Kaval, hands down. Alex Riley looks like a potential star, but I don't get why Joe Henning is even still in the competition. Is he a much better wrestler than he is letting on? Because he sure doesn't have "it" in terms of star power. And, as much as I was rooting for Cody Rhodes in his Legacy days, I'm starting to question whether he has "it" either.
On a side note, I wish WWE would stop making wrestlers come to the ring with a t-shirt and wrestling tights on. I have enough trouble convincing my friends that wrestling isn't "gay" - a bunch of dudes sitting on stage with no pants on is NOT helping my case.

Though I like Alex Riley, I think Kaval needs it more than he does. Riley is ready and he can easily move to one of the rosters or act as a sidekick/bodyguard for The Miz. I'm afraid that if Kaval moves over he might get lost in the shuffle without the title match. And last season a heel won, Riley winning again would feel like a retread.

Kaval. He should win as he is far ahead of both Riley and McGilli-Hening in terms of ability, talent and promos too. This being WWE, however, I wouldn't be surprised to see Alex Riley win. But as a long-time Low-Ki fan, I hope he wins and that WWE push more guys like him, Danielson, Punk and, eventually, Tyler Black i.e. smaller guys (by WWE standards) with talent who can go in the ring. Here's hoping. . .

Kaval should win because he clearly possesses all of the attributes needed tobe the WWE's next breakout star.He has a tremendous aerial attack, combined with versatility and endurance.
I would love to see him land a spot on the Smackdown Brand, where his skills would be greatly appreciated. He would make more of an impact on Smackdown.

I responded with Kaval, like most others did, but my question to you: How could anyone reasonably vote for McGillicutty? What does he bring to the table? I could see voting for Riley, cause his promos are passable (though I believe they've been overpraised in on this site). Kaval is, as Kofi said, a ninja. What is McGillicutty, besides a legacy and a guy who just seems to be there?

Kaval and Riley both need to get bumped up to a real roster as quickly as possible, but Kaval should win because we don't need Riley and Miz both having title shots. I think that would just get ridiculous really quickly.
Also, Kev, I was wondering if you have any thoughts on the disconnect between NXT and Smackdown? Rhodes, Kofi, and MVP square off on NXT last week, then totally forget about it on smackdown, then Rhodes and MVP pick up the feud on NXT again. I don't like it at all, especially since Rhodes if finally showing real fire for the first time, but only on NXT, and I think combining that with his Dashing Smackdown gimmick might really push him over the top.

I'm voting Kaval, though I wouldn't be disappointed if Alex Riley won. I think both guys possess all of the requirements to make it in the company. Both are good wrestlers but even more important both guys are very skilled on the mic, which is where McGillicutty falters.

Kaval, of course, with honorable mention going to Riley, who is more of a "real" rookie to me. Ultimately, I imagine Riley and McHenning's peaks are higher in the WWE than Kaval's, but for now, he's been better than them.

Im gonna go with Mike McG,,,(as long as he eventually goes back to Hennig)
We already have Bourne/Mysterio holding the "little guy to root for" and although Riley has the promo skllls I haven't seen anything that impressive in-ring
(then again thats hard to do when MVP/Rhodes take up the whole show).
Hennig has been the most consistent and can easily play a face or a heel role.

I think that Kaval deserves to win, but knowing how WWE has done buisiness lately, it's probably going to be Alex Riley or Joe Hennin.....uhh, i mean....Michael McGillicutty.

Haven't watched a minute of the show, so I've gotta go with the only guy I have any interest in: Kavel. Like to see him and Bryan team up.

Of the rookies introduced in this season, I believe that everybody except for O'Neil, Cottonwood and Cannon proved themselves as being ready to be on WWE television. I'd like to see all three of these guys make it, really, but if I have to pick one it's gotta be Kaval. He's the most experienced, the most unique, and the most exciting to watch in the ring.

Kaval - easy.
Hennig needs a complete makeover. Remember, his father started out in the WWF as a fairly bland jobber. He got a completely new look developing in the AWA - with long curly bleached-blond hair and "enhanced" muscles. Work on that kind of transformation in the minors for a year. Then come back with a new name - like his real name - the name that worked for his father and grandfather.
Riley - find him a young tag-team partner with better in-ring skills (maybe the Australian kid on the first NXT) and let him develop like Miz did.

