I much prefer the Taker v. HBK rematch at Mania vs the HHH/ HBK rumored match. Let's hope for a nice build from the Rumble on.

Man, I know I should wait until you write your thoughts on the episode, Kevin, but while Miller did okay later on in the night some of the stuff he said early on irritated me. I just took a look at the cmpunk.com forum to see what the fans there thought, and one person posted the following three days ago:
"He is the anti Bill Mahar . . . a consertive moral majority jerk that thinks he is superior to everybody that never got a Ph.d. He is writing stuff for Linda McMahon and absolutely ruined Monday Night Footall with his pontifications.
"He is so far right that he has to look back to see Newt Gingrich and Rush Linbaugh.
"After his words in 99 about wrestling I am suprised he would be bothered to be on a television show with "overgrown steroid fed idiots that couldn't get a job in a working world" and " their idiot fans who think the dicitionary is to be used as a booster seat in their double wides".
"Just sayin'."
I knew the guy was right-wing, but if he's really moreso than Limbaugh that surprises me. As you probably guessed, I don't make a point of listening to his radio show. I can barely tolerate the guy when he's been a guest on The Daily Show.
I try to be objective, and so his line about Obama not bringing anything to the table was kind of true. I'm still waiting for the guy to fulfill a lot of his campaign promises. Since you mentioned you watch Real Time with Bill Maher, you probably caught Bill's speech about how Obama hadn't been doing enough a while back, so you know what I mean. The joke got a mixed reaction, though, and that's putting it kindly.
And "does anybody believe in global warming?" Really, Dennis? Out of all the issues you could've picked, that's the one you chose to mock? They *did* have thermometers back in 1906, believe it or not. And just because some e-mails surfaced revealing a few guys screwed with some recent figures does not mean that every single other scientist out there who says it is happening--and there are a ton of them--is lying or wrong.
I didn't want to go off on a rant there...but I did. >_>

It seems to me that Punk probably wasn't properly dressed for Slammies.(pun intended)

Line of the night from Michael Cole, something like "John Cena is the WWE Superstar of The Year, but I'm sure he'd trade that award to still have the WWE belt."
Gee Michael ya think so? Next you're gonna tell me something crazy like Joe Mauer would trade his MVP award for a World Series ring.

I almost forgot Maria was still in the WWE til I saw her walking down to the ring. It was kinda funny that they did the Kanye West/ Taylor Swift thing with Maria and Batitsta. Now I see why they gave Diva of the Year to Maria, I think they gave Mickie James enough humiliation for awhile with the Piggie James story line. Maria really hasn't done much but some public relations stuff and refereeing a few diva matches. She hardly wrestles anymore.
I think most of of the awards were very predictable. Once the Undertaker was counted out of his match I knew Cena was going to be Superstar of the Year.
I don't think Raw was all that good again. Seemed like 3 hours of wasted television.

Ya know, the first time HHH awarded Shawn Michaels with a Slammy, he gave the award to Owen Hart. Ahh, fond memories..
BTW, Shawn has won a Slammy Award each time they've given one for Best Match! He & Razor won in 1996 for their Ladder Rematch and then he & Bret won in 1997 for their Iron Man match, and then his WrestleMania matches from this year and last year won the most recent versions.
Prior to the 1996 Slammy Awards, I don't think the WWF gave awards for Best Match or Match of the Year (at least, not a Slammy Award).

Of those aforementioned Slammy Awards, I find it interesting that Shawn Michaels did the acceptance speech every single time, but only once, his opponent was available for comment.
I don't know where Undertaker was this past Monday night, but in previous years, Ric Flair was retired/fired and Scott Hall was in WCW. Bret Hart made a speech in 1997 after Shawn Michaels accepted the award.
