Kurt Angle video interview

Here is an interview I conducted with TNA star Kurt Angle recently at The National Sports Collectors Convention at The Baltimore Convention Center.

One question had to be edited out because of audio difficulties, but I have transcribed it below.

Q: How are you feeling physically?

A: Right now I’m fine. My knees, my lower back and my neck are always stiff, but from a working perspective I haven’t felt better. Since I started professional wrestling in late ’99, early 2000, I think this is probably the best I’ve felt, and it has a lot to do with the reduced work schedule in TNA where they’re not using me at every house show. So having that lighter schedule has allowed my body to recuperate more.

Kevin,

Angle comes off as very sincere and authentic in this interview. Have some of his recent personal problems given him some perspective?
How have you found him to deal with over the years?

RESPECTIVE FROM KE: I've interviewed him a handful of times over the years and he has always been very easy to deal with.

Nice little interview, Kevin. Angle is a great star, and the best guy in TNA. Glad you asked about Morgan and Wolfe, although Kurt gave a diplomatic answer. I do think we're going to see him back in the WWE at some point, for one last run, and hopefully a DVD retrospective.

Three things he said, though, made me laugh:

"...wrestling in front of 10-20,000 people..." (it's been a few years since he's done that).

"...WWE films make a lot of money..." (name one)

"...Ric Flair can't wrestle forever, and he knows that..." (I don't think he does...)

Thanks Kevin as always for the great interview. It's cool, unlike 99% of online wrestling website people, that you actually talk to the wrestlers and know them.

Short but sweet, good stuff. Definitely have to listen hard to get some of the answers but that looked like a really bad area to have to do an interview in. At least you got it.

Great interview. I'm glad to hear Kurt doesn't have an overblown ego and is easy to deal with. I don't think it can be said enough that he was cleared of those recent charges (as covered well in this blog) and also doesn't go around Angle-slamming journalists.

I hope they found that Bart Starr ticket.
