Ring Posts: Three years and counting

I realized this afternoon that yesterday (May 16) marked the three-year anniversary of Ring Posts. The blog has grown well beyond anything that I envisioned back in 2007, and I’m not saying that to pat myself on the back, but rather to thank everyone reading this who has made that possible.

During my 20-plus year career at The Baltimore Sun, I frequently floated the idea of writing a pro wrestling column, but, not unexpectedly, the powers that be never seriously considered it. The Internet changed that thinking, however.

In my industry, it’s all about the page views now, and specialized blogs have become a commodity. Some people at The Sun had suggested that I write a wrestling blog, but I balked at taking on extra work for no extra money. After a while, I decided to do it because I enjoy writing and I thought it might be fun.

In all honesty, my philosophy when I first started Ring Posts was “you get what you pay for.” I figured I’d write a few blog entries a week, basically whenever I felt like doing so. Ultimately, however, I couldn’t live with putting my name on something that I wasn’t proud of. So I started writing more frequently, and as the audience grew, so did the pressure I put on myself to make it as good as possible.

I also have a bit of a competitive nature, and when the weekly blog metrics reports came out, I began to take pride in seeing Ring Posts consistently in the top three-to-five out of 30-plus blogs on baltimoresun.com.

It’s incredibly gratifying that people actually care what I have to say about a subject that I have been passionate about since I was in the first grade. It still amazes me every time I read a comment from someone from places such as England, Ireland, France and Australia.

It’s a challenge trying to balance writing the blog and watching eight-plus hours of wrestling per week with my duties as an assistant sports editor and family commitments, but Ring Posts remains a labor of love.

Thanks again for making it worthwhile.

Congrats Kev,

let me tell you, your blog is one of the only reasons I still pay any attention to pro wrestling, and I like that I can read along with yours, and then tune in and actually have a clue what's going on if I haven't seen the show(s) in a while.
Keep up the good work, and keep pissing off the ignorants out there!

Congrats sir, your high standards make for must reading.
richard

Thank YOU Kevin and keep up the great work. This blog has enhanced my viewing experience every week due to your insightful analysis and objective point of view. I used to bookmark a bunch of wrestling websites but ever since I found yours, I don't even bother to read them. If you ever need a take a break from the blog, I'm sure everyone will understand.
Congrats on the success of the blog and here's to another great 3+ years.

Hands down Kevin you and Mike Mooneyham from Charleston(do you know him) have the best blogs on wrestling on the net. Youre knowledgeable not only about the current generation of wrestling but the past and have enough clarity to see the future of wrestling. Ive seen this before posted that guys will come here first to see your take on TNA shows before they decide to watch it and im so guilty of that. If you say its trash i wont even bother. So ill say it here first im a Kevin Eck mark lol. Please keep writing and congrats on three years strong.

Kevin,
Thank you for such a great blog. I've been reading for several years, and have always found your analysis to be spot-on. I work rotating shifts, and am not always able to catch a given episode, but I can always read Ring Posts. Keep up the excellent writing.
BTW, when are you gonna guest host RAW? :)

Enough sappy stuff. When are the weekly entries for ROH, CZW, AAA, New Japan, and All Japan going to start? And what happened to the list of Jim Ross' fifty best matches called?

Just kidding.

Kev .. thanks for all the great work. Your blog is a must visit every day and I love the insight you give us fans. Thanks.

Keep up the good work, Kevin! Best wrestling blog on the Internet.

I don't exactly remember how I am across this site, being as I live all the way in Wisconsin, but I appreciate the good work you do. Keep it up.

Thank you, Kevin! The blog rocks, and we appreciate all you do!

I've been reading your blog for about a year and a half now and I really appreciate and enjoy reading it. Thanks for all your time spent giving commentary on WWE and TNA.

My birthday is on May 16 so the blog and I share the celebration :)

Thank you kev, your hard work is appreciated

No, thank you Mr. Eck.

If that was a Raw promo, you would have had to use the term WWE Universe.

Congratulations on the achievement. I'm sure I speak for most when I say I appreciate what you do and enjoy reading your opinions.

Keep it going and keep up the stellar work.

Congratulations Kev. There is an appetite for reliable information on professional wrestling and thanks to your blog it has been satiated. You have found quite a niche.

Thank you Kevin for your sacrifice and for all your hard work. Your blog is a daily stop for me.

