Great interview w/Lawler.....I grew up in the Memphis area, which should be required viewing for any true wrestling fan, regardless of the age.

Kevin, as always great job and Jerry Lawler seems like a legitimately nice man. I was wondering if you asked him any thing outside the video about stars returning from the past like how Bret Hart recently returned, Steve Austin guest hosting, and The Rock possibly coming back? I was watching The Greatest Stars of the 90s from WWE not to long ago and Jerry Lawler really praises The Rock and called him basically in his opinion the biggest star of the 90s. I think Lawler misses The Rock like all of us and Steve Austin performing. He must of been happy Bret Hart came back to WWE and put the past behind him.

Hey Kev,
Great job on the interview. I wish it was longer.

Great interview Kev,
One ironic note on Lawler's comments about it being a "long time" before Matt Striker has a WrestleMania match....Matt Striker HAS actually had a WrestleMania match (WM 23 as part of the New Breed Team vs ECW Team) and Lawler is still waiting... lol

Good interview.
And it gives me a chance to say this, which is a bit off-topic but since we're talking about Jerry Lawler and comic books: On "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD, Lawler talks about Warrior's outside merchandising (including a comic) and tells a story about how once, Warrior came to the ring wearing a baseball cap. Lawler says this totally dispelled the whole 'Warrior' gimmick, that he looked cheap and not at all ferocious, etc.
Why doesn't somebody tell the same thing to Triple H, who frequently appears on the ramp looking like a commercial by wearing his new WWE Shop(tm) baseball cap and T-shirt?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Funny you should mention the Warrior story. After the interview we talked some more and it came up in conversation.

Doesn't the WM match write itself? If Vince is willing - he often says he's done wrestling, but he always seems to come back one way or another - he should wrestle The King. Their feud could stem from the fact that Lawler's never had a WM match, and he's tired of the Chairman keeping him down. Doesn't this make all the sense in the world?

I loved Lawler back in the day but McMahon absolutely ruined Lawler's legacy when he joined the WWE. He was mainly made to look like a clown (though at times he was a compelling heel) and Lawler's refusal to wrestle on a regular basis for the WWE makes him seem like a joke.
