Chris Jericho a candidate for Dancing with the Stars?
WWE star Chris Jericho was among the celebrities mentioned as potential cast members for the upcoming season of ABC's “Dancing with the Stars” in an associatedcontent.com story.
The writer makes it clear in the story that nothing is confirmed and she is merely speculating on “some celebrity names that have been floating around.”
If Jericho – who was considered for the show last season – does end up as a contestant, he would have to take a break from WWE because DWTS airs live on Monday and Tuesday nights.
The new season of DWTS begins on Sept. 20. The cast lineup will be announced next month.
Jericho is currently the host of the summer game show "Downfall," which also airs on ABC.

The way this is going for Jericho I get the feeling he may pull a Stacy Keibler and just end up leaving wwe once his contract is up.

This news now makes his hosting job on "Downfall" his de facto audition for "Dancing with the Stars." I've enjoyed watching "Downfall" for the few episodes it's been on. From what I've seen throughout his career, I think Jericho's got enough charisma for DWTS, and I'm sure the tango, cha cha, waltz, etc. can be shoehorned into his list of 1,004 holds.

RESPONSE FROM KE: Yeah, take it for what it's worth. I think I made it clear that it's purely speculation. However, with Jericho doing the ABC game show and the fact that he was a candidate for DWTS last season, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's under consideration.

I've never really understood the Jericho craze. I'll give him his due with a mic, but his out-of-the-ring behavior makes him a poor choice for DWTS. If the show wanted to embrace a wrestler, I can think of many others besides Jericho -- Big Show, HHH, or even Morrison. I know you're a big Jericho fan, Kev, but he's definitely not one of my favorites.

I thought WWE wasn't too thrilled with him hosting "Downfall", and there was a rumor to the effect that's why he's had to job so much lately....I can only imagine if he took the DWTS gig, what they would do (cringe at the thought of the new team of Jeriwoggle!)