Happy Anniversary Ring Posts. Thanks for writing the blog, as it is my favorite place for wrestling news and opinion.

Congrats Kev! You and Phil Strum are my two favorites.

As an Englishman in living in Australia who can't get access to watch wwe right now, i rely on your blogs and will youtube anything that i think deserves a watch.
Love the blog and sit refreshing the page until a new report comes on!!

Thank you Kevin! This is the best part of the Baltimore Sun. I enjoy your thoughts on everything from Chubba to Cena. Keep up the OUTSTANDING work. Even here in College Station, TX I read your blog and it makes me feel like I am home again (orginally from Baltimore). Anyway, thanks again for all you do. BTW, going to my first TNA house show in Houston this Saturday night

Take your right fist and raise it high. You have done something special.

Thanks dude.

This is the best wrestling blog out there, bar none... even better than J.R.'s, which is saying a lot because J.R.'s blog is incredibly good.

I enjoy reading your takes on things, your reviews of shows and perhaps even moreso your "best of" lists and miscellaneous wrestling news, reflections & analysis... and I also really value the community of commenters this blog attracts.

Reading Ring Posts enhances my enjoyment of a lifelong love of pro wrestling... adds a lot to my day.

Happy anniversary Kevin. Hope there's many more. Thanks for adding to my enjoyment of wrestling.

Thank you, Kevin. It's a pleasure reading your blogs and I appreciate the effort you put into it.

To amaze you once more, here's another comment from England!

Keep up the good work - this is one of the best wrestling blogs I've found

Thanks for taking the time and writing this blog. I read it on a regular basis, for me it´s a good way to find out what I missed from the weekly shows as we in Germany get to see only 1 hour of RAW and 1 hour of SD. (So be amazed: I´m from Germany, lol.)
Besides that I like your humour and your writing style and I really appreciate that you are doing this without getting money for it. A labor of love, indeed.
On to the next 3 years and beyond I hope.

You forgot to mention South Africa! :)

I've been a loyal reader since the very beginning and rely on your updates, opinions and insights into something I've been following since '89.

Congratulations and keep up the great work!

Kevin

It might interest you to know that you have a regular reader as far away as Malaysia.

Thanks for all the good work.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into the blog. Since I came across it a little over 2 years ago, this blog is a daily check for fun and interesting comments about all things wrestling. You have even had an impact on how I watch wrestling. There are so many times in every show where I think, "I can't wait to read Eck's take on this." I even know that if I miss an episode for whatever reason, I can always turn here to get a recap and keep up on any happenings.

Again, thanks for the time and effort and I hope you continue to keep it up in the years to come.

Thank you Eck! Thank you Eck! Thank you Eck!

As a wrestling starved Swede, it's always a treat reading this blog. One of the better ones out there really.

maybe you should list your accompisments from ringpost

i know! start with how u got bubba fired

Kevin,
No, thank you!

Pleasure is ours. I am from England, but I'm backpacking around New Zealand, Australia and China and I use ringposts to keep me up to date whenever I can! Then I know what to find when I get home!

Keep up the good work Kevin. Your column is a real treat for wrestling fans across the net.

Happy anniversary, Kevin! Love the column, and I check it about everyday. (Then I read the rest of the Sun! That was for your bosses...) Keep up the great work on this blog!

We have to thank you, Kev, for the incredible blog. 2 years ago I was done with wrestling and it was mainly your blog and your entertaining writings that sparked my interest for it again.

It amazes you that you have readers from Ireland, Australia and England, etc?!
Well, how about this. I am from Bosnia and Hercegovina (it's a country in southeast Europe), and I read your blog every day. They don't even broadcast wrestling here, and a lot of people don't know what it is.

Keep up the good work, and I hope your blog lasts a lot of years more.

Un commentaire venu de France!
(Just for you to be amazed one more time)

To be a little bit more serious, great blog! I have been following it for a year and a half now. I may not ever have the same opinion than you but it's always a pleasure to read your thoughts ont he shows or the interviews you make.

I followed the WWE on french TV when I was a kid but I drop as I get older. And wrestling (both amateur and pro) came back to me when I spent 6 month in the Oklahoma State University. A lot of people were really into it there! And that's when I start reading you.

I hope you'll keep this blog going for a long time!

