Bubba The Love Sponge gone from TNA?
Due to the backlash for his insensitive comments about Haiti, TNA on-air personality Bubba The Love Sponge may be done with the company. Or not.
On his Twitter account earlier today, he said that he was told not to come to a production meeting before today’s Impact tapings in Orlando. Here are some of his tweets:
“Was suppose to be at the prod meeting @11 they called and said not 2 come??? This is all because of my Haiti comments Sorry people can't handle the truth. And what does my Haiti comments have to do with tna wrestling. I didn't say them on dixies air. I don't think tna is ready 4someone like me. I shoot hard from the hip and ms Carter (although i have a ton of respect 4her) has never had a guy that is as outrageous as I am and has a nationwide delevery [sic] method. So right now I would describe our relationship like oil and water. And it's not good.
“I just don't understand how I can b in trouble for my opinon.”
He also commented on what took place between Eric Bischoff and TNA personality Jeremy Borash at Sunday night’s Genesis pay-per-view. As part of an on-screen angle, Bischoff told Borash that he was taking him off TV. Both BTLS and Borash, via their Twitter accounts, are acting as if it was a shoot, and no one seems to really know for sure what’s fact and what’s fiction.
From BTLS:
“Had a long talk with Eric b. I don't want to take over jbs backstage interviews. I may have to walk away cause I don't agree with letting him go. Now if I would happen to take those interviews over. All ready I'm the bad guy. That's not cool. Already some bull---- going down and I'm in the middle of it. I have to take a long hard look at weather [sic] I want to really do this or not.
“Everybody needs to chill jb is gone. I'm probably next. I know for a fact i'm not going 2b his replacement.
“Eric needs to chill out on this power trip. Hogan is cool. Eric is running wild.”
Knowing how much Bischoff and Vince Russo love to try and fool everyone with their elaborate worked shoots, I wouldn’t be surprised if all of this – including BTLS’ comment about Haiti – is just one big publicity stunt to get the Internet Wrestling Community talking. I suppose in that regard it has worked and I have helped them accomplish their goal.
If they truly believe that this is going to draw money, however, well, the only people they are fooling are themselves.
I’ll have more comments later about some of the events that took place at Genesis.

Comments
Once and idiot always an idiot (BTLS that is). This is major reason why I don't watch much TNA, because jokers like him are hired and given an opportunity to spew their hate over a national medium. It's a shame that this joker has his own radio show. Any apology he makes is obviously going to be insincere and forced.

If this is true, ' I wouldn’t be surprised if all of this – including BTLS’ comment about Haiti – is just one big publicity stunt to get the Internet Wrestling Community talking', it's the most foolish thing I've ever seen. It would and I'm sure if BTLS stays in TNA, it will drive people away, not bring them in.

I guess this is a good example of why fans still think Vince McMahon is a genius even when his ideas to boost ratings including the McMahon Million Dollar Giveaway.

I considered the possibility that it was a work, but dismissed it. "No," I thought, "Not even Russo would be that stupid, because it would be in incredibly bad taste and would only harm the company." Like Dave W says, it would drive people away instead of bringing them in.

Kev, sorry about the Ravens comment, just funnin",but as a loyal Redskin fan I can see how I deserved the "ouch" response, trust me I have had a bunch of ouches recently with Snyder the evil genius practically ruining a franchise, enough on that, but a small but succinct lesson to the BLS' and some others that post here on how NOT to have your grammar and spelling gain a (sic) on their posts,it's simple folks most of you have Microsoft Outlook, or something similar, once you have written your post simply copy(RT click & select copy),then start a faux(that's fake for you Bubba-the Dumb Sponge's,speaking of sponges aren't they supposed to suck things up?I guess knowledge and facts aren't one of the things a "Love Sponge" is capable of sucking up,anyway) paste to a the new email message(simply click new message and then RT click again and select paste) once the body of your writing has been pasted, select the spell check option, for those of you that don't know where or what it is the ABC icon with the check mark beside it,with the other Icons at the top of the page is IT,then go through the needed changes(remember if you click to change you MUST change manually on your post,it will only make changes to the spelling on the faux email, not the real one)then complete changes and send email to said site. Thank you boys & girls for this completed lesson on "How not to look like a moron/ingrate/dipsh**. This has been a public service by a former MD (Montgomery County no less) drop out,who thru family issues went on to the "Harvard on the Pike" (Montgomery College)and while working two jobs somehow was selected to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a 3.8 GPA,(though in reality all I know is since I had good grades they send me the paperwork,I paid my $25,and got a pin in the mail--go figure)then alas the money ran out (mine) but to help others in my own sarcastic way is good enough.Remember ,Outlook spell check is a simple way to make us all look smarter, kind of what the calculator did for math, use it don't abuse it,for it will be your friend.

The Internet wrestling community is a fun thing, but you're right, Kevin -- TNA is going nowhere with angles and shoots aimed at us. This is a little tiny committed minority. Real TV success means getting a much broader audience.

I know he's a popular personality, but I personally am not a big fan. If he were to leave TNA, it wouldn't put a frown on my face.

According to Rumors female wrestler Kia Stevens (Awesome Kong) attacked Bubba backstage during the tapings for TNA this week-- Shouting "this is for Haiti!". TNA almost always fires people from backstage incidents. I dont see them firing their best women's wrestler, so bubba will probably be gone :)

All of you are idiots. Bubba gave his opinion. You idiots can't take it, that's too bad. Grow up. Free speech is still alive. Kong should be fired/suspended. It's called pro wrestling for a reason. It was not professional. Bubba made his comment on twitter, not in TNA facilities. It's disgraceful if she gets away with this. Everyone within the locker room should be ashamed. This was not professional in any way or form. Crazy a-- b---- is not the best female wrestler on the roster. Tara is.
