Hart Dynasty steps up again on ECW
The Hart Dynasty has wasted little time in becoming one of the main reasons to watch ECW. On Tuesday night’s show, the duo of Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith defeated the odd couple team of Christian and Jack Swagger in a really good match. A week ago on ECW, Kidd had an exciting match against Christian.
As a team or as singles wrestlers, Kidd and Smith look like future stars. The other member of The Hart Dynasty, Natalya, also has been impressive in the ring when given a chance and on the microphone.
I wonder if WWE has given any thought to having Kidd and Smith win the WWE tag team title from Carlito and Primo. That way, THD could stay on the ECW roster, but they also could make appearances on higher-profile shows Raw and Smackdown.
Other thoughts on Tuesday’s show:
I loved it when Christian brought out a box of tissues during Tommy Dreamer’s promo. I consider myself to be a sentimental guy, but enough with the waterworks already. I liked Dreamer’s character better when he was drinking out of urinals. ...
The crowd booed Christian for power-bombing Dreamer through a table during the opening segment. I guess they didn’t see last week’s show when Dreamer suckered Christian and laid him out. As Christian said, what he did to Dreamer was a receipt. By the way, how is it that Dreamer, who put his body through so much punishment in ECW and even wrestled with a broken neck, could be hurt so bad going through a table that he was unable to compete in the main event? He sure looked like he was OK when he did a run-in at the end of the show. ...
What was with Vladimir Kozlov – the man with the greatest scowl ever – smiling and playing to the crowd? Next thing you know he’ll be telling us how much he loves “Double Double E.” Who knows, maybe he’ll get over better as a lovable big lug than he has as a monster heel, just like The Great Khali has. ...
If you would have told me a couple years ago that Tony Atlas would be wrestling on a WWE TV show in 2009, I never would have believed it. Then again, I never would have believed that Dreamer would be a champion in WWE in 2009, either.

i was wondering the same thing about kozlov myself. if he is suppose to be a face now it would even the roster as far as faces and heels go for the male wrestlers. if that was the case i would've had him save evan bourne from henry and atlas. it may be a nice feud but probably a boring match. hopefully dreamer's reign won't last long

got to say that i have been enjoying ecw more and more lately, i find that unlike on the bigger shows where the likes of HHH keep new talent down, on ecw you can see great new talent you only need to look at hart dynasty and smackdown draftee John morrison.
Quick pointer was i the only one to notice the reference to the hurricane in the accident scene - Maybe it will be gregory helms mild mannered reporter during the day and THE HURRICANE by night?

Kev stop stealing my thunder I said the thing about how the Harts should have a program with The Colons a few weeks back, as far as Dreamer & Atlas yuor dead on with that Kozlov as a face just seems strange. On a totally different note isn't amazing that C M punks 2 reigns are longer than Jeff Hardy's considering the amount of merchandise they both sell i could have seen atleast letting jeff hold the title to the next PPV then Punk cash it in.

I hope the Hart Dynasty gets to be really huge. I would like to see them go to Smackdown or Raw so Natalya can get back in the ring. She's seems to be improving on the mic but I hope she gets a chance to get back in the ring.
What is up with Kozlov smiling and playing up to the crowd. I really don't understand why he isn't involved in some way with the ECW championship instead of all these handicap matches.
I see the split between Mark Henry and Tony Atlas. Atlas was humiliated by losing to Evan Bourne. I expected Mark Henry to jump on Atlas instead of going after Bourne. Nice way to treat a Hall of Famer.
I am so bored with the ECW title, wish they find someone else or put the belt back on Swagger.

I thought Atlas looked good for his age, but his opponent Evan Bourne, can make anyone look good in the ring.

Do you think that perhaps they can build the Hart Dynasty up, then have them join legacy (That's Legacy's only hope right now), then eventually have a feud in there?
I really hope they build the Hart Dynasty correctly and avoid another wasted gold mine. It is unbelieveable that both Smackdown and ECW are so far suprior to Raw these days.

Koslov turning face? A monster heel turning face isn't a shocking progress. See "Great Khali".................
Then what? Is Koslov is going to have his own Kiss Cam ?

What about the deal with the guy dressed in green trashing equipment backstage? Angry Irishman, or did a "Hurricane" go through?

In my ongoing Raw frustration I've begun watching ECW more and more and last night was great. There's good wrestling. Stars are actually breaking out instead of breaking down. Evan Bourne didn't seem like he'd make it before he got hurt. He seems so much more confident now though. Christian has really gotten his swagger back since his return (pardon the pun). Jack Swagger is coming along too and really getting a grasp on being a heel. I thought you were crazy a few months ago when I saw him and you were saying he'd be huge one day.
Plus, there's stuff like the green blur backstage that is a small, but fun detail that rewards a fan who knows what it meant. Which is refreshing since Raw and even Smackdown to an extent go out of their way to antagonize real fans (i.e. ignoring history with Big Show and the STF or Mysterio's mask).
Fun stuff.

I didn't see the Kozlov smile. I used his match as an opportunity to switch over and watch the last three minutes of the hockey game.

...and maybe writing/reciting poetry...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I thought the same thing about Dreamer to. He's been hit with countless singapore canes, chairs, etc;, and yet gets sent through one table and can't wrestle later? That's RAW style writing there. Oh well, I'm still glad to see him as champion.
Oh whoa, I was reading an article on Michael Oher, and I knew he had a tough upbringing but I didn't know he went to 11 schools in 9 years! I knew he grew up with a family that was not his, but man, I hope he has a long, great career. In a league full of Pacman's, Ochocinco's, T.O's, and Vick's, it's sure great to see someone like Oher make it. I'd love to see the Ravens cut McGahee and sign Warrick Dunn, just for the sake of seeing Dunn and Oher together. They're two of the great stories in the NFL.

The Hart Dynasty is great, but I'm not into their theme music. Tyson Kidd's theme was fine, but just add the opening Bret Hitman Hart guitar riff to that. For DH Smith singles matches, I think having that riff lead into a guitar version of Rule Britannia would be awesome.
Hopefully ECW can keep Tommy Dreamer interesting for the next 3-5 years, because he can have good matches with the right opponents. From a storyline perspective, this is the most interesting he has been in the WWE...probably ever.
Good post as usual Mr. Eck.

Hopefully Dreamers reign will end next Monday. The belt should be on a legit or rising star like Christian or Swagger.

How sad is it that Raw has quickly become the "C" show in terms of quality and entertainment. The Harts are one of the main reasons ECW has leapfrogged Raw in my opinion. I'd be interested to see what you would do to fix Raw, if you were given a hypothetical chance Kevin. Thanks

Something is definitely up with Kozlov and his smiling. WWE made sure that people know that by posting that smile on their website.

ECW and especially storylines involving The Hart Dynasty or Christian have me hooked. In fact, I usually either skip RAW or fast forward through it while ECW has me hooked.
It seems like Christian might have a heel turn around the corner, his actions against Dreamer as well as his facial expressions are getting a bit heelish.

With due respect to David Hart Smith, I think that Tyson Kidd is the top talent in the Hart Dynasty, so he should have been in the center of the Dynasty's side of the graphic when the tag team main event was advertised for later in the show.
