Reports: Former WWE star Umaga seriously ill

Former WWE star Umaga, whose real name is Eddie Fatu, has been hospitalized and is in a “life-threatening condition,” according to reports from various wrestling Web sites.

Wrestlingobserver.com reported that family members had been told that Fatu, 36, suffered a heart attack. The Web site went on to say that he apparently fell asleep watching television Thursday night, and his wife found him hours later not breathing with blood coming out of his nose.

Fatu, who was fired by WWE last June for refusing to go to rehab after his second violation of the company’s Wellness Program, had just returned home to Houston after being part of the Hulkamania Tour in Australia.

That sucks. While not a big fan of the whole Samoan thing, nobody wants to see anyone go down. Hope he recovers.

Geez, this doesn't sound good at all. Best wishes to Fatu and his family for a recovery. While I don't think he was utilized well by the WWE, I found him to be a great performer in the ring for a bigger wrestler, and he did the best with the "don't talk" Samoan gimmick they gave him.

From what I hear, it is not good. Read that he's been taken off life support, and it's a matter of time. A tremendous talent, from a long line of hereditary talent.

RIP to Eddie Fatu, he will be greatly missed. I just wish he would of taken the rehab offer that WWE supposedly gave him. These people addicted to pain killers are almost always in denile. I recently have seen my own brother fall into this addiction and its landed him in jail. I just hope other wrestlers who have issues with drugs and pain killers will see this as a wake up call.

R.I.P. Eddie Fatu AKA Umaga :(
