Fatal Fourway preview
Predictions for tonight’s WWE pay-per-view:
WWE champion John Cena vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus in a fatal fourway match: Wade Barrett has a guaranteed title shot against a champion of his choosing on pay-per-view, and it seems logical for Cena to be the champion he faces, so therefore I expect Cena to come out on top in this match.
World heavyweight champion Jack Swagger vs. The Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk in a fatal fourway match: The wild-card in this match is Kane, who has vowed that it will be a “fatal night for the guilty party” that attacked The Undertaker. I think Swagger will somehow manage to retain his title. Mysterio has pinned Swagger on the past two Smackdowns, and based on WWE booking trends, that almost guarantees that Mysterio isn’t winning. I don’t see Big Show getting the belt, either. Punk winning wouldn’t shock me, but I think it’s more likely to be Swagger.
Intercontinental champion Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre: After the heated angle with McIntyre and Smackdown general manager Teddy Long on Smackdown Friday night, it makes sense to get the belt back on McIntyre. Another possible scenario is that the “suspended” Matt Hardy interferes and costs McIntyre the match.
U.S. champion The Miz vs. R-Truth: I was surprised that R-Truth lost the title to The Miz on Raw Monday. I’m betting that he regains it tonight.
WWE Divas champion Eve Torres vs. Alicia Fox vs. Gail Kim vs. Maryse in a fatal fourway match: I’d like to see Kim get the title here, but I seriously doubt that’s going to happen. My guess is that Maryse wins the title by pinning Kim, although Eve retaining the championship wouldn’t surprise me.
Note: There also will likely be an angle with the NXT faction, as they gave Raw general manager Bret Hart until tonight to give them an answer on their demand for WWE contracts. It’s interesting, by the way, that Chris Jericho is not booked on this show.

Comments
Kevin, Wade Barrett was fired by Bret Hart and lost his guaranteed title shot. That;s not to say the WWE couldn't reverse that decision but it does justify the storyline if they decide to go another way.

No Jericho? No problem. Orton gets beat up backstage and is unable to wrestle. Jericho is installed as his replacement and walks away with the belt.

I guess I never did the math and realized there are only five contests scheduled. (They couldn't at least have added the other Divas championship?) It's amazing to me that WWE honestly expects people to pay for this program.
And BTW, I think that every time some lower-carder gets a "free championship match of your choosing" and beelines straight for the big two titles, it cheapens the lower-level titles. A couple of years of NXT and MITB winners going for the US and IC titles would have the double effect of both restoring a little more respect to those belts, and making it all the more interesting when somebody finally shoots straight for the Heavyweight.

It would make sense to me to have Big Show win the championship, so Jack Swagger can beat him straight-up in a match next month to boost his profile as a bona fide champion. WWE has done a good jump boosting Big Show as a contender, so a four-week reign would be appropriate.
Conversely, having Jack Swagger sneak out a victory here isn't going to get him over any more than he already is. That said, I still expect Swagger retains.

I think that while Kane is assaulting the 2 big guys, Punk hits the GTS on an already weakened Mysterio. I mean, his character has changed since the haircut, and a bone will be thrown for shock value, and to see how he goes over as a masked champion.
If NXT interferes, Cena wont even have to win. But I like your thoughts of him retaining to face Barrett. Strange to me how they all have become heels! therefore, I look for season 2 rookies to come to WWE rescue. The ole 1st season heels, vs 2nd season faces?

I'm telling you! Chris Jericho is the leader of the NXT faction!!!

I think Chris Jericho may be on his way out. with his recent booking (or should i just call it jobbing), and his contract expiring in september with rumoured disagreements about re-negotiating, i think that there's a chance we may be seeing the end of him for a while.

Do you even watch wrestling?! Most of these predictions are un reasonable. Cena Beat Batista twice. I think hes got his share of winnings . Edge has been on top of Randy Orton for weeks now. And Sheamus has dominated . RANDY ORTON DUH. Rey has also had his wins over the past weeks .CM Punk with his mask and outsmarting the WWE universe will not win. Jack Swagger has had his title for WAAAY too long. so OBVIOUSLY BIG SHOW. Mclntyre has been on top of EVERYBODY since his alliance with Vince McMahon . But Vince cant be his pillow to fall on whenever drew makes a mistake so Kofi KIngston will win.Maryse is winning it all in divas. Shes lost way too much against Eve . Her temper will help her win this match.By the way i have tickets to this event so if your watching on TV ill have a sign that says EGYPT with an arrow pointing down at me.

Perhaps this is a stretch, but with WWE promoting the "anything can happen" matra this week I would like to make the following prediction: NXT takes out Randy Orton early on, forcing Bret Hart to insert Wade Barrett into the 4-way, where he wins the WWE Championship. I have a hunch they want to do something "shocking" tonight, and that's my best bet.

I thought Barrett lost his title shot when he was fired last week?
RESPONSE FROM KE: He did. I think I was fast-forwarding the story line in my head. When the NXT guys get their contracts -- as we know they will -- I figured Barrett would also get his title shot back.

I halfway expect for Barrett to cash in his title shot right after the WWE title match ends.

Wow, surprising results. I think they read your blog Kev and do the opposite =)
RESPONSE FROM KE: Good thing I'm not a betting man!

Interesting results tonight, perhaps as others have suggested under the idea of "anything can happen." Although to be fair, much of the show's theme revolved around the NXT invasion.

Egypt, if you are going to be condescending and bragadocious, you really look pretty bad when you are as wrong as you were.

don't you even watch these things????
Didn't Cena beat Batista 3 times?

Bob Buscaglia: "Egypt, if you are going to be condescending and braggadocios, you really look pretty bad when you are as wrong as you were."
LOL! And don't forget his sign pointing down at him; as I'm sure a lot of people were already looking down on him when they read the tone in those predictions.
