Stacy Keibler clobbers Cal Ripken, now faces Michael Phelps
Former WWE diva and Rosedale native Stacy Keibler disposed of one Baltimore sports icon and now will go up against another in baltimoresun.com’s Baltimore Celebrity Smackdown, a tournament to determine Baltimore’s biggest celebrity based on online voting.
In the second round, Keibler defeated Orioles Hall of Famer Cal Ripken by a margin of 78.4 percent to 21.6 percent to advance to the Sweet 16. Nearly 32,000 votes were cast. Next up for Keibler is record-setting Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.
Will Keibler’s run in the tournament continue to have legs, or will Phelps make a big splash?

I don't even know where to being with this. Well first Stacy who? Never heard of her and highly doubt that people abroad have either. Don't even know what WWE has to do with sports....it's more like acting. Can't say I'm surprised she beat Ripken given that it's in the sports section which mainly men read and I'm sure they voted with their lil head (she is gorgeous afterall). Not to mention when you add Smackdown in the title of the challenge it is bound to attract WWE fans making it an uneven playing field. But I guess it's all in good fun and Mike's Gold Medals more than speaks for it's self.
RESPONSE FROM KE: The Baltimore Celebrity Smackdown contest is located under the Entertainment section of baltimoresun.com. It includes all types of Baltimore celebs, not just sports figures. As to your final point, I don't think anyone should take the BCS to seriously.

Oh boy, this looks like a toughie. Phelps has an international fan base, and he got more total votes last round than did Keibler.
Come on people, let's get homegirl up where she beongs! You can vote every day, you know!

"Will Keibler’s run in the tournament continue to have legs, or will Phelps make a big splash?"
10/10 on pun usage today, sir.

What a joke! You've done your job! Congrats. You've created controversay. Your now getting thousands hits on the web. Advertisers are having to pay. Your sales people are out selling. Say"Look how many 10's of thousand of hits our website receives daily"
You know as well as I do. Nowhere, on God's green earth and especially in Baltimore is that woman ever going to come close to beating Junior! NOWHERE...NO CAN DO!

I think this goes to prove that no one has any idea what is going on here? Who even knew where to vote? Hell, I didn't even know about this until I saw it linked on the front page.

Has the WWE issued you a "cease and desist" yet for the use of "Smackdown"?

I have noticed that when you first post about her opponents if you go there right away the results are pretty close, once all your readers see that Keibler is against someone else they all flock to vote for her and it turns into a one sided contest.

Stacy is way hotter than Phelps so I will vote for her.
When she trounces Phelps and goes against Jennifer Gilbert, I will still vote for her because, well she is hotter and can probably kick Gilbert's B--- in a match.

I find it interesting that Kevin who is giving us the link to vote, also writes a blog for professional wrestling ;(...I think the voting is rigged Big TIME! I demand a re-count!
Also the main link to vote has been broken since beginning of voting..not fair! I want a recount...
