Matt Hardy's injury status
As if WWE doesn’t already have enough talent on the disabled list, Matt Hardy is expected to be out for eight to 10 weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery several days ago, according to a report in The Sun (U.K).
Hardy suffered a torn abdominal muscle two weeks ago during a triple threat match on Raw against Kofi Kingston and MVP. The injury has to be frustrating for Hardy, who has been wrestling with a cast on his right hand since breaking it during a match with his brother Jeff at the Backlash pay-per-view in late April.
If there is a silver lining for Hardy, it’s that some time off TV may be beneficial to his character. He wasn’t getting much of a push on Raw before being sent to Smackdown as part of the 15-wrestler trade last week. WWE now will have the opportunity to hit the re-start button on his character when he returns.

Why is it that the same wresters are constantly injured? Should this be a lesson to the WWE about going crazy over muscle-freaks? Jeff Hardy does the most dangerous moves and his absences from TV haven't dealt with any of that.

I don't think the heel turn did Hardy any favors. Frankly, I'm not a fan of his when he's a face, but as a heel I find him boring and completely irrelevant. In my humble opinion, he belongs in ECW, competing for the belt with Benjamin and Christian, and helping the young bucks get over.

I like Hardy as a heel. His woe-is-me grimace with that cast was good stuff. He can get over as an annoying, grating, whiny heel if he could ever get healthy.

Never really considered Matt Hardy as a muscle-freak...

i think matt's going to come back and turn face and saying the inury give him time to think about what he did to jeff but jeff says hes never going to forgive him so matt keeps trying to get jeff to forgive him so matt keeps helping jeff win match but when he loss a champship match jeff turns on him and turns heel

Check out Matt's myspace post. The tear was a congenital condition that worsened after he had his appendix removed. It prevented him from working out much the last couple years, hence the weight gain. I guess those that called him fat owe him an apology.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Absolutely. I never once mentioned Hardy's weight gain.
