Ratings for Monday’s Raw, TNA Impact
The ratings for Raw dipped to a 3.1 (rounded up from 3.05) for Monday’s episode, while Monday’s TNA Impact saw an increase to a 1.0 (rounded up from 0.95), according to pwtorch.com.
Raw, which featured the cast of the upcoming movie "MacGruber" as guest hosts and had most of its roster stranded in Ireland, did its lowest rating since Dec. 2008.
Impact, which was highlighted by Rob Van Dam wrestling Jeff Hardy and later defeating A.J. Styles for the TNA World title, reached 1.0 for the first time since March 8, the night the show made in its debut as a weekly Monday program. Impact did a 0.8 last week for the first episode of the show in its new time slot of 8 p.m., a change that was not promoted well.
Impact did a 1.0 in the final 15 minutes of Monday’s unopposed first hour, which included the start of the match between RVD and Hardy for the right to challenge Styles later in the show. Once Raw began, however, Impact dropped to a 0.8 for the conclusion to the RVD-Hardy match. I’m surprised Impact didn’t hold the audience there (Raw opened with a promo by Triple H, who eventually was interrupted by CM Punk).
The final quarter-hour of Impact, featuring RVD winning the championship, did a 0.9. I expected that number to be a bit higher as well.
As I wrote earlier today in my Impact recap, I’m predicting Thursday’s replay to do a better-than-usual number because of the title change.

I have to admit Impact was good last night. But I wouldn't have put the heavyweight belt on RVD. He's only been there 2 months, he's been paired with Hardy and only has been in 4 singles matches I can remember. I think TNA did this to only appeal to the IWC they've pi**ed off and burnt-out potheads.

Oh and by the way, have you read the spoilers for next weeks Impact (We know you haven't, Kev)? Looks like from what I've read Impact will be droping back down to a 0.7 and RAW having a 3 hour draft special will jump back up to a 3.6.

I am no fan of TNA. I will admit that. But I have to say that I am surprised they didn't do better with the show that they put on. Heck, RAW doesn't even show up to their show and they still beat TNA by 2 points in the ratings. Hate to say I called it. :)

So is the Thursday 2 hour time slot officially TNA's now? If so they should use that to their advantage. I'd have Monday's Impact be a live show every Monday (barring weeks when scheduling makes it impossible) and air a new episode on Thursdays with the guys currently stuck in purgatory (MCMG, etc).
They could choose the better matches from Impact to show highlights of and even work in some of those backstage segments they tried last week before Impact. I think they need to at least TRY to give the Thursday watchers an incentive to watch or at least channel flip on Mondays. This could also take advantage of the Thursday audience and they could really promote the Monday show, which still seems many displaces viewers aren't aware of.

Eck, Don't forget that Thursday is the first round of the NFL draft. This will probably effect TNA's rating.
