A closer look at another ratings dip for TNA Impact

After last week’s episode of TNA Impact did one of its lowest ratings this year, I wrote that the company shouldn’t panic. I still feel that way after Thursday’s episode did a 0.9, which is down from last week’s 1.0 and marks the first time all year that the show has gone below that number.

The thing to keep in mind is that Impact was up against the season-opening NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans on NBC. The game did a 12.8 rating, making it the most-watched televised sports event since the Super Bowl between the Steelers and Arizona Cardinals last February.

As for last week’s lower-than-usual rating for Impact, it may have been due in part to a DVR glitch that resulted in the show not being taped as scheduled.

Let’s see how Impact does this coming Thursday when there’s no NFL game and – hopefully – no technical difficulties. I expect that show to do above a 1.0, but even if that isn’t the case, I hope that TNA does not back off on pushing guys like Matt Morgan and Hernandez, who are much-needed fresh faces at the top of the card.

.... not enough steiner .

Im sure TNA knew the ratings for this wk were going to be low due to the football game.

How apropos that my Steiner post was the sole comment (just a coincidence) for nearly 24 hrs . Enough time to make my point :)

Let us all hope TNA remembers that these things take time, Stone Cold, The Rock, Orton, Shawn Michaels et al were not sierstars overnight. Please stay with the program, the new pushes of Hernandez, Morgan, Eric Young etc. let them grow, give them continued face time and I am positive they will not let us or TNA down. One can hope and one must hope that they stick with this new direction that I think will not necessarily vault them past WWE but strongly secure their own nitche that over time can then put them one on one with todays wrestling equivilant of the oil Rockefellers monopoly run by VKM.

The ratings dip 2 weeks ago was due to start of college football season on Thursdays on ESPN. TNA Impact will not come close to the ratings they were having until after football season is over. Likewise, Raw will start a ratings decline this Monday as Monday Night Football returns. Football is king!!!

I agree DT, All Hail Football in all of it's glory!!!

TNA Wrestling is trying to capture the fans' attention by signing some of the biggest stars of the Monday Night Wars - Booker T, Kurt Angle, and now Mick Foley.

TNA wrestling are Entertaining. I agree with Duffman.Comment are really nice.New wrestlers comes so i think that episode is being much interesting. rating should be high from myn side.

Its only trying to capture the fans attention. Their only motive is to make more money through their fans.
