The truth about Randy Orton’s ‘wife’

As many of you have noted, the woman identified last night on Raw as Randy Orton’s wife, Samantha, was not his real-life wife, the former Samantha Speno. The woman playing the role of Samantha was former Playboy playmate Laura Croft, according to pwinsider.com.

I admit that I thought it was the real Samantha while watching Raw. I have seen pictures of Orton’s wife in the past and even saw her in person at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last year. Looking back today at some pictures of Orton and his wife, it’s obvious that it was a different person last night, although there is some resemblance.

I was right about one thing, though: The woman sitting next to Orton last night was no actress. I wonder if the real Mrs. Orton is embarrassed that people might think she is actually that vapid.

I hear she attended the same acting school as HHH and the Shockmaster.

Unfortunately I too was seen with someone other than my "real life" wife . She was not a good actress either .

I'll speak for you on this one Eck.If everyone would just read the other comments that people have posted first before writting your own you'd see it was only like the 3rd comment down that Eck correced himself to the fact that was not Orton's wife but yet we had to hear about it another 50 times cause everybody wants to be first to be a know-it-all.Now, Kev's got to write another blog to clear things up again,and I know he does it because he love's us and, the blogging, but cut the guy a break,I don't think he get's as much rest as he'd like,and we say we love him but we sure don't show it sometimes.
Eck, you get a gold star for the day in the vocabulary department for the use of the word vapid.

RESPONSE FROM KE: Appreciate you having mne back, but in all fairness, the comments don't get posted immediately because they have to be approved. And sometimes bunches of them get approved at once, so the later commenters don't necessarily know that there have been others who made the same point.

Lol @ jack's comment!!!

@Andre

I wait for every single post to appear on this blog and make it a point to read it. And if I do have any comments to make, I post them immediately. Like Kevin said above, it takes time for the comments to come up after approval. In fact, I knew that wasn't Orton's wife and posted a comment in a flash. I hoped my comment would be the first one, but alas it was somewhere like 20th down the pecking order. The comments on this blog get submitted awesomely quickly, but approval takes time.

Doesn't make us egotistical.

First off, love your blog, I read it all the time. Pwinsider.com is right about the fake Mrs. Orton. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Croft verifies this...

Well, this Laura Croft is from Jacksonville, which is where Raw took place. Also, she appeared on the reality show, "Outback Jack". Current WWE Diva Maria Kanellis also appeared as a "contestant" on that show. So, it's possible that Maria recommended her to the WWE.

Kevin,

First off HUGE fan of your blog, your perspective as both an insider and a fan make this a true wrestling blog.

Regarding "Samantha"/ Laura: if the character of "Samantha" was just going to sit there, then they did a great job on casting... she was almost like a piece of art.. just something nice to look at.

But we should also take this for what it is.. probably the only connection between WWE and Playboy.. Unless they're still doing a Diva Pictorial this year?