While I do not comment very often, I want you to know that I appreciate Ring Posts. I can't always watch the TV and I count on you to let me know what is going on. Thanks again for a great job.

Add New Zealand to that list Kev - love your work.

I have been a consistent reader for about a year now, since I found your wrestling blog....THANKS for taking the time and for doing/posting some great interviews. I am a paying member of another wrestling insider website-however I can honestly say that your stuff is just as good/sometimes better than the content I read elsewhere...Congrats on 3 years-I look forward to many more.

Well you can add the far, far away country of Portugal on that list! :)

No, I say thank you. The ring post is the first thing I check when I log on at work. They say opinions are like "anderson holes",but to read good debate and opinions like the ones on this site, makes watching wrestling even more enjoyable. (Even though the product is somewhat stale in this era)So I say thank you for creating a great outlet for this wrestling fan, but no thank you to the 5% decrease in work production you bring each week.

I definitely appreciate all the work you put into this blog Kev, between the reviews, previews and interviews! Every day after WWE and TNA programming, I eagerly refreshing your blog, waiting for it to update.

Thanks for all the effort mate,

pleasure to read your thoughts even though you do form most of my opinions on the wrestling scene..

thanks again keep it up!

All the way from Oxford, UK

No Thank you Kevin! I love reading your blog! It is the highlight of my morning when a new blog entry is up and I check it at least two or three times to a day to see if anything new pops up. Keep up the good work!

Hi Kevin from Melbourne Australia.

Congratulations on the 3 years. I am a mad wrestling fanatic and have been so for over 30 years. I am attending the upcoming Smackdown show with my wife being held in Melbourne in August. My 3 year old daughter also loves the wrestling (thanks to me).

I stumbled across your website earlier this year and it is now one of my daily rituals to visit your site to see what is happening in the wrestling community.

Keep up the great work and wrestling fans here in Australia appreciate all the effort you put into this website.

Regards

Con

Thank you for your efforts.

kev good job even the btls is behind you!!!!

Best blog going. Access + insight = ratings!

Congrats ECK

Congrats Kevin! I enjoy reading the blog and appreciate all of your work. Congrats should also be extended I think to all of the readers (leaving comments or not) who have helped make it such a success. Here's to another three years and beyond!

Thanks for making it worthwhile to read.

I'm a relatively new pro-wrestling fan and, having come from a background of watching "proper" sport, for the first few months of watching pro-wrestling I really felt it was lacking in a written concise journalistic approach and analysis. Then I discovered Ringposts after frantically Googling, and now reading your post-show write ups have become part of my thrice-weekly routine - no show or event is complete without heading over to see what you thought.

I'm not much of a commenter - I'm still a bit too green to think my opinion is worth anything - but this seemed an apposite post to say how much I enjoy the blog. Three years and counting, indeed.

(Oh, and I'm English, so there's one for the amazement stakes.)

Congrats on your 3-year anniversary, Kevin. Your blog is the most objective pro wrestling blog on the Web, and something I look forward to reading every day. Here's to many more years of Ring Posts!

Kevin,

Anybody can write a blog. Not everybody can write a great blog. That's what makes you special. Your passion and knowledge of the game makes Ring Posts special. Don't ever lose these qualities and you will never lose your loyal following. Here's to the next three years.

Congrats, Kevin. Been reading regularly for over a year now.

Kev,

Love the blog and the majority of content on it. I really like your independent views on the majority of subjects. Yes you mark out every now and again but don't we all?

Plus, you're a wonderful man and president of the Vince Russo fan club. Good job Kevin!

Plus, you're a cool dude and president of the Bubba the Love Sponge fan club! Good job Kevin!

Kevin,

Congratulations on the success of the blog, and for your hard work and devotion in keeping us fans informed. Here's hoping you have many more successful years covering the business.

and we thank you for your tireless efforts on behalf of some very talented men and women who as athletic actors and actresses keep us entertained in that sometimes amazing, sometimes controversial, sometimes dynamic sports entertainment called wrestling. Your insight, your fairness, your opinions pro and con have been fun to read, and fun to think about, and you have served us and your childhood passion well. Thanks again and here is to many more multiple three year anniversaries. :)

Congrats, Kev.....I love reading your stuff

Congrats on three years Kevin. I appreciate this column immensely... not saying I couldn't live without it, but it does help the week go by nicely!

