WWE NXT: Quick hits on final episode on SyFy before show moves to online
• WWE made it official that Tuesday night’s episode of NXT would be the final one on SyFy. Beginning next week, NXT will be shown exclusively on nxt.wwe.com. The show didn’t exactly go out with a bang. It consisted of two challenges, a re-airing of the final segment from last week’s Smackdown and the Raw Rebound. There were no wrestling matches. Even worse, there was no CM Punk on commentary. It was never explained why Punk wasn’t there after he said last week that he would be back.
• Vickie Guerrero and Kaitlyn had a pull-apart at the end of the show, and it was announced that they would face each other in a wrestling match on next week’s program. It’s looking more and more likely that Kaitlyn is going to end up being a WWE Diva regardless of whether or not she wins NXT Season 3.
• Kaitlyn and A.J. both came off as likable in their video packages.
• A.J. won the “Diss the Divas” challenge, in which the rookies had 60 seconds to cut a promo on the other women. She did an OK job, but I thought Maxine’s promo was a lot better. Maxine cut a heel promo, however, so she had no chance since the winner was determined by audience reaction. The only other rookie to cut a halfway decent promo was Naomi.
• Kaitlyn won the wheelbarrow race challenge, which was pretty much just an excuse to get Hornswoggle on the show.
• The “This Week in WWE History” feature focused on a Raw show at Madison Square Garden in 1997. Among the highlights was Cactus Jack (Mick Foley) defeating Triple H in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. It’s pretty interesting that WWE plugged Foley’s book on Raw Monday and then showed him beating Triple H the next night.
• The first elimination of NXT Season 3 will take place next week. Here’s how I would rank the rookies based on their potential to make it as a WWE Diva:
1. Naomi
2. Kaitlyn
3. A.J.
4. Maxine
5. Jamie
6. Aksana

What in the blue hell was that last night?
I want that hour of my life back.
Only WWE could get by with putting that travesty of an hour on television and take minimal criticism. Low standards even by wrestling standards seem to rule these days.
Kaitlan is hot though. At least that's something.

What a train wreck!

Maxine is looking better and better each week

Wow. So sad the way nxt went out. Sunday night heat was more watchable than nxt. I don't know why they ended heat to begin with.
Another show wwe should not have ended was tough enough. At least with that show you could sense the realness. I just hope one day tna will become a big of enough threat to force wwe to step their game up.

I will watch any WWE show as long as Kaitlyn is on it.

When does Foley's TNA contract end? Perhaps all the references indicate he could be coming back as the GM...

i only watch nxt to see AJ and Kaitlyn..

Reshad, also my thoughts. On Raw he said something about not being respected if people knew his identity. Fits the Foley profile.
Is he still with TNA? Heard anything regarding Foley, Kev?

I'm really disappointed that C.M. Punk wasn't on the show. I thought he was very funny on commentary last week and was really hoping to see the three-man commentary team of Punk, Cole, and Matthews again.

NXT is the only WWE show I actually watch from start to finish. That's mainly due to the banter between Cole and Matthews.
I'm telling you, I about pizzed myself when Stryker was behind Vickie pulling her off Kaitlin and Cole exclaims, "God, I wish I was Matt Stryker right now!"

Will you continue to write re-caps of NXT once the show moves exclusively online?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Perhaps.

Reckon Foley's returning to WWE?

A.J. by FAR the most attractive rookie. She's so cute and what a perfect body. You all know this to be true. She will win NXT season three

So NXT was simply a vehicle to get the Nexus over. Interesting.

So do you figure that Vickie Guerrero has been training to do some wrestling? She definitely has lost some weight and is a very compelling character. I never would have guessed that she could have evolved like this after Eddie died. I'm surprisingly looking forward to Vickie mixing it up in the ring with her rookie.

