John Cena video interview: Part II

Here is the second and final part of an interview I conducted with WWE star John Cena before Raw Monday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

Cena talked about the youth movement in WWE, the Superman aspect of his character, a potential match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania and more.

Cena is spot on about the Miz.

WrestleMania 28, babyface Miz vs heel Cena in the biggest match since Rock vs Stone Cold at 17. You heard it here first!

disapointing interview. but he always dodges the tough questions. like most people, i respect him for his work ethic but he doesnt seem to care at all about making his 'work' interesting, seems very happy to do the same stuff for the kids over and over. no respect for this aspect of his character.

Cena is a class act.

Just wondering Kev, Cena spoke about The Miz and his "re-focus"...do you think that WWE initially booked this mini feud just purely to have The Miz squashed, which led to The Miz evolving his character. Or was The Miz getting squashed then coming back better all part of a storyline?

I thought he seemed a bit *too* serious. He wasn't rude or unfriendly, but I was expecting to see a bit more of the human being underneath.

Cena seems to take himself far too seriously. Fair enough, he's at the top right now, but I hope Orton knocks him off his throne. Then we might see him improving his routine( superman gimmick) the one he doesn't understand why we don't all get it. The likes of Hogan and Warrior did that routine to death in the 80's and 90's, we expect something more now.

Did see Cena on ESPN he was hilarious he revealed that he watches the Jersey Shore and he was on ESPNnews introduces the Beat acting like a Army general .

I've seen Cena interviewed a few times now and he seems like a nice enough guy but just once I'd love to see him give an answer that doesn't match the company position exactly. It's almost as though Vince is in his ear feeding him lines like he does with his commentators. Every interview I'm left thinking, "that's not how he really feels."

As to the superman comment, I don't think that you got across that at least I am not criticizing his ability, we are criticizing the fact that Cena NEVER loses and he has to lose some times to tell a good story for the heel. For example, Nexus needed to win the Summerslam match not Cena's team to tell the better story of how WWE will regroup and then beat the Nexus, which is better than the story of Nexus regaining their heat.

John Cena is FINE!