As a fellow journalist who does a different kind of blog for a different newspaper, I have three things to say: Thank you! Congratulations! And... they should kick a little extra your way. There's no reason for me to visit the Baltimore Sun online, but I do so on a near-daily basis to get here what I can't find anywhere else - intelligent commentary like yours.

Happy Anniversary Kevin, it took me a really long time (years) to find a blog such as this without all the fluff. Other sites I have read over the years drove me nuts with their long winded dribble columnists. Ring Posts is the first site I read on a daily basis before another news wrestling website.

Here's to many more years.

Kevin, thank you for taking your time to write this blog. Even here in Germany I know lots of people who enjoy reading your blog on a daily basis. To me, it is fun to get a closer look at the pro wrestling business as well as detailed reviews of shows. Keep up the good work.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you very much for your great blog. It's been a great read and a great inspiration for me since I discovered it, at the end of 2008. The first thing I did was to go back to the beginnings of your blog and read everything you wrote in a row. Then, with some friends, here in France, we eventually decided that since we liked so much watching and reading about wrestling, we should do a site ourselves, for the French fans. So we made our site, www.cahiersducatch.com, and it's been great to write about wrestling all this time, with a good success by French standards. All this time, we have been reading avidly your blog and have often compared our thoughts with yours. A lot of our readers also read your blog, and while it probably wasn't your first concern when you created Ringposts, I'm sure that you have helped a lot of us to improve in English. :-)

Thanks a lot for all, and I hope that you will always have enough energy to keep this great blog running.

Oh, and we would be happy to provide you with some great catchphrases to tell Maryse when you get to interview her.

Congratulations, Kevin. Thanks for providing us with the reading. And also thanks go to the Sun.

Thank you, Kevin, for three thoroughly entertaining years. Here's to many more!!

Thank you Kevin! I look forward to reading each new entry - it's a highlight of my day when I get to read a new one. Thanks again!

Kevin - Pro wrestling fans truly appreciate your efforts and sacrifice of your personal time to write this informative and fun blog. Thank you!

Thanks for the greatest three years I've ever had Kevin. I can't wait to go out to celebrate our anniversary. I can't celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife anymore because she left me because of my addiction to your ringposts. Much love and see you tonight Sideburns McCutey.

Happy Anniversary Kevin. Hard to believe it but time flies when you're having fun.
Looking for a complimentary song, try Happy Anniversary by the Little River Band

Kevin:

Thanks for all of your hard work keeping the blog going...you do the wrestling industry justice with your work. Despite being a Ravens fan you're OK in my book.

Many thanks for your words every week Kev, wrestling has a bit of a stigma in the UK and depending on company I sometimes hide my wrestling DVD collection! It is great to have a place to read thoughts of yourself and other wrestling fans without seeing the dreaded ***SPOILER ALERT*** warning next to every headline.

Keep up the excellent work, and thank your wife for all the extra hours you dedicate to this blog!

Congrats on 3 years. I enjoy reading your blogs be it on my laptop, desktop or my blackberry. I grew up a wrestling fan and its been fun being reminded of the old wrasslin days as well as your updates on todays show. Here's to 3 more and beyond.

Congratulations on three great years Kevin!
I always look forward to visiting the blog and reading your insights. In my opinion this blog is by far the best critique of pro wrestling around today.
Keep up the great work!

And thanks for writing! I don't always agree with everything you write but you always have good stuff and interesting opinions regardless. Thank you also for being consistent and writing about all the weekly shows, a lot of pro wrestling blogs can barely be bothered to update more than once or twice a month.

As long as you keep writing, I'll keep visiting everyday. :)

No, thank you Kevin. Looking for a blog update is more than always the first thing i do when i turn on my laptop. But don't forget Scotland, haha. We provided Drew McIntyre!

Hey! What about seeing someone from Sweden commenting? ;)

I followed this blog for a long while and i check it several days a week. Thanks for a great blog!
/Stefan From Sweden

May your blog have a longer run than Bruno's Championship reign.

Let the good times roll...... And I don't want to put any sort of pressure on you... but maybe, just maybe, you're best is yet to come.
Thank you for all the blogs. I really enjoyed it from past 1 and the half years. My fav. has to be all the interviews you did with Chris Jericho. Maybe I am bit biased, as I am a big Jerichoholic.
And I have one final request. I sometimes do wish that you interview Bret Hart someday. Now that would be really interesting.

