Edge’s injury
Pwinsider.com is reporting that Edge suffered an ankle injury after landing badly during his match with Jeff Hardy at a WWE house show Friday night in San Diego. There’s no word yet as to how serious the injury is, but he did have to be helped to the back.
If Edge is out for a significant length of time it obviously is a big blow for WWE, which just put the unified WWE tag team title on Edge and Chris Jericho last Sunday.
Note: Check back later for my thoughts on Friday night’s episode of Smackdown. I hope everyone is having a happy and safe Fourth of July.

Huge blow for Smackdown! And Edge and Jericho were just made a team! I was so excited! And I even sensed an Edge face turn too... here's hoping it's not too serious

I read that Edge has a broken ankle. How long he will be out is really up in the air right now. I guess they will take the tag team belts off him and Jericho. How this guy stays as one of the top wrestlers on Smackdown when he is getting hurt so much.

Have you seen the latest on pwinsider? They reckon he'll be out 'till January! Just as WWE made a good decision they're gonna have to take it back again :-(

Hope it's not serious he's been the reason I've gone back to watching WWE in 2007 and I've kept in touch with it because of his character and interviews.

pwinsider is saying that he has suffered a torn achilles heel tendon, and could be out for up to 6 months, which is until January 2010.
How can it happen!? Smackdown is going to suffer because of this!!!

I will never forget when Owen Hart landed on his ankle in early-1998 and it bent sideways during a match on RAW, but fortunately, he barely missed ring time and he still had his match at WrestleMania XXIV with HHH.
When I read the above cited comments, that memory of Owen's leg was the first image I had.

Edge showed what a class act he was when he apologized to the San Diego crowd for his injury, breaking with this heel theme.
I hope he gets well.
However, if there is a "best" time for Edge to get hurt, it was now. He wasn't involved in any major angles right now.
Let's hope he gets well soon.
