Ric Flair’s wife charged with assaulting him
Just in case anyone hasn’t seen this story yet, Ric Flair’s wife was arrested Sunday night in an apparent domestic assault case, according to a report on charlotteobserver.com.
Jacqueline Beems was charged with misdemeanor assault, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told the Web site.
Flair, who turns 61 on Thursday, and Beems, 41, were married last November. She is his fourth wife.
This is the third police incident in a little more than four years in which Flair has been involved. In 2008, his 22-year-old daughter was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. Eyewitnesses said at the time that Flair, his daughter and her boyfriend were involved in a fight that left Flair bloodied and bruised. In 2005, Flair was charged in a road rage incident when he was accused of grabbing a motorist by the neck.

I guess that makes his wife "the man".

Rumor has it that during this altercation Ric Flair climbed on top the kitchen counter only to have Mrs Flair press slam him onto the floor. After all these years he still can't hit that move. WOOOOOOO!!!

My pity for Ric Flair knows no bounds.

Kevin, do you ever get tired of being a police reporter instead of a sports journalist? This blog is a constant stream of stories about premature death, arrests, drug abuse and off-camera (i.e. real) violence. Wrestling might be scripted but the recklessness of the performers is very real. I assume that's part of the draw for the fans? Knowing that the performers in the ring are truly maniacs in real life?

Oh man, when he wrestles on Impact, it's going to be soooooo believable. What a joke.

I thought they were divorced? Is this the same woman that he was married to when he was inducted into Hall of Fame?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Different one.

This really cheapens the send off the WWE gave him. Retired means retired!

When Charlotte Police arrived at the scene, Mrs. Nature Boy was standing over her husband saying: "Whether you like it, or you don't like it, learn to love it! It's the best thing going today! Whewwww!"

Don't forget that his son was also arrested for heroin possession.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Yes, but I was only listing the ones Ric was directly involved in.

I wonder if TNA will have scheduled as their main event Jacqueline Beems vs. AJ Styles for the TNA Championship. If Jacqueline wins she gets 5 minutes in the ring with Flair.

I understand the jokes. But really, what's the alternative to Flair having been bloodied? Should he have hit back? Would we really prefer the headline had been, "Ric Flair charged with assaulting his wife"?
Ideally, it would be enough already with the drama and the police and what not. Short of that, I don't have a problem here. As far as I can tell from the story, Flair kept his hands to himself.

Thank You BigBill for making my day. I nominate this for comment of the year!
Why would a person get married so many times? He has to pay alimony for the first 4, wouldn't that be some sort of deterrent? I think the "No ring no thing" days are gone so he didn't have to make it contractual.
I believe Kanye West said it best: "We Want Prenup!!"

It's like he always says, "To BE the man, you gotta' BEAT the man."
Damn, I just noticed someone beat me to that one.

Ric Flair was thinking at that time"Where is the Four Horseman when u need 'em?"
Posted by: SajidM | February 24, 2010 12:02 PM
She got mad because his idea of foreplay was asking her if she wanted to ride Space Mountain.
I wonder if she did the strut on the way to the police car.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the phrase is "you have to beat the man." ....not Bite the man.
