Video: The Miz is awesome at karaoke, too
We all know The Miz can cut an excellent promo, but it turns out that his mic skills go beyond his gift of gab.
I just watched the clips of WWE stars performing karaoke on George Lopez’s show last week, and The Miz tore down the house with his version of “Jump Around.”
As for the other WWE guys on the show, Dolph Ziggler did a decent job with “I’m Too Sexy,” but I expected better from R-Truth, whose version of “Kryptonite” was rather flat. And David Otunga showed that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, as he “sang” an off-key rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” a song made famous by his fiancé, Jennifer Hudson.
It was all pretty entertaining stuff, and the fact that it aired on SuperStation TBS – a station with a strong pro wrestling tradition – was not lost on me. WWE stars performing karaoke on the same station that made Tommy "Wildfire" Rich and Ole Anderson household names? The great Gordon Solie must have been turning over in his grave.

Duly impressed. "Jump Around" is double-black-diamond difficulty, as karaoke goes...

That song gets on my nerves regardless of who sings it, so I can't assess Miz' performance.

Everyone needs to stop with this Miz nonsense. As a lifelong WWE fan, now at the tender age of 30, I cannot believe anyone in their right mind thinks the Miz has ANY and i mean ANY discernable talents. Yes, he can speak but so what. He is a liability in the ring and moves slower than Mark Henry. He has zero in-ring talent and just like David Otunga, he worries me that he will seriously injur someone. I can barely watch Raw anyone b/w him and Michael Cole...I get that its to produce "heat", but the WWE is starting to lose me and other adults. Less Miz, and more ppl like Daniel Bryan please

This is just some guys having fun on a talk show, it's not that bad. Now things like the Gobbledy Gooker, Katie Vick, and Sheamus as WWE world champion probably have poor Gordon spinning like a top.
In fact he probably does roulette wheel style revolutions ever time Michael Hole calls a match

Did you happen see the Randy Orton interview as well? That was a pretty good, short interview. It was nice to hear Randy talk out of character.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Yes, I did see it. I agree that Orton came off well.

I enjoyed the interviews the most, to be honest. The Orton/R-Truth one was pretty funny and you so rarely see someone like Orton out of character, so it was cool.

Too bad he is a heel with the way he had the crowd...........when they turn the Miz face, he will go through the roof............

Sir Lucious Left Foot is a little hard on the Miz. As an "Old Skool" fan who is quite a bit older than 30 I feel like the Miz is one of the few reasons that I ever tune in anymore. He reminds me of a modern day Gino Hernandez that as I once heard Gary Hart say "is the kind of guy that the blue collar worker that is sitting in the crowd, wants to and thinks he can kick his butt...but he couldn't..." He is one of the few guys today that to me doesn't come off as a character but someone I can genuinely dislike and therefore "suspend disbelief". I also don't think his skills are that bad compared to guys who are legit threats to injure someone out there. WWE also thinks relatively high of MIZ as they have obviously given him the green light to improvise in his promos, which puts him as one of just a handful of guys that have been allowed to do that over the last 10 years or so. I for one am sick of the same old muscled up guys that have 0 charisma and few skills outside of "looking good". I don't like high spots as they aren't realistic and cannot beliecve that two guys who are telling me that they dislike each other and are going to fight would do a shooting star press onto the other guy. It doesn't make sense to me, but hey, maybe I am too much of a Jim Cornette mark...

Just heard Pat Brink signed a deal with WWE, again. So that's why he dropped the belt last month. Hope he doesn't get any unauthorized tatoos this time !!

Thanks thats 4 Minutes and 5 Seconds Of my life I'll Never get Back. And FYI ( HORRIBLE )Kevin a Miz Mark Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to admit, the Miz totally surprised me right there!! My jaw hit the floor the minute he started, highly impressive.
And, why is it that every wrestlers child LOVES Cena?? Orton talking about his daughter liking Cena reminded me of how Jericho, on Bonnie Hunt, said his 3 loved Cena.

I might have been impressed had The Miz actually sung.

I think this was a set up to make The Miz, look good. I only say that because the song that was given to The Miz, Jump Around, its still a big hit so to speak, the song is still used in movies today. As oppose to what Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and David Otunga sang. I'm Too Sexy and especially Kryptonite are both out-dated songs, the Jennifer Hudson song, don't know it, and don't care too. I think it was the WWE way (assuming they choose the songs) of making The Miz look good in the peoples eye.

I saw Miz at a live event recently. His promo style reminds me of Chris Jericho to an extent and his wrestling has improved to a good level. At some point, this reality show star became a legitimate star. It's almost the male equivalent of a Trish Stratus or Candice Michelle, who both came in with a low amount of respect because of their previous occupation but left the company on good graces with the fans because in all the years they worked to develop actual wrestling ability. Weird analogy? Sure, but can you argue it?

Love the blog Kev
I just thought it would be good to note something. I know that most people on the blog dont play video games, but on the newest edition of the Smackdown vs Raw 2011 video game, the cover is outfitted to have the faces of the respective brands on the cover. No of course under word WWE is John Cena, and under Smackdown is The Big Show, but under the word Raw the Miz.
So it looks like the Miz is now the face of Raw.

For a guy that used to talk about wanting to be a pro wrestler when he was on MTV's Real World 10 years ago, you have to give this guy some credit. He has definitely made it.

OK, that was very impressive and just plain AWESOME!
I agree with Horseman420. When the WWE finally turns him face, they'd better watch out. He may be poised to take over the top spot from Cena.
He had that crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.
Hey Eck, I seem to remember when you were not so high on The Miz. What are your thoughts on him, now? What a job he has done in evolving his character and his skills. He's easily the top (and sometimes, only) reason I watch Raw these days.
RESPONSE FROM KE: LIke a lot of people, I didn't see anything in The Miz for a while, but he won me over a while back. His transformation has been amazing.
