John Cena video interview: Part I
Here is the first of a two-part interview I conducted with WWE star John Cena before Raw Monday night at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
Cena talked about his acting career and his latest movie from WWE Films, "Legendary," which opens Friday.
Check back tomorrow for the second part of the interview.

Kev, Great job on these interviews with Superstars.
Just one note....compare the difference in class, confidence, humility and the way they carry themselves between John Cena and RVD. Proves that hard work, dedication and vision trumps raw talent any day of the week.

Kevin, Just wondering your take on John Cena as an all round performer and person?
My humble opinion is that he seems like a genuine caring human being and is a great face of the company, especially for his charity work.
On the flip side, While I think he's a better worker than he's given credit for, I'm tired of his routine of shoulder blocks, the slam, U can't see me and into the attitude adjustment. Forgetting the public image stuff, it would be great for in ring performance within WWE for him to turn heel for a while and alter his routine. That would bring his already high level to that highest peak.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Cena is great to deal with. He "gets it."

This interview provides some amazing insight. As long as Cena is putting out family dramas, the heel turn everyone is speculating on will probably not happen. Vince won't cut his own throat by turning Cena only to watch WWE Films lose money. The interesting thing to watch over the next few months, however, will be what happens when Cena is supplanted as the No. 1 babyface on Raw. Orton's edgier character is so hot that the backlash against Cena's superhero boyscout routine could leave the creative team with no choice but to turn him. Putting the two men against each other in the six-pack challenge will be tricky, because if Cena and Orton end up in the ring together, Cena will probably find himself being booed by a majority of the WWE Universe.
