Report: Christian expected to miss six months due to injury
Christian suffered a torn pectoral muscle and is expected to be out of action for about six months after undergoing surgery this week, according to a report on pwinsider.com.

While Christian has not been pushed as a main-eventer in WWE, he is without a doubt one of the company’s unsung heroes and a consummate professional. He has good-to-great matches with everyone he gets in the ring with and a victory over him means something.
I wish him a speedy recovery.

Just as his rivalry with Alberto Del Rio was kicking off. Gutted for him. I really enjoy watching Christian in the ring. He and Del Rio could have had some fine matches over the next couple of months.

Christian should of never left Tna,I think WWE has missed the boat on him since day one.First they put him on the lame duck ECW show and since then have treated him like a glorified jobber.Get well soon Christian and your Peeps will be waiting on you

The Peeps are very sad about this one....here's hoping for a speedy recovery and some sort of program with Edge when you return....

I agree with everything, but the "victory over him means something" That's pushing the impact of his 6 months away a bit much.

That really stinks, I personally like Christian and always thought he did a good job in the ring. is promo work wasn't too bad either. Some of the youngbloods could really learn a few things from him.
Now who is Alberto going to feud with. No more Rey Mysterio, no more Christian...

im not a fan of del rio, at all. or christian being used to guys like him over really. so its a positive for me that at least hes got a way out of that feud.

As i've said before, Christian is right up there in terms of my favourite workers in the business today so it's disappointing to hear about his injury, especially since he was finally getting a deserved, if small, push as a stepping stone for Del Rio.
I still wish he'd stayed in TNA because i miss main events featuring Christian, AJ and Kurt Angle, three of the best workers in the business today, but i enjoy watching Christian even when he's battling in the mid-card on WWE events.
Hopefully he gets back ahead of schedule because given his age and his well documented struggles to be recognised by those on high in WWE, a long layoff could ruin the rest of his WWE run.

Dang! I was really looking forward to his feud with Del Rio... man... Christian rules. Hope he heals fast.

This is sad news. Here's to hope for a quick recovery and perhaps a future world title reign! We all know he deserves it...

This sucks. Scratch one reason to watch Smackdown.

Holy storyline changers, Eckman!
I was actually really excited to see him working with Del Rio, and now that's toast. Wonder what the E will do with Del Rio now? From the way things were going previously, Matt Hardy could theoretically take on Christian's role, but with his current issues, I don't think that's gonna happen. Much as I dislike admitting it, I don't think a feud with Hardy would get Del Rio nearly as over as a single match with Christian could.

Christain, we need you back. I enjoy watching you wrestle as a young kid. I remember on RAW you was in The Un-Americans. Come back soon. Your peeps need you.

aww man. this means no del rio vs christian. damn.
but tbh, bel rio will isnt hurt by this since he'll probably move onto killing some other people.
whilst for christian... you know, as sadistic as it sounds.... im kinda happy. i mean, this is the best shot christian's got to jump into the main event. if someone is out for a good period of time, and if that someone happens to be popular with the fans. then, usually they get a good push on their return. christian is now likely to get the opportunity that vince wouldntve given him had he not gotten injured.

SmackDown superstars are dropping like flies who else on there is to watch Rey Rey , Matt Hardey , Taker you know after HIAC will take time off man SD is a joke .

Considering the mess that TNA is these days, I doubt he is really regretting his decision to jump off of that sinking ship.

Good thing they still have Matt Hardy under contract to fill the Christian role in the Del Rio feud. Right? Right? Oh, wait...

It could be one of the best things to happen to him longterm. He was kind of in that middle ground where he almost had to turn just for something new. I just hope he gets a real return next year. It would give an impending heel turn that much more impact than it would have had now.
I really think a heel Christian with some control over his character could rival the solid work Jericho does. He's extremely smart and like you said, he can work with absolutely anyone.
Think they'll find a way to keep him on camera while he's hurt?

Too bad he can't quit WWE and go back to TNA, where he was fantastic. Oh well.

Real shame - arguably the most underutilised performer in WWE - i just hope Christian comes back with his hunger still in check because a world title reign in WWE is long overdue. As a long serving peep - i wish you the speediest of recoveries fella...

I said it before and I will say it again. Del Rio vs Swagger(the all-American American) would be ideal.

I've always respected Christian on multiple levels...
#1) He's never had anything given to him. He's always been the type of guy who worked his a** off to get himself over, and I think the fans respect him even more for that. Vince may not push him to the main event level like he deserves, and ignoring the matches he should have had with Edge and Matt Hardy was dumb on multiple levels, yet he still gave it all each match, which made him look better as a result.
#2) In 2005, I was in high school and jaded on pro-wrestling, but decided to go to a house show with my dad. At that house show (in Loveland, Colo.) the opening match was Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin, and odd as it sounds, that match changed how I looked at wrestling. Without talking, Christian established himself as the heel and made it the good guy vs. bad guy drama that is the root of the business. It showcased the talent and athleticism that we all appreciate. It truly changed how I look at what goes on in the ring and reinvigorated a passion that I had lost years ago. I later had a chance to tell that to Christian, and he seemed genuinely moved by it.
He's a class act, a cool guy, and I'll be counting down these next six months...

i am sorry to hurt that u got hurt.you are a awesome wrelter.i am one of you fans and if u get this write back i love u christan

If WWE was really smart, they would try Christian out as an announcer for the next 6 months. The caliber of the announcers these days is crap. It;s a good idea. And when he is ready to come back he could get in a feud with some commentary he makes.

Ummmm....... A win over him means something to whom? It's scripted Kevin.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Yeah, it's scripted, but you do understand that a scripted win over Christian means more than a scripted win over, say, JTG, right?
Posted by: Andrew | October 2, 2010 1:51 AM
In all honesty, no I don't. Why does it mean more? Because the internet community of bloggers and websites respects Christian more?
McMahon thinks JTG is nothing special. McMahon thinks Christian is nothing special. The matches are booked accordingly.
