marketed as the cure for insomnia.

Good segment, right up until you tried to emulate The Great One. To quote a writer by the name of Kevin Eck, "Oh The Horror!".

sidenote: Rock turns his head to the camera when he says 'cooking'.

Nice idea, Kev.

Look forward to seeing more video blogs over the coming weeks.

hilarious! great work kev - keep it up!

This is definitively a nice touch to the Ring Posts. It's kind of fresh, it lets you talk a little more extensively about your entries, explain your ideas in a different manner... And on top of that, I see you are really confortable standing in front of a camera, which improves the product.

Did you consider making a "permanent" section in 'Ring Posts Xtra' ? Something like "Wrestler of the week" in which you talk about someone left you impressed in the past seven days. Or maybe a "The best & the worst" section, talking about what you liked most and least. Or a "Power 25" style one, reducing the amount of wrestlers to 10.

Anyways, great job Kev !!

"The bottom line is...as Stonecold Steve Austin would say...we're just gonna have fun".

Is that the PG era Austin?

You need to work on your promos Kev, or maybe get a Manager to cut them for you.

Eck, don't give up your day job. Stick to the blog.

Love this show. Please do it every week

Good first edition. My only realy criticism is there camera switched angles and you were looking off someplace else instead of in the camera.

That was pretty good. You certainly don't seem to be uncomfortable in front of a camera. I agree with your comments about Cena; he's fine on the mic, but not outstanding. That's basically how I feel about Cena overall-- he does everything just fine, but nothing outstanding.

Hey Kev, have you ever met Vince McMahon? If so, how does he strike you personally?

RESPONSE FROM KE: I have met Vince and interviewed him a few times. Definitely an intimidating presence but he was friendly and cooperative.

Great job, Kevin! You had me at the opening graphic. Keep riding that lightning bolt!

Guess you didn't like my comment on your shirt?

RESPONSE FROM KE: I approved it. And you just might see a Kiss shirt at some point.

Great new feature, Kevin, keep 'em coming! Just curious, aside from your recent foray into the squared circle, did you ever do any training or consider a career as a wrestler or at least an on-air character? Any sports in high school or college?

RESPONSE FROM KE: Never gave any serious thought to becoming a wrestler or on-air character.

Great job, Kev! Any chance you putting these on iTunes?

Great first episode! Keep 'em comming! (Although the credits should have included the Jabroni behind the camera eating a chicken leg! >=)

A broken Jeri-tron 5000 is more hi-tech than whatever that is the Sun has you standing next to.

Great stuff, bang on the money with the Cena and Rock remarks. Props on the guns too!
