No Way Out preview
Predictions for tonight’s WWE pay-per-view:
WWE title elimination chamber match (Champion Edge, The Big Show, Jeff Hardy, Vladimir Kozlov, Triple H, The Undertaker): The card for WrestleMania 25 will likely begin to take shape based on what happens in this match. I’ve become convinced that Triple H will win the title tonight and face Randy Orton at WrestleMania, as it will finally be acknowledged that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are married. I also could see Edge-Big Show and Undertaker-Kozlov match-ups taking place at WrestleMania. As for Hardy, his elimination will probably be due to interference from his brother, Matt.
World heavyweight title elimination chamber match (Champion John Cena, Chris Jericho, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Mike Knox, Rey Mysterio): There’s little doubt that Cena will retain the title. With Jericho doing an angle with Mickey Rourke and/or Ric Flair at WrestleMania, he’s not winning the belt, and the other four guys have no shot whatsoever. It will be interesting to see how long Kingston and Knox last in the match.
Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred match: This figures to be a wild one, with McMahon likely to do some crazy spots. Hopefully, McMahon won’t blow up quickly like he did a few weeks ago on Raw. Orton is going to win, and hopefully it will be decisive. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do an angle in which Orton injures McMahon. There remains the possibility that Stephanie McMahon could show up and turn on her brother. A few weeks ago, that’s where I thought things were headed, but I don’t think so anymore.
JBL vs. Shawn Michaels in an All or Nothing match: I figured a match with this kind of stipulation – Michaels either gets all the money owed to him and is released from his contract, or he continues working for JBL and loses the rights to his name and likeness – would take place at WrestleMania and be the climax to their feud, so I’m surprised to see it on this show. After months of buildup, it still seems like Michaels and JBL should face each other at WrestleMania, but maybe that is no longer the case. This is a wild guess: Michaels wins and John Cena somehow gets involved, leading to a three-way for the title at WrestleMania between Cena, Michaels and JBL.
ECW champion Jack Swagger vs. Finlay: Swagger has a program with Christian waiting for him, so he’ll get the win.

hey Eck,
Am a regular reader of your blog, and really enjoy reading the blog entries other than ofcourse comments about Bret "The Hitman" Hart( I am Indian nowhere near canadian).anyway coming to No Way out if your prediction turns out to be right , neither trips vs orton or the triple threat for the title at wrestlemania excite me......and i surely hope not that the undertaker is stuck with kozlov at wrestlemania !! coz we will obviously know whose streak is going to end and the dead man definitely deserves a better opponent.... what are your thoughts on that?
Keep up the Good Work.
Cheers

Kevin do you think that it might be a little to obvious that cena will win do think a swerve is coming
although it is very odvious that cena will retain
but ur thoughts???

Yeh it does make sense that Triple H could win the WWE championship and Randy Orton could challenge him at Wrestlemania. Their feud sort of end suddenly when Rand broke his collarbone against Triple H but what would happen with the storyline regarding the McMahons if this happened or could it just completely end at NO way out.

Kevin,
Interesting predictions. You think maybe they would want to make Cena and Orton the champions on RAW and SD, since they are considered the guys to carry the company into the next decade, instead of having them on the same show. But what happens to DiBiase and Rhodes. I guess they would stay with Orton.
Also, is Trish Stratus really coming back for WrestleMania 25? I've heard two possible matches are her vs. either Beth Phoenix or Michelle McCool, but it's not confirmed with either.

It's too bad they won't put the title back on Jeff. Brother vs. Brother for the title at Wrestlemania would be so much better.
As for JBL/HBK, I think they can drag it out to Wrestlemania. They can have a double DQ, double countout or something like that. The WWE can find enough ways to screw the fans out of a decisive finish and drag it out.

Kevin,
At first I was apprehensive about a Cena-Micheals-JBL triple threat, but considering that Michaels winning the World title could help him get back to "financial security", it wouldn't be a bad booking job on the part of WWE. I wish that we could see Undertaker vs. Triple H at 'Mania again. Undertaker is so much more exciting to watch than in 2001. Taker 09' vs. Triple H would be big money. It's not going to happen, of course. I'm not jonesing for an Edge/Big Show match at 'Mania but I suppose Edge beating Big Show on the biggest stage in wrestling would be an "upset". Watching wrestling is a lesson in patience, and there is no time more taxing on a fan's patience than between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. I hope WWE books a stellar 25th 'Mania.

ugh, kevin you think this might a WM 25 card?
Taker vs Kozlov
Big Show vs Edge
Cena vs Michaels vs JBL
sounds more like a really bad no mercy card. I can see this making sense, but to be honest, this sounds awful. WWE should be pulling out all the stops for the 25th anniversary and need to have a card thats epic. Those matches just don't cut it.

Just a thought: on Friday nights broadcast of smackdown mytv did a local commercial for raw in Boston this march it advertised a main event of cena and dx vs legacy. To me this confirms the fact that hhh will be revealed as stephanies husband.

I'm suprised Christian hasnt got a match, maybe he will have a non important match, but would be a waste for him to be in a dark match.
The only appeal about the elimination chamber is how Kofi is going to do, Cena is always going to win, Smackdown elimination chamber will be good, I agree with you Kev and forsee a Triple H win, hopefuly start of a rko HHH feud. I dont see Edge vs Big Show an Undertaker vs Kozlov bieng Wrestlemania quality...and if Zozlov doesnt win he will lose his undefeated streak, so wont even be a battle of the undefeated streaks. Atleast the new Big Show character is more interesting, I am curios where WWE is going with this, but on past performances not looking forward to an Edge vs Bg Show match on the biggest stage of them all
I too am expecting a big spot in the Orton vs shane match (backlash 2001 comes to mind), and expecting a huge angle and turn such as stephenia turning, fingers crossed.
Likewise I think there will be a huge angle in the shawn vs JBL match

That's a really great idea you have about Triple H vs. Orton. It would be cool to see.

Eck was definitely right about a new WWE champ. Wonder who Edge ticked off to get buried like that?

Hahahaha!!!!! Cena lost!!!!! hehehehe! feels so good. now i only hope that Cena isn't made champ again at WM25. that would be stupid. Cena relegated to mid-card! wow! that would be awesome!! Go Edge! Go Orton! champs at wm25!