This is just my opinion (obviously) but I'm pretty sure a lot of your readers would agree. Some wrestlers have a certain "magic" that hits you right from the word go.Ones I think have it are: Mysterio, Kaval, Punk, Bourne,Morrison, Danielson for the small/medium guys. Cena, Orton, Jericho, Edge for the bigger guys. To me these people are always worth watching. People like Miz, Reilly are really only nuisance value and although good on the mic do not have a lot else. I'm just saying.

I ended up going with Kaval, even though he'll probably get buried along with Evan Bourne and all those that came before him. All three left bring something to the table: McGillicutty has the "look", Riley has the mic skills, and Kaval has the in ring ability. I don't think any of them possess all three, but Kaval can actually wrestle, and that should be the most important factor.

Kaval should win, and needs to. He's the best all-round performer on the show, but at the moment he doesn't have the advantage of a ready-made feud waiting for him after NXT like Daniel Bryan did.
Riley's impressive on the mic, but doesn't need to win as much as Kaval does - he could easily appear on RAW after NXT as a sidekick to the Miz.
Mike McGillicutty (why, why, why not Joe Hennig? WHY?!) has been impressive on NXT, but not to the level of his two rivals. He's not far off, but Kaval and RIley have the edge for me.

I don't know if it matters who wins. This group is likely to form an alliance and try to take over Monday Night Raw. Will they succeed? Lets waste a pay per view to find out.

After watching everyone, I would like to see Kaval win, but at the same time, I would like to see Riley join Nexus. Kaval doesn't have the "badness factor" for lack of a better term.
Joe Hennig would be someone I would also like to see in Nexus to bring himself some heat. Most of us remember his dad and while that may get him in the door, he needs to do something different to bring himself out.
Finally, Husky Harris needs to join Nexus as well. Since they need to replace Skip Shefield, Huskey would be their guy.

Kaval/ Low-Ki as the next breal out star? If the Big Show sits on him, goodbye Kaval. Granted, he is talented- but just not WWE material. Needs to go back to TNA where his talents would be more appreciated. Alex Riley? The Miz clone who wants to revive the varsity squad? There's a reason why they're gone- and Riley should be too. Admit both have more "IT" factor than McGillicutty/ Hennig, but not by much, and I think Mike/ Joe can overcome this with his wrestling skills, using them to speak for himself. He has the most potential out of the three, and I think the WWE would be silly to let him slip by. Can easily see him easily following in his fathers' footsteps.

It looks like the overall vote is for Kaval/ Low-Ki. He has the most experience, and is no "rookie"- but I have a problem with his size. Yes, we have Rey, and Evan Bourne, even Punk; but if the WWE does take him in- I pray that they reinstate the Light Weight Championship. I think the fans want to see the "big boys" have their title, and the "speedy high-flyer risk-takers" have their own. It used to be that way- and I don't see why they changed it. Made the show much more interesting. Hate seeing the little guys get trounced whenever they go for the Title. Suggest changing the Intercontinental/ U.S. belts to a middle-weight class, add a light-weight belt, and keep the heavy weight. Make it a rule that you can go up in class, if you dare- but you can't go down. Give the smaller "high-flyers" a realistic chance for gold. Not many Rey Mysterios out there.

Anyone that thinks Riley should win is being ignorant. Kaval should win cause he has potential and never gives up. And michael well he should be second, just cause his daddy is MR. PERFECT doesn't mean he should be perfect junior

kaval is the best one, hope he wins
Posted by: Candy | August 28, 2010 12:45 AM
Alex Riley for sure. Michael McGillicutty looks good but lacks the "It" factor. Kaval is very cool, but it's WRESTLING. I'm not sure that kicking guys 50 times in a single match and stomping people off the top rope is wrestling. Seems more like WWE's attempt to draw in MMA fans. Alex Riley looks great physically and can wrestle well. He knows how to talk and work the crowd. Chances are though they'll all come back like season one did so why does it matter?

i hope kaval wins
Posted by: sharae | August 31, 2010 10:24 AM
I would like to see Kaval win although he was trained by two divas who dont train as well as men ,he was able fight through he top and become no 1 on the pros poll for the past weeks .Alex Riley is the cockiest peron i have ever seen just like the miz and iwould never like to see him wrestle in WWE.Althogh i hate the miz what he said about Michael McGillicutty was true he is mediocre.
