Video of Vince McMahon on ESPN News

WWE chairman Vince McMahon discussed the scheduling conflict between WWE and the Denver Nuggets on ESPN News. The interview was conducted by former WWE employee Jonathan Coachman.

It’s clear from the segment that McMahon knows a great PR opportunity when he sees one.
One thing that I found funny about the clip was how Coachman called his former boss “sir” and told him twice how great it was to see him, and McMahon acted as if he couldn’t have cared less.

McMahon is so old he probably doesn't remember Coach.

Hey Kev, thanks for the video post. About Vince not acknowledging Coach's "great to see you sir" lines, in all fairness to Vince, he probably realized that this interview would be seen by a mainstream audience who probably wouldn't be aware of Coach's WWE tenure... Vince probably wanted to keep it to a level of "Coach representing ESPN, Vince representing WWE" and simply state WWE's case in regards to the scheduling conflict, which is far more important in the big picture than drawing light to the fact that Coach, the ESPN commentator was a former WWE performer.
Either that, or Vince only had an audio feed from ESPN and didn't realize or care who he was talking to!

I'm pretty sure he called it World Wrestling Federation!

How does he mess that up?

RESPONSE FROM KE: Yes, he did say it. Vince actually made a few slips of the tongue in the interview.

While it is clear that McMahon does know a great PR opportunity when he sees one . I , on the other hand recognize an arrogant a------ when I see one .

That's why he's the Boss!

Notice how Vince says the F word at the start of the clip. Now that's not good business Vince!

Vince hates people who have productive lives after leaving the "World Wrestling Federation".

He couldn't even say Coach's name? Real classy.

Good Stuff. But nothing to do but give Vince a couple Million for the issue and the WWE will reset the date. That's my Guess.

To be fair to McMahon, there was a delay from Coach speaking on TV to where it was coming through to Vince's headphones.

That explains the hesitation. Vince was still listening to the question at least a couple of seconds after Coachman finished asking it.

there was no way for vince to know who the guy he was talking to was coach. when you have split screen interviews like this is usually means that they are in seperate studios and the two can only hear each other's voice.

RESPONSE FROM KE: I know how those interviews work and you're right when youy say that they probably couldn't see each other. But you honestly believe Vince didn't know it was Coach? Don't you think someone might have told him it was Coach or that Coach may have spoken with him right before they went on the air? At the very least Vince would know Coach's voice, right?. And who else on ESPN News would call him "sir" and say how nice it was to see him again?

Vince McMahon is the clown that drives the little car.

Elevation - While I love wrestling , I appear to have the same sentiments as you re: McMahon , and I've been watching wrestling for 45 of my 50 years .

Denver Post is reporting that WWE is moving this Monday's RAW to L.A.! Real bummer for Denver fans (though they're coming back in August...not to the Pepsi Center though, but to the Coliseum!).

"McMahon, still irked at Kroenke Sports Enterprises for double-booking the Pepsi Center, said he'll have some fun with the show at the Staples Center. He said there will be a confrontation between himself and an actor posing as Stan Kroenke, owner of the Nuggets and the Pepsi Center."

Vince did another ESPN interview(he's gotta be loving this) where he said he'll be on Raw this Monday to confront the Nuggets owner-this should be interesting.

From this, I'd say that punt from Randy Orton may have done some real damage.