*chants* Thank you Kev! Thank you Kev!

You deserve a pat on the back. You are by and large objective, refrain from repeating rumours and your years of experience in Wrestling make your blogs insightful and thoughtprovoking. Good basic journalism. As JR would say: " Shades of Gordon Solie" Here's to the next three.

Kevin,

I came across your blog completely by accident when you started 3 years, and have read it ever since although I've never commented before.

I don't watch much wrestling now but I still read the blog as it's more entertaining than the subject matter you're writing about.

Keep up the good work Kev (a fan in England).

Go Eck!

Kev -

Appreciate all your hard work. This is my first stop for wrestling news.

Congrats Kevin. I visit your blogs every day to get my wrestling fix. I always seem to agree with everything you write. Keep up the good work!

Kevin,

Congratulations on your three year anniversary.
I'm one of those Australians and i really do adore reading your almost daily blog entries.

My passion for pro wrestling has waned a lot over the years but reading your blog and nerdily (not a word, i know) comparing your thoughts on the tv's to my own has really rekindled my interest in the business, so thankyou Mr. Eck.

Long may Ringposts continue.

The best there is, the best there was... someone get a US belt for Kevin!

Thanks for all the work you put into this blog with all the reports.

Yours is one of only 3 wrestling blogs I bother to read, but I'd rate yours numero uno just for the fact you cover all the main shows, and you also cover TNA!

Here's to another 3 years... and maybe a few more after that!

Kia ora and congrats Kev. I've been reading your blog from New Zealand for over a year and It's the only wrestling blog I read. Wrestling isn't big over here so I like being able to keep updated through your blog.

Keep up the good work and thanks for your efforts. They are much appreciated!

kevi, you are due for a heel turn.

Nice work!

Congrats! Keep up the awesome work.

I've enjoyed every posting, and it has really got me back into wrestling after missing several years in the early 2000s

I really enjoy this blog. After work I come home, eat, spend time with my kids and read your blog to help me unwind. Thank you.

Kevin,

Happy 3 years...here's to many more.

Kev,

I just had to join in the congratulatory remarks and offer my own thoughts of good will towards your sterling efforts with this blog. I follow all your entries with great intrigue and I always look forward to your next Raw/Smackdown review. Over the months that I have been following your take on all things wrestling, I have grown to agree with almost everything that you say. You, good sir, are standard that all other wrestling bloggers should aspire to, and for that, I congratulate you. Please, keep up the good work - we're all counting on you!

Regards,

Andy, all the way from sunny England.

Another international reader here from New Zealand (go south to Australia then turn left...)

Love your input every week and I find it interesting to read about TNA as we don't get it here.

As I work different shifts every week I don't always get to see the WWE shows here, so your commentary keeps me in the loop as to whats going on.

Appreciate all your hard work, and keep it up, you're the best out there :-)

Another Kiwi here. Thanks for all the hard work Kevin.

About to book tickets to my first PPV (Money in the Bank) as am in KC at the same time for a wedding. Keep an eye out for the Maori flag flying. That'll be me! :)

Congrats from a french fan based in South Africa (that will help raise your stats on the viewers ;))

Congratulations and thank YOU Kevin from Liverpool in England.

Your insights are always on the spot and expert and I don't miss a blog. The reason you're so popular is because we can all see you're a fan as well as us not just a writer.

You put a lot of time and work into this blog and it's really appreciated! Thanks.

I'd be the LAST guy on earth shocked by your success with a wrestling blog.

It's the CONTENT, stupid.

When you've spent your life dedicated to a subject and you're a world-class writer, it's NOT shocking that the world would come to you in the era of the internet.

Many congrats and many more years of posting from the ring...

(P.S. Now if you could just get Shirley to typeset the damned thing we might be able to get it published and distributed!)

RESPONSE FROM KE: Lol! Thanks, my friend

Great blog, been reading for two years now . . . definitely the best wrestling blog online....best wishes from England!

Keep up the great work!

Add a Scotsman (living in England) to the list as well.

Congratulations on the milestone Kev. Ring Posts is one of my daily wrestling must-reads (especially since I stopped reading The Steel Cage at Newsday when they stopped regularly posting, wanting a subscription, and adding some useless guy to drag Alfonso Castillo down).

Well done.

