Jim Ross discusses where things stand with WWE
Jim Ross addressed his professional future in an entry on his blog late Wednesday night. He reiterated that he is still a WWE employee and will shortly be deciding whether to accept a new role with the company.
Ross hinted that the proposed position would involve scouting and recruiting talent for WWE. That’s something Ross did previously with the company, and he is given credit for putting together the talent roster that helped propel WWE to unprecedented heights during the late 1990s and early part of this decade.
“There is a misconception that I am ‘gone’ from WWE and that is not accurate,” Ross wrote. “I am an employee in good standing, over 17 years, with the company and within a few days my new job description, etc. will be established. At that point I can either commit and go kick a** in a new arena or I can say no thank you.
"I actually do have many interests within the biz that interest me other than announcing although that is my favorite thing to do professionally. Finding another Stone Cold or Rock is intriguing and challenging, for example. I am a major proponent of the developmental system within the business and feel it is the lifeblood for the long term future of wrestling. Even at 58, one finds it hard to leave ‘the nest’ especially if one helps build the nest.”

I just don't understand why they don't want him to broadcast wrestling. What do they see in Michael Cole? The fact that he's younger and doesn't have a southern accent? I just don't get it.

Jim Ross is a legend and it is a shame he isn't allowed to do what he does best....it makes no sense whatsoever!
I hope he leaves for TNA and gives us an autobiography (or two).

Its just Vince's way. Take what probably makes the most sense & what people want and do the complete opposite. In this case don't bring back JR and force Michael Cole down their throats until they give in and accept him.

Jim Ross would be welcomed back with open arms.
One thing I dislike about him (not personal in any way), is the reputation he has, which means that newer commentators don't get the proper treatment they deserve from fans.
Michael Cole is the perfect example. Just because he isn't as good as Good Ol' JR, people rag on him and just go way over the top at times.
The truth is, Cole is a top class commentator.

Poor JR is going through a rough time (despite his trying to be real positive in his blog) losing his announcer gig to Michael Cole and closing his restaurant. JR needs to show some b*lls and go to TNA. Maybe there he would be appreciated since obviously Vince doesn't and never has.

how about at 58 years old, you just retire? Maybe that would be good for all the health problems you've had.

Just hang in there JR - you don't need TNA . You're the greatest and eventually Vince will come to his senses!
