4 (1988): Wrestled Hogan to a double disqualification in the WWF title tournament
5 (1989): Lost to Jake Roberts by disqualification
6 (1990): Along with Haku, lost the WWF tag team title to Demolition
Non-wrestling appearance

Comments: Match against Hogan at WM 3 is one of the most famous matches not only in WrestleMania history, but in pro wrestling history. Vince McMahon once told me in an interview that as hot as Hogan was in 1987, “I would never have attempted to go into Pontiac Stadium without Andre.” Although Andre was basically immobile by that point, the match got over on star power and the excitement of seeing two of the most famous wrestlers of all time facing each other on a grand stage. ... Wrestled Hogan the following year at WM 4 in the marquee advertised match of the WWF title tournament. ... Body slam challenge against Studd at WM 1 was the top match on the undercard. ... Was last man standing in much-hyped battle royal at WM 2 that featured several NFL players, including William “Refrigerator” Perry. ... At WM 6, in his final WrestleMania match, Andre had a falling out with manager Bobby Heenan and turned babyface.
I will count down the top 25 stars in WrestleMania history every day through April 5.

Kev, remember Andre did appear at WM 7. He came out in the Bossman/Curt Hennig match to beat up on Bobby Heenan's family. Not a notable appearance per se, but it got him on the show.
RESPONSE FROM KE: Thanks. I admit that I completely forgot about that. I updated the post.

I didn't have andre this low in the draft its been so long i forgot that he was in the first 6 WM's w/ a guest appearence at 7, even though he was probably in the most highest profile WM in the 80's i think at best Cena has actually been in the final 2 matches for the last half decade which should rank him above Andre I am wondering though can a Diva get any love in your countdown or is this just for the superstars only
RESPONSE FROM KE: I wouldn't put any of the women ahead of the 25 men on the list.

Kevin , you've got to admit that Andre's career wasn't really made off his wrestling ability . At the time he was ( no offense meant ) a freak . Not to be confused with my man Scott Steiner freak .
When we were kids we were awed by him . In retrospect , he was big and lumbering and lived off sitting on people and giant headbutts . IMO his only draw was his size .
It's a shame the the medical field wasn't as advanced when he was alive so his condition could have been treated . As I'm sure you know Paul Wright has the same condition that's slowed with medication and he leads a "normal " life .

Andre is a legend/icon. Saw him wrestle live in MSG many times as a kid. He was beyond compare and untouchable back in those days.

I got Kurt Angle at # 10. Epic battles with Benoit, Lesnar and Michales are 5 star classics.(I think the Michaels match alone puts him on this list).Triple threat with Benoit and Jericho and title match with Eddie are also amazing prefomance's.
Again I'll list my next two as I won't be able to check back in till Mon.
At # 9 I have Andre,That was a really intresting comment from Vince about not going into the Silverdome without Andre.Makes sense, and his WM 3 match with Hogan MADE WresleMania,WRESTLEMANIA in my opinion. The bar was set so high after that. Not to mention all the other noteable apperances you mentioned above. The body slam match being one of my favorites.
I have "The Hitman" Bret Hart at # 8. He had 5 star classic's with Michales and Owen. One of my favorite WM moments was at 13 where he and Austin switched heel and babyface rolls during the course of one match,(that will never be done again). His Survivor Series match with Austin is the match that put Stone Cold on the map but that WM 13 match is the match that put Austin OVER!
Hitman even got quality matches out of Yokozuna at 9 & 10.It's to bad Montreal had to happen, because if Hart would have been with Vince antother 5 years or so he would have had many more great matches that would have put him in my top 5.Or if WWE would have realized his potential sooner we would have been spared the :19 second squash of the Bolesheviks at WM 6.

I'm glad you have Andre in the top 10. Vince is right, he couldn't have pulled off WM 3 without Andre. Andre was my #9.
My #10 is HHH. I realize he has been in many main events, but that's why he is top 10. The wrestlers ahead of him on my list just have done more overall in WMs.

My favorite Andre moment was when he stood between Ted DiBiase and a perched Randy Savage, and casually said, "Jump." Awesome! I remember at that point, my friends and I were more excited for Andre than concerned for Randy Savage (though we'd otherwise been cheering Savage throughout the tournament).
Good man for #10, no doubt!

I put Andre higher on my top 10, 8 instead of 10, I gave 10 to Roddy Piper (Your #9), but one of the reasons I put Andre so high was based on the strength of Wrestlemania 3 and because I have strong memories of being 6 years old and being so excited to watch him at Wrestlemania 6, which I attended with my father.

Jack,
That's not entirely accurate, Andre refused treatment that could have slowed or possibly even halted progression of the disease. The Big Show had his disease effectively halted in the 90s with pituitary surgery.
