« Al Snow headlines MCW show in Baltimore | Main | Maria, Shane Helms, Paul Burchill released by WWE »

Quick hits on WWE Superstars

• I always enjoy watching The Hart Dynasty, so I thought the main event of Thursday’s WWE Superstars was entertaining. In it, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith and Natalya defeated Matt Hardy, The Great Khali and Maria in a six-person tag team match.

• Jack Swagger and William Regal, who defeated Santino Marella and Chris Masters in a tag match, make an interesting team. I wonder if their partnership was a one-time thing. Swagger would benefit from an association with Regal much the way Ezekiel Jackson did. Speaking of which, the Jackson-Regal alliance is officially over, as Regal has moved to Raw, while Jackson has gone to Smackdown.

• Zack Ryder looked impressive in his win over Primo. Rosa Mendes looked impressive standing at ringside.

• Luke Gallows came off like a monster in his quick win over an enhancement talent.

• Serena is doing a great job in her role, especially with her facial expressions. From what I’ve read, she only got the spot in CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society because no other woman in WWE developmental was willing to have their head shaved. I’m guessing she’ll end up wrestling at some point.

Well, so much for the love triangle between MH, Maria and Khali.

How does the Diva of the year in 2009 get released, especially when she's been active on TV.

So much for your hope of PB getting pushed as a monster heel. Is WWE in that bad of shape financially?

Too bad this was Maria's last match with WWE. It was announced today that she was released along with Shane Helms and Paul Burchill. I wonder if Katie Lea will be next

Perhaps Serena will do for bald women what Sinead O'Connor did for them two decades ago. As long as she doesn't tear up any pictures of the Pope she should do just fine. And by the Pope I don't mean D'Angelo Dinero.

I know my opinion on this carries little weight since I'm a guy and all, but (insert number here) women from FCW passed on the opportunity to move up to a prominent spot in WWE just because they didn't want to walk around bald for a few weeks? That seems like a poor career move.

As a HUGE fan of both Punk and his work on the mic. I'm hoping at somepoint they add 1 or 2 more members to his society and give them a push as a full stable. Give Serena the woman's title, Gallows and another member the tag belts, a 4th member the Intercontinental, and Punk the World title. You have limitless options within WWE of people that have Wellness policy violations that could "come clean" and accept Straight Edge into their lives. Even bigger name talent, that could help elevate Punk even more with them following him.

Eric,

I totally agree with you. Sorry if you want to get into the business and make a go of it, you do whatever is required... heck later on you can always get a wig like Molly Holly.