I only checked out the show to watch the amazon Aloisa. And lost interest in the show until I saw Kaitlyn, she is adorable, I love her buff body.
She could be the beginning in letting the average person see that a gal with muscle is actually okay.
Hope to see more of that gal again.

awful show. easily the worst NXT ever. even worse than last week's superstars (which spent 2/3 of the show rebroadcasting the entire Cena/Nexus gauntlet match)... that at least had some wrestling.
you know, since you HAVE an hour of tv time (NXT), why not at least try to make it good? Why not try to showcase the participants in a flattering way? Why not at least do something interesting or fresh? This week's NXT was an ugly, lazy insult to the participants and the viewers. Doesn't WWE care about quality?
The only think I LIKED about the show was Punk breaking his guarantee to the viewers that he'd be back... that's some ju-jitsu heel work, to be a jerk simply by NOT showing up... not that I can blame him.

so now what for tuesday nights? ECW 3.0?

That was an embarrassing show. No matches, a couple of challenges, recaps of things we've seen on Smackdown and Raw, and then there were at least two, ten minute commercial breaks!
To top it all off, I don't know what Matt was listening to, but AJ did not get the loudest crowd reaction. Naomi did. There wasn't even a contest. This was the second time in which the results of a contest were perhaps not as they should have been. Then there was the obstacle course challenge that Kaitlyn won even though Jamie could have easily beaten her if she didn't just stop short for no reason and stop trying.
This whole season has been a huge nightmare and could have been something good if handled appropriately.

Why watch the show if you hate it so much? Seems like most of you look foolish spending a whole hour watching something you don't even like. That's on par with going to a concert just to boo the band. Who does that?
I'm very disappointed that NXT Season 3 is moving online. I was ecstatic when I found out it would be Diva-oriented Say what you will, but it's fantastic that the women have a chance to show what they're made of, same as the men. It was also disappointing when there were male pros instead of just having Diva pros. Divas are under twice the pressure to perform- to be visually appealing and to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, because most of the men who watch wrestling only want to see girls who show their goodies and pull hair, the Divas/Knockouts will always have to climb two mountains to overcome the double standard.
I love reading your blogs, Kev- you have a great view of "the business." I really hope you don't give up on Season 3. The Divas and the Knockouts alike need support like yours to make their divisions viable in this testosterone-driven world. Your femme fans will love you for it.

It's bad when WWE can't do anything with a show full of good looking chicks. When even men full of testicular fortitude won't watch, then that's bad berry berry bad.

Although I do definitely agree that Kaitlin is HOT, don't leave out Naomi as well...she is SMOKIN' herself!! I think the new Diva's winner will come down to those two.........

Kaitlyn is smokin, AJ couldn't be any more annoying, Josh and Cole are the most entertaining commentating team going, and Vickie still has lots of weight to lose.

I don't simply watch the Divas for eye candy. I am waiting for the next Diva who can actually wrestle worth a lick. There are a few around. I think Gail Kim is a very good wrestler, but completely under appreciated. Beth Phoenix could wrestle. Trish could. Miss Jacquie or Jacquelyn however you might remember her. Victoria could wrestle as well, but that knee injury slowed her down a bit.
I watched NXT to see if something of value was there. I saw some of the physiques on the ladies and thought they looked the part. Aksanna and Jamie are powerfully built. Kaitlyn to an extent is. A.J. is slender and athletic looking and Monique really moves well athletically speaking. The issue is, they can't even get the basics right, and on top of that, the contests are obviously being rigged. That's not what I signed on for.
Monique with some proper training could probably be the best of the bunch. The question is; will WWE give her the time she needs, or rush her into the spotlight as unpolished as she is?
Posted by: The Mythical One | October 2, 2010 6:53 PM
I pulled a CM Punk there. I was talking about Naomi in that last portion instead of Monique.

If Mick Foley turns out to be the Raw GM, could TNA sue WWE for breach of contract?
Does WWE have to pay the networks commercial fees for the parts of their programs that plug things like their pay per views or all the ads for their movies? Do the networks have any control over how much of the show is a rerun of a show that appeared on another network and is essentially an ad to tune into a different network? It looks like the networks would at least insist on the announcers not ridiculing the show while it is being aired.
