Jeff Hardy indicted

One day after Jeff Hardy made his shocking debut on TNA Impact, he was indicted by a grand jury in North Carolina on various drug charges, according to multiple reports.

Hardy had been arrested in September and charged with: felony possession of cocaine, felony drug trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

I’m guessing there are people in Stamford, Conn., who are now a little less upset about Hardy unexpectedly signing with TNA. According to wrestlingobserver.com, Hardy had orally agreed with WWE on a return date, which explains why his name had been mentioned on WWE television as of late.

The Web site also reported that it is believed that Hardy’s deal with TNA is not long term.

Ok, so this takes a bit of the sting out of Hardy "jumping ship".

If his deal was not long term in the first place, why would he jeopardize his relationship with WWE by signing with TNA? DUH! This guy needs to start using common sense a little more...or maybe the thinking is a little clouded as of late?

I kind of feel sorry for him in a way- he seems a ship lost at sea in the last few years...

TNA must have had a pretty good idea about his legal situation. Sure they talked to Hardy and did some research before bringing him in.

If he ends up going to jail, though, that's going to be interesting.

Kevin,
After I saw Jeff Hardy show up on TNA last night, it got me to thinking. The indictment withstanding, hypothetically, if Hardy was to return to the WWE, would he back to zero on the "3 strikes and you're out" rule? Technically he'd be like a re-hire, wouldn't he? I wasn't sure if he would still carry the 2 strikes he already had, no matter how long he was away from the WWE.

I hope he's allowed to paint in prison.

Paul in Hawaii- Your record against the 3 strikes policy stays in place regardless of whether you leave the company or not.

TNA looks like a total drug haven for WWE guys. Hardy (2x), Angle, Booker T, pretty sure we'll never see a TNA wellness policy.

"TNA looks like a total drug haven for WWE guys. Hardy (2x), Angle, Booker T, pretty sure we'll never see a TNA wellness policy."

Not that I think those guys are doing themselves or the business any favors by using, but have you heard the story Scott Steiner told about what happened when he was asked to take a drug test in WWE? According to Steiner, he responded to that request by saying he'd get tested if Triple H would also get tested. WWE withdrew their request.

That could be completely made up, of course, but WWE's wellness policy does apply to some people less than others. And I still maintain that a lot of those guys wouldn't rely on drugs if their work schedule were more forgiving.

Elevation,
Roger that. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I appreciate it.

Maybe CM Punk can incorporate the latest news on Hardy into his diatribe. haha

He was indicted on Monday the same day he signed with TNA so they knew. You need to get your facts straight and stop trying to make things look better for your precious WWE.

RESPONSE FROM KE: Your condescending tone notwithstanding (whoever you are), I appreciate you alerting me to the clarification. One usually very reliable wrestling Web site reported it as having happened on Tuesday. I don't know that it really changes anything, but I will post a correction.

Looking back at Monday night's Impact, I almost find it funny that they showed Jeff Hardy painting while the other wrestler watched. Some strong foreshowding for what Hardy might be doing with his free time behind bars if he convicted.

So let me get this straight: Sean Waltman, Scott Hall and Jeff Hardy are now in the same promotion?

Yeah, I don't expect this to end well for anyone.

The way I see it, is, TNA is selling Jeff Hardy for a break-out role, in say like....2025!!!

This is why I found the Punk-Hardy feud so confusing. Although, Punk was the heel (since everyone loves Jeff), I couldn't help thinking: "but he's right, you know"!
I think I'll stick with WWE since they seem to be sensible with employees.

I'm not sure which is stupider, from a business standpoint—hiring Jeff Hardy, a genuine superstar facing a serious prosecution; or hiring Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, two has-beens who aren't remembered fondly by the few fans who remember them, and who bring absolutely nothing to the ring except the ticking clocks of their respective next implosions.

I am a much older fan than most onhere, and to say the least was very dissapointed with Jeff showing up on this barnyard wrestling show.I have lost all respect for the man.He definatley needs help.

hardy is one of the most captivating wrestlers we will ever see but he has 2 get past these legal problems. along with aj,that is if hardy stays with tna, he could carry this company 2 attitude era wwe heights. he is better fitted for the fast paced style of tna either way.

I am also an older fan of wrestling, since the 80's but i can tell you TNA may have a better roster but what do you expect with the older wrestlers leaving WWE? Personally i think if eric bishop continues to show his no-talent hack of a face you can bet even if jeff hardy is on there chances i wont be watching. We dont need another wolf pack, another hollywood hogan and certianly dont need to see another WCW from this. I love jeff hardy as a wrestler but of all the choices he could have atleast waited until this whole drug thing was sorted.

I like jeff hardy.And i hate matt

You know, there's more to consider than what you see on tv. Maybe TNA treats its talent better. Vince McMahon rules with an iron fist; I just read about how during the election in 2008, he forbade his employees from saying that they supported the Obama ticket. And then there was the way he decided to bury RVD after Van Dam refused to go to Iraq for Tribute To The Troops. Some people might be comfortable working for a guy like that, but I sure as hell wouldn't be.

Rob, maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read. Going to Iraq is (and always was) supposed to be a volunteer thing. Tough to refuse if you don't volunteer. Asking if you're interested isn't the same as asking you to go.

Marko50, maybe you should watch this video of RVD talking about what happened. Skip to 4:05, since that's when he starts discussing it. Chris Masters and Heidenreich are the other participants in the conversation and pretty much corroborate what he says:

As one wrestling site wrote:

...RVD just wouldn’t budge on Vince's “voluntary” trip to Iraq. And by “voluntary” he meant in the same sense as Mike Tyson saying you have a choice on whether or not you have to have sex with him.

So don't tell me that they have a choice, unless you mean the choice between going or being buried.

The idea of "a volunteer thing" is always very funny. Lots of things that are voluntary are anything but. Check out a volunteer NFL camp and see who doesnt show up. If your boss says it is voluntary, in no way is that what it means!

jeff you need to read this,WWE is awesome but it needs syour charismatic enigma i am not saying TNA is not awesome i am just saying it is not the place for you and cm punk got his head shaved and i want you to un mask him and cm punk has a broken arm and i want you to break him.

jeff you need to come to Smack down cause i want to see the Hardy Bro tag team and cm punk ended your carrier so i think you should end his i am so tired every time on Smack Down listening to him complain about how we are not straght edge and he is taking people out of the crowd and making them straight edge do you want bald people every where you go soGO TO SMACK DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jeff is the best wrestler

jeff you need to go back to WWE because i want you to make excited give me something on wwe and plus you are not the kind of guy i know you are i am only 11 and i watch more than you think you arer the best hulk hogan and eric bischoff are changing you and do not nee dto fall into what they are doing to you please you are my idol out of all wrestling superstars. You know your new song well this is what i am thinking when i watch you beat up someone like RVD thisn is what i think the man i see will never be.People at my school always talk about you and listen and they are talking about you nicely and in my mind i think about when you blamed your pain on the tna universe or the wwe universe the title that you have now is cool and all but you are not being the person you are because you are the modest. So get off this crap with eric and hogan so do think about this.
