Quick hits on WWE Superstars

• Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT was heavy with WrestleMania XXVI video packages, and Thursday’s WWE Superstars was more of the same. There were only two matches on the show.

• The main event was a good one, as Rey Mysterio and Tyson Kidd had an action-packed 15-minute match. Mysterio won, of course, but Kidd got in a lot of offense and looked strong in defeat.

• The show opened with Cryme Tyme’s music and entrance. I immediately reached for the remote to hit the fast-forward button, but then CM Punk’s music played and there was no need for the remote after all. Punk defeated JTG in a singles match to give him a decisive victory heading into Sunday’s match against Mysterio at WrestleMania. I was a little disappointed that Punk didn’t cut a promo.

• Matt Striker referred to Mysterio as a “no-limit soldier.” If you were watching WCW in 1999, you know why that term brings up bad memories.

What is that 'no limit soldier' and by the way were is boby lashly right now?

RESPONSE FROM KE: The No Limit Soldiers and rapper Master P were in WCW for a brief time in an angle that fans rejected

Kev, I'm surprised that TNA haven't brought back the No Limit Soldiers, Brutus Beefcake, the Demon, and David Arquette. What are Russo and Bischoff waiting for??

The Mysterio - Kidd match just highlighted why The Hart Dynasty should be pushed alot more rather then being used as props to get random tag teams into matches. Actually I would like to see the Hart Dynasty go team on team with the SES if just because it may give Natalya a chance to step in the ring and kick some "keister"

I really enjoyed Superstars. I hope they stick w/ the formula of a mid-carder taking on a main eventer each week.

Then again, Kevin, if there had never been No Limit Soldiers we may never have been treated to "Rap is Crap" which did make me laugh. Hennig, Duncum and the Windhams and (how can we ever forget!) Virgil as Curly Bill! Typical of WCW that when their god-awful Master P, or whatever the heck his name was, angle flopped, they were left with gold in their bowl when the Rednecks got over with the fans. But, in typical WCW fashion, they didn't realize they had something good staring them in the face, and they flushed a golden angle. Instead of giving the fans what they wanted and letting the Rednecks be the faces and the No Limit Soldiers be the heels, they killed the whole thing.
You would think that TNA would have learned from WCW's mistakes.

Man, they really did load this up with the same filler, didn't they?

They taped the Mysterio/Kidd match first. Makes sense they showed it last though.
