Hey Kevin - shaping up as a nice interview . Can't wait to see/hear next parts . Oh , to be about 1996 again .
P.S . - Mark was certainly a better wrestler than he is softball player . ( just alittle local info ) .

Great interview Kevin. Never thought I would be interested in anything to do with Van Hammer, but it sounds like he has an interesting story to tell. Look forward to the rest of it.

It is refreshing to hear someone give an honest assesment of how they got in and how luck, genetics, and being in the right place at the right time gave them the break.
The broken foot cracks me up. Imagine being in his shoes, I mean shoe at that point.
Can't wait for the rest Kevin.

Good interview. Never thought I would be looking forward to a Van Hammer part 2 interview either...but I am.

I only saw him at the begging of his televised wrestling career...funny even as a teen back then I could tell that he really was not that familiar with wrestling (as he mentioned).

Wait a minute! First Torrie Wilson, then this guy. Kev, have you actually spoke personally to a lot of other wrestlers in the WWE as well? If so, wow! Then you're not just some guy off the street blogging about his idols in his spare time like I thought but you're actually in some high role to be talking to these people one on one. I envy you. Have you ever spoken to CM Punk before. What is his e-mail address?

RESPONSE FROM KE: Check the Q&As and video interviews on the blog page. All the interviews since I started the blog in 2007 are archived. An interview with CM Punk from two years ago is in there.

I second a previous person who posted. I wouldn't think I'd care much about Van Hammer either, but his story is very unique. I was surprised how interested I was. If you could keep doing interviews for the blog, then it would be great. Can't wait for the Jim Cornette one!!

Used Car Salsman times ten. This guys wouldn't know truth if it bits him on the ass.

Mark Hildreth aka Van Hammer is telling the reporter the absolute truth about his life. I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Mark back in the 80's and 90's in Atlanta and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He was always a hard worker and very determined to succeed in life. He was working two jobs at the time I met him. He never depended on anyone or took a hand-out. I wish him well.
