Update on status of stranded Raw crew

There were reports earlier today that WWE likely would be able to return home from Northern Ireland tomorrow, but the latest news is not as optimistic.

Air traffic control body NATS said that due to a new ash cloud spreading towards the United Kingdom, the situation in some areas has worsened. Specifically, the outlook for Northern Ireland is most uncertain, according to a report by the BBC.

It appears unlikely that the Raw crew will be back in time to appear at Tuesday’s night’s Smackdown taping in Connecticut. And with each passing day, there has to be more and more concern within WWE about the talent getting back for Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view in Baltimore.

On another note, pwinsider.com is reporting that The Undertaker is backstage at tonight’s Smackdown-themed Raw in New Jersey and is expected to make his first TV appearance since his cameo on Raw the night after WrestleMania XXVI three weeks ago.

This would be great time to put a PPV quality match on Raw. WWE could turn a negative into a big positive.

Sounds like WWE will have no choice but but to run with the program every fan wants to see: Michael Cole versus Jim Ross! At stake, of course, would be the announcer chair on RAW. Of course, they would have wrestlers fighting on their behalf, so obviously Bryan Daniel will be assigned to Jim Ross based on Cole's animosity towards the minor league impact player. And Michael Cole will be assigned HHH.

Too bad, I was really pulling for Good Ol' JR this time. Oh well...

HOLY VOLCANIC ASH WWEMAN! WHAT OTHER HORRIFIC NEWS DO YOU HAVE? Jeez, enough already, we all know your devotion to Vince and the WWE,we all know how lost you are without Michaels, and we all know you still have a bitter taste in your mouth from some of your past dealings with WCW & Bischoff, but are you in a bubble? TNA Lockdown-PAY PER VIEW,happened last night and still nothing? Like we really need 2 friggin stories on the travel woes of the poor WWE crew? Are you serious. What's next--- to the minute updates on the Raw crew,---Kev: my sources tell me that many in the Raw crew, having no means of escaping the horrific trauma caused by the Icelandic Volcano, have taken to having to stay in-gasp-a 2 star hotel, my reporter on the ground tells me and I quote "If not for the grace of God/Vince we would be in a one star, or even worse we could be like all of the other stranded people throughout Europe and be spending time in the ---aah--egads---THE AIRPORT. There was a rumor, quickly scuttled by Vince himself that we may have to take a bus to an airport that is allowing flights and THEN have to fly coach. As you can imagine moral on the team is at it's lowest since the ATTITUDE ERA. Give us a damn break Kevin and do your job,in case you forgot that would be by YOU writing your slanted review of LOCKDOWN. Don't know about the rest of the TNA fans out there. but I for one feel better, now that I have vented like an Icelandic Volcano.

Why can't they just drive south to a more favorable area? Vince has enough money to charter a private flight

Damn It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why?

Say it isn't so.

it's actually going pretty well! they are so lucky hhh didn't go on the trip!

Undertaker's dong = ratings. I'm talking about his entrance. "Is that PG?"

If Vince Russo still booked WWE, he'd probably book a Volcanic Ash Match for Extreme Rules. Two wrestlers fight in the ring while a smoke machine spits out brown volcanic ash every five minutes. The winner is the first man not to die of smoke inhalation. Oh, if only Russo were with WWE...

"Why can't they just drive south to a more favorable area? Vince has enough money to charter a private flight"

Do you know what's south of Ireland? The Atlantic Ocean.

Extreme Rules 2010 could become WWE's version of Halloween Havoc 1998...

yea y dont they juss drive home wtf thats hella dumb people now-a-days dnt think

hey mick... You seem to forget that it's not really Kevin's job to post on the blog. Last I checked, he's a Sports Editor for the Sun first and a blogger on the side. I enjoy all the wrestling news same as anyone else that reads his blog, but truth be told, I had forgotten about the TNA ppv. I bet that even a "non-story" such as the Raw crew being stuck overseas would garner higher ratings than TNA. Which isn't to say that I don't enjoy reading about TNA, but WWE drives the business, whether you want to believe it or not. Sorry to rain on your volcano.

Where is The Hurricane when you need him? Oh yeah, I forgot.....

