TNA Impact rating goes up -- slightly
Not surprisingly, the return of TNA Impact to its old Thursday night time slot led to an increase in the ratings, but not as big of one as may have been expected.
Thursday’s episode did a 0.9 rating, up from the final Monday show on May 3 that did a 0.8. Impact had bottomed out with a 0.5 on the April 26 show that went head-to-head with WWE’s three-hour draft episode of Raw.
Before TNA moved Impact to Mondays on March 8, the show had averaged a 1.2 over the previous eight Thursdays, including a 1.4 on Jan. 28.
If Impact does not get back up over the 1.0 mark in the next couple weeks, that’s obviously a bad sign.

It seems that both WWE and TNA are stuck in old mentalities.
WWE thinks giving someone a WWE or World Heavyweight belt gets them over. They've never really learned that you get someone over FIRST - THEN give them the belt. (ie the Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, Shawn Micheals, Bret Hart - they all got over first.)
TNA (ie Vince Russo and Hogan) think that the smut (and old men) from the mid 90's is still what people want to see.
Let me clue them in. We want great matches with mostly athletic guys (not muscled up hulks who have 2 moves).
We want creative but realistic story lines. Bret Hsrt said it well - Story lines have to at least PRETEND to be real. And we want those story lines revolving around more than just the champions.
We want new stars, but we want them to be built up first before being the champion.
We want promos done from the heart, not from some Hollywood writer who has never been in the ring.
We also want a mid card (ie Intercontinetal champions and Tag team champions) that are taken seriously. And the tag team champs should have several teams to choose from. We don't want established stars thrown togther just for the hell of it. And those tag teams should watch old Rockers, LOD and Hart Foundation tapes.
And we want Morrison, MVP, Miz, R-Truth, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston to get real pushes. And we want them in matches that are longer. Not 3 minutes or less.
It's not that hard really. I'll always be a wrestling fan and love good matches, but a lot of people who are making the decisions behind the scenes need to wake up and realize how simple it is to bring back the screaming fans.

From Dixie's FB page:
"If you are not a Neilsen ratings reporter, you can still help TNA's ratings by recording iMPACT! on your DVR and watching it within 3 days. Every one of you who do that will be counted."
Hey, I thought TNA moved to Thursday Nights... Again because that is what the fans wanted!
When an owner has to beg fans to watch their show, this cannot be a good sign.
I am just amazed that Santa with Muscles and co. are so arrogant to think that it was just the Monday night move that led to disastrous ratings. Your summation of Thursdays Impact! (pee breaks, WCW storylines, Hall wearing the belt, far talented wrestlers forced to job to put over bums) sums up what TNA is offering fans.
Wrestle Crap.

Here,Here Rob, well put, as stated both feds woefully underestimate their true fan base and what they want. I congratulate you sir as the first person to address both federations with what they lack, and what we want, instead of this silly back and forth week after week charade of how lame TNA and Russo are or WWE & Vince, I myself stand corrected for foolishly doing the same. Always one to stand up for the underdog I may at times slam WWE in a way that is directed to UP TNA, wrong attitude by me and I am wrong. We as wrestling fans know what we want, why the Russo's & McMahons of the world do not listen is sheer arrogance. But both of these men have that tied up in spades. WWE has soo much talent they don't know what to do with it, sadly they lay to waste so many top performers via politics and constantly leave the fans on the back burner. TNA in way to many instances over compensates for the "little brother" syndrome that predominates their thinking, it seems every time they really get things going in the right direction they change courses, leaving the fan confused and frankly pissed. Get back to pushing Hernandez,Eric Young,AJ,Joe,DeAngelo,Lethal,Hardy,RVD etc. These are the guys we want pushed, let Hogan & Flair be management figures,Bischoff the same. They could have an amazing mix of new and old, just leave the old on the outside not fighting for belts, and watching guys like Beer Money basically disappear for weeks on end. It was so much better in the 80's when there were numerous territories with cable shows on 3-4 days a week, twice in the weekends, half of the shows were terrible,so what, when it hit it was gold. Every minute of every show doesn't need to be eligible for an Emmy, throw it out there and let the fans decide what they like, wrestling has always had the simplest of formulas, now it seems any miss is the total damnation of the federation, enough already, WWE is far from perfect, they have the means that will far exceeded any other FED for a long time, who cares,we want wrestling, how can you guys go to an Independent show and love it but the minute a show hits TV it has to be perfect? If we would watch and stop killing these guys on the internet so much maybe we could see ROH on USA,MD Championship Wrestling on ESPN 2, it used to happen all the time. I vote it happens again. Lets get a groundswell going the more wrestling on TV the better, for the fan and the Fed, they sell more tickets and we see more wrestling, plain and simple. Please lets make a PUSH.
