• Has wrestled in WWE since 2002

• At 24, became youngest world champion in WWE history in 2004

• Six-time world champion (five WWE titles; one world heavyweight title)

• Had memorable feuds with John Cena, Triple H and Mick Foley

• Successfully defended WWE title against Cena and Triple H in a triple threat match at WrestleMania XXIV (2008)

• Also wrestled in world title matches at WrestleMania 22 (2006) and WrestleMania XXV (2009)

• Had few peers among fellow heels from 2007 to 2009

Glad to see one Randy made the list. After Angle he's been my favourite heel over the last few years, he just sells psychotic so well (also loved to hate his dad back when I was a kid). Levesque may be a douchebag but he does have an eye for talent, except for one pale, glaring Irish exception. Here's hoping WWE get Orton & Kingston in a title program soon. BTW, best wrestling blog by far. Merry Christmas from downunder

Honestly, I'm quite suprised Orton is so low on the list. Considering his WWE career started in 2002, and being the youngest WWE champion ever, I would've thought would've placed him higher. Also he is one of the biggest draws in WWE now and has been for a while, and this is deserved; he is one of the best heels in the business.

I wonder if maybe Randy's injuries have held him back? Or maybe the fact that he only really hit the nail on the head and has really become so influencal recently; his stuff with Legacy and feud with the Mcmahons surely mean he deserves to be higher? But maybe his "legend killer" peroid didn't quite cut it...

Anways respect your choice Kev, loving your blog and this list (always love your lists!) Have a great and relaxing Christmas!

I personally would have placed the fellow higher, but RKO is definitely deserving of being on this list. I feel like he has slowed down in the recent years, but maybe it's because I miss his face character.

His performance as a heel is definitely hard to rival, but it seems lately this whole 'Viper' thing has almost gone over-the-top in how he is so slow and just slinks away from a fight unless his personal baby oil troupe is there to back him up/soften the target up first.

Definite Top 10 wrestler. I would have him a bit higher up the list, but certainly has to be in there.

The Legend Killer, a must for this list even if a bit low for my tastes. Although I will hold that sentiment until the final tally.

Surprised no mention of Rated RKO in the highlights?

O.K., I can understand both Batista and Orton. However, from the posts following the Batista choice, I have to comment about Triple H. I can't dispute his titles and his distinctions, but don't they have to be viewed relative(pun intended)to who he is -- husband of Stephanie McMahon.

I'm not sure it's fair to evaluate someone who not only is married to the daughter of the WWE owner, but someone who is an exective in the company as well as a performer. I don't want to diminish his accomplishments, but he certainly had a decided advantage over other wrestlers. Shouldn't this be taken into account as decisions about Wrestler of the Decade are made?

I'm a bit surprised by this one. My only guess as to why you have guys with five and six world title reigns at numbers ten and nine (respectively) is that you are including some guys that I didn't imagine you would, namely Rock and Austin. Don't get me wrong, they're two of the best ever (no hyperbole there, they are both easily top ten all time, if not top five), but their activity level this decade is considerably less than both Batista and Orton.

Anyway, I'll be interested to see how this shakes out.

Waoooow, only 9th?????

I can't imagine 8 bigger impact players on that decade. That's a big surprise.

Anyway, great heel. And he has such a lot left. He's clutch.

A "knock" for Batista, but know "knock" for Orton???

RESPONSE FROM KE: Orton has had his share of injuries, which is one reason he wasn't a little higher, but Batista has had more. One of Orton's injuries was a broken collarbone, which could have happened to anyone who took the bump that he did. Batista's injuries were mostly muscle tears.

Knew that Orton was definitely going to be on the list. Didn't think that he was going to be ranked towards this end of the list. Now, I'm extra curious to see who else shows up on here.

Good call on Orton's position here, Kev. I agree completely. Orton's definitely one to make the list and considering the other names that you still have to throw out there, he's right where he should be. I mean I might be biased to the past a little, but guys who have done and are continuing to do or have done big things like Triple H, Michaels, Taker, Angle, etc. I think would be more positioned to make this list if we look at your criteria. I'm definitely interested to see how you let the rest of the numbers fold. Great job though, I enjoy reading your blog. Despite being a busy medical school student, when I see posts like these, and the one ahead of this about Bret Hart who is my favorite wrestler ever, I can plan ahead so to speak. So now, I'm clear for January 4th's Raw episode, and ready to hear his music cut like I'm back as a kid watching it. I wouldn't have known any of that had I not kept up with it by your blog, so thanks.

hmm....lets see who we have got left....
1)cena
2)hhh
3)jericho
4)undertaker
5)edge
6)hbk( jus one world title......un-friggin-believable)
7)steve austin

this pretty much has to be it.......btw kevin.....i gotta with most of the comments that rko should have been higher up.....

Hey Kev, I was'nt making a comment concerning injuries, but I was just hoping you would insert a "knock" comment for each wrestler that you chosse thats all.

RESPONSE FROM KE: Oh.

Not only one of the best in this decade, but likely one of the best of all time.
Another fun topic, Kevin, might be what wrestler would be your first pick around whom to start a wrestling organization. I believe Orton would have to be a top contender for that honor.