Thanks Kev. Came across your blog on accident about a year and a half ago and have been a daily reader ever since. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Kevin for all the hard work you put into this --- with this column/comments, etc. - even though I've only been watching a few years, I've been able to also "catch up on some" history/feuds, etc. and be more knowledgeable. Keep up the great work. I've been having trouble watching it lately - sort of losing interest - ECW left - definitely can't get into TNA or NXT - and right now, all my favorites are not on RAW or Smackdown (i.e. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy) and the storylines, characters there i.e. SES, Jericho/Miz - are all turnoffs to me --- so I'll just for now, follow your blogs and decide if I ever want to tune in again.

Thanks again for your time and doing this.

Thanks for writing this blog. I really do enjoy reading it. Congratulations on 3 years and keep it up!

Tremendous work, Kevin. As someone who blogs about boxing in the DC/MD/VA area, I can relate to the hard work it takes to do what you do!

I enjoy reading your work (and agree that you and Mike Mooneyham do the best work in writing about the business in the world.)

As the late great Grand Wizard would say, you are "Greatness in Action and we see it all right here!"

Awesome blog Kev - easily best out there. Eck Army - UK branch.

There are a lot of guys who write about wrestling on the web, but there aren't many who write about it as intelligently and expertly as you do here on Ring Posts. Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into this—I'm a long-time wrestling fan and a regular reader of yours, and I look forward to your insights and perspectives on the business in every post. Congrats on the landmark third anniversary for this blog, and I hope we get to continue reading your words for many years to come.

Cheers.

As one of your friends, I'd like to add my congratulations. There are many things we disagree about, but you still continue to amaze me. You seem to have a golden touch to the things you do, and your effort and love of topic is certainly evident in all you do. Three years is a great accomplishment, and I hope you have many more. Who'd of thought that all those years ago when I helped you move to Atlanta for the WCW job that it would come to this. Keep on rockin! It's great to call you my friend!

Mike F

RESPONSE FROM KE: Thanks, Mike. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago.

Congratulations Kevin, you are doing a great job with this blog. And I thought I was one of your 'distant' sycophants being located in Cincinnati!

Thanks to you for making wrestling even more entertaining. I found this blog by a fluke, but now I can't spend a day without visiting it.

Thanks again from Spain :).

Thanks for your dedication to the blog, Kevin. We appreciate it.

Kevin,

Let me add to the multitude of platitudes for your outstanding work on "Ring Posts". I, too, have been a pro wrestling fan since 1st grade, back to the halycon days of The Sheik and Bobo Brazil's endless bloody war over the NWA U.S. Title in the Detroit area. My interest has started to wane in recent years, as the old George Jones country song "Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes?" can be applied to wrestling's 1980-1990 era stars age out of the sport, with no Flair-Savage-Hogan-Austin-style charimatic newcomers to fill their boots. I read your blog with great interest, however, just to see if that next big thing is just over the horizon! Keep up the great work!

The Sun should definitley pay you more because Ring posts and the mma blog is the thing that draws me to the website. And, if I'm not mistaken us commentors tend to fall in that coveted demographic that has money to spend. I'm sure thats never crossed our mind though right?

Second to Meltzer, you are my main source for the latest wrestling news; I think that about says it all. Keep truckin' mang!

If you wrote a book I would buy it.

If you wrote a book I would buy it too.

you the man kevin

Hey Kevin

I'm from New Zealand and have been reading your blog religiously for the last 2 years. Absolutely Love it. Thanks and keep up the wicked work!!!

Congrats on three years! Here's a historical perspective of where the championships were when you started Ring Posts:

-WWE Champion John Cena (amidst his 14-month reign).
-World Heavyweight champion Edge (via Money in the Bank days earlier).
-ECW Champion Mr. McMahon
-WWE Intercontinental champion Santino Marella (that awful first reign, not the Honk-O-Meter reign)
-WWE United States champion Chris Benoit (lost his last title that weekend).
-World Tag Team champions Matt & Jeff Hardy
-WWE Tag Team champions Deuce & Domino
-WWE Women's champion Melina
-WWE Diva's championship did not exist until 14 months, 3 days later
-WWE Cruiserweight champion Chavo Guerrero (lost the title to Hornswoggle, then it was retired)

The headliners haven't changed much, and not surprisingly, 3/4 of the tag titles were on people no longer with the company. No one could've predicted the futures of Santino or Benoit.