What's going to crack me up is when the ratings come out and RAW still crushes TNA by 3 points with no cast or crew :)

By the way, how effing great was it to see Lillian announcing again last night?

I'm glad i didnt read this ****SPOILER**** about UT last night before Raw.

I couldn't care less about TNA or any of its pay-per-views.

@ Mick Fowl: Geez, give the guy a break! I'm probably not alone in finding these updates interesting. I don't have time to search all over the internet for these tid-bits of news, so I'm glad I can just go to one source: Ring Posts. Besides, it probably takes Kevin a lot less time to write this report than it does to write his impressions on Lockdown, so friggin' chill already! Your rant was a bit over the top - you take lessons from Cornette??

Give us a damn break Kevin and do your job,in case you forgot that would be by YOU writing your slanted review of LOCKDOWN.

Odd, I thought this blog was a hobby by choice, not a job requirement. I must have been confused by all the times Kevin has told us readers that this blog is NOT part of his job, I thought it meant this blog isn't one of his job requirements.

Mick Fowl, I think you would be better served to direct your complaints on the matter to Kevin's bosses to let them know what they are paying him for. I'd bet they are giving him mixed signals with a workload that doesn't include reviewing a rasslin' pay-per-view he didn't watch.

CRAAAPPPPPPP I was supposed to go to extreme rules and I got Front Row seats

Nice to see somebody started to pay attention. Let's start with Scott B, why don't you ask Kevin where he get's his biggest push,I'm guessing his blog is a bit more than a hobby as you call it, and that definition would be more insulting to him than what I said, but Kevin can answer himself (if he has time) my definition of a hobby wouldn't require me to be watching wrestling shows until---I believe one of his last posts said 4am. Does that sound like a hobby to anyone, perhaps if he started watching at say 3am, but I digress, next let's answer Curtis, thank you for the compliment. To have anything I have written be compared to Cornette, well that's awe inspiring, and perhaps we could ask your beloved Kevin if he would feel complimented by such a comparison. And finally Mr.Sarcasm, catchy handle(as they would say in the CB days)did you think that up all on your own? Judging by the feedback, traffic etc. I would say this is a bit more than a hobby. I have been reading this blog for at least 2 years and funny but I don't see once where Kevin called it a "hobby". Do you think recorded video interviews that bring in traffic to the Sun's website are considered a hobby? If I wanted to banter with Kevin about TNA being forgotten after a Pay per View by stories about the WWE crew being stranded I would comment as I did, If I were a vindictive psycho, who hid in my mom's basement, spending my every living moment obsessed by whatever internet site had my attention, well than I would email his bosses. That would not be me,nor would it be very gentleman like behavior. In closing, I know all of you WWE ZOMBIES are simply in love with their product and more power to you. I just want choice, and what we have is hardly any choice, at least TNA gives us something else. I wish that we could have all of the shows we had in the past,AWA,WCCW,Florida,Texas,Oregon,Mexico,Tennessee,----- ALL of the territories on cable all the time. The best years of wrestling prescribed to the underwear theory ,if it sticks--well hopefully you get it. Instead I guess I am supposed to cower in my hole because as Jeff posts,WWE beats TNA by 3 points with no crew. Well YEEHAW, who cares, the problem with our world right now is unless you are the best,on top, highest earner you are crap.Well that's crap, we can't wait to build up a show, celebrity, sports hero, you name it to unheard of heights to what? Crush him or her the minute they are found to be flawed, shocking to most I know but guess what folks we are all flawed, and only one can be number one, so tell me is everything after number one ZERO? I say no, I am humbled by your responses, but troubled none the less. I have bantered with Kevin many times, never mean, never rude, perhaps snide, maybe even snarky but banter, it's fun, cool and good discussion. If you are a fan of wrestling you need as many shows as they can produce, I would love to be able to see MCW (Maryland Championship Wrestling)on cable,it would enhance their talent, bring more butts in the seats and tell me who would it hurt. Survivor is probably the highest watched and top rated "Reality show" on the tube, but Kirstie Alley is prancing her F$$ bu$$ all over TV in the same market, who cares.like it,watch it,hate it,turn the channel. How did ALL of society turn into RUSH v OBERMAN?
