Mini-Me to host Raw in Baltimore
It’s official: Diminutive actor Verne Troyer, best known as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies, will be the guest host for Raw a week from Monday in Baltimore at 1st Mariner Arena, WWE announced it on its Web site today.
As someone who will be in attendance at that show, I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed. I was hoping for someone such as Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis or former WWE diva Stacy Keibler (who says that she contacted WWE about the gig but no one returned her calls).
So Hershey, Pa., gets Jesse “The Body” Ventura this Monday, and we get Mini-Me. Baltimore really got the short end of the stick. Speaking of which, I’m sure there will be plenty of “comedy” with Troyer and Hornswoggle.
WWE also announced that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will be the host for the Dec. 7 Raw, and comedian Dennis Miller will do the honors for the three-hour Slammy Awards version of the show on Dec. 14.

We're guaranteed comedy skits with Hornswoggle and Troyer.
However, I hope WWE comes through and has Marella dressing up like Austin Powers. That should be comedy gold.

"Baltimore really got the short end of the stick."
I also would have accepted that Troyer will definitely not equal big business.

...So Chavo Guerrero could become the first superstar in recent memory to job to two little people in his career?
Sure WWE will think it will be neat to put Vern and Hornswoggle together in some kind of silly shenanigan, but they won't be laughing the next day when the ratings mirror the size of next week's host and his leprechaun buddy.

This absolutely SUCKS!!!! What the hell does he have to do with Baltimore or wrestling?! I know others had nothing to do with wrestling but at least they had a connection with the general area or wrestling. I'd rather they invite Vicky over from SD to be the guest GM, say it was a try out for future purposes. This SUCKS!!! Yes, it's so bad that it had to be said twice

Everyone show email WWE about this load of crap, I just did. Probably won't do anything but at least we can hope they'll at least have Stacy stop by for at least a cameo. Here's the page for it:

I'll just say that this announcement did not to add to my anticipation of attending this show.
When SD and ECW were here back in July we got those great Ryder/Christian and Hardy/Morrison matches.
Now we'll get hijinks with two midgets and all the usual junk with Cena and DX.
I want the HulkaMania World Tour to come to Maryland!

I'd much rather see Troyer host than Keibler. He's a bigger star and it will be a very fun show. I'll admit Ray Lewis would have been a cool pick for Baltimore.
Troyer has a new film coming out on Christmas called The Imagainarium of Doctor Parnassus, which is Heath Ledger's last acting role.

Dear WWE,
Since I will be at Survivor Series this Sunday, I was unsure as to whether or not I should attend Raw when it comes to Baltimore in two weeks. Thank you for making my decision a little bit easier with your choice of the guest host.

Hey, Kevin. We should organize a Baltimore wrestling fans' meetup for this. If not for this one, for the next time WWE or TNA is in town.
I would be totally down with that.

WWE ought to know that having anybody who was a regular on "The Surreal Life" as a guest host will usually not be a good idea.

I agree we got the short end of stick there ---- I've got tickets to that show and I'm really disappointed. I really thought Stacey or Ray Lewis would host this. A friend of mine is a friend of Stacey's aunt and told me that Stacey will be home for Thanksgiving - so that would have been great for her to host it. Anyone other than Verne Troyer --- although that opens up a lot of doors/comedy sketches - not only with Hornswoggle/Verne - but with the Big Show and/or DX. I'm sure a lot of the kids in attendance will like him being guest host. Personally, I'm really disappointed.

"Baltimore really got the short end of the stick" I've noticed in the last week that you've started to think you're a stand up comic in your posts. Is this a new side gig?
RESPONSE FROM KE: Actually I was sitting down when I wrote those posts. I got a million of em.

For just a second Kev, from the title of the article, I thought this was a self-deprecating way of telling us that YOU would be hosting!
Would you, if they asked?
You would get to mark out in the ring with HBK...
But you would have to hug Hornswoggle...
Tough one...
RESPONSE FROM KE: Sure, if they asked. don't see that happening in this lifetime, although I would be better than Dr. Ken.

I live in Dallas and I'm thoroughly disappointed that Mark Cuban is guesting here. Now I'll have to hear why the Mavs are far superior to all NBA teams. Thanks WWE, at least I won't have to put up with any midget comedy.

Ughh!
Arghh!
Why?
I've stopped watching Raw already and this will now put the stake in the heart!

Judging by people's responses he's already got plenty of heat, why not just have him be a heel

I was hoping for Mayor Dixon myslef. At least she's in good shape.
Hey, no one mentioned Michael Phelps either

Just in the last 5 minutes I wrote 3 skits for Ray Lewis that have me laughing out loud.
Unfortunately, they would never get on TV.

ok even though, I am a Steelers fan, but why not get someone like Siragusa...That guy would be a great host. Someone with a real personality?? I mean he would be better than Steeler Ben Roethlisberger who could have been replaced by any athlete who would have done the same "average" job. Being a good athlete doesn't translate to entertaining.
But Verne Troyer. Is this the lowest D level host yet?? Wasn't the guy who played Balki (from the Surreal life and whatever show he was on) available?
