More trouble for Jeff Hardy?
There is a report on pwinsider.com that there was an issue involving Jeff Hardy at the airport in Nashville, Tenn., earlier today. There are no further details.
It would be inappropriate at this juncture to speculate, but it would be quite a blow to Hardy’s career and to WWE if this turns out to be something serious.
Hardy, as most know, is scheduled to face Triple H for the WWE title at the No Mercy pay-per-view on Oct. 5. The story line appears to be building to an eventual title run for Hardy.
Hardy returned to action in May after serving a 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy. A third violation would result in his termination.

Kevin,
Off topic, but I wanted to ask you about Edge. Before which PPV do you think Edge will return; No Mercy, Cyber Sunday, or Survivor Series? When he comes back, do you think he will remain a hell, or come back wearing a "grey hat"? Most people that got "sent to hell" by UT, it seemed to have happened when they were leaving the company. He's not leaving the company, so I'm interested to see how his character evolves based on his supposed "to hell and back" experience that he will have gone through.
RESPONSE FROM KEVIN ECK: I have not heard how long Edge's hiatus will last.

I'm no Hardy mark, but to say, "It would be inappropriate at this juncture to speculate, but it would be quite a blow to Hardy's career . . . if this turns out to be something serious." is just slanderous reporting. Period.
RESPONSE FROM KEVIN ECK: Thanks for the lesson in responsible journalism. Before posting next time, please take the time to learn the distinction between slander and libel.
The definition is slander is "the UTTERANCE in the presence of another person of a false statement or statements, damaging to a third person's character or reputation, usually distinguished from libel (which is WRITTEN).
As for what I wrote, there is nothing false about it. He has a well-documented history, and it would be a damaging blow to both him and the company if this incident turns out be serious. I am not saying he did or didn't do anything specific, and I also used the word IF. One could reasonably assume that a person involved in an incident at an airport on the surface is something to be concerned about.

Could that report be any more vague?

This report seems to be very vague, as "issue" could be anything froma drug bust to a scuffle with a fellow traveller. I'm surprised that this is the only info that has come out in the last day or so.
I sincerely hope it is something small, as it would be a shame to see Hardy derailed by personal demons again just as the WWE was showing some confidence in him with their recent storyline. I am worried that no matter what the story is, just by the fact that there is any kind of "issue" at this point, the WWE may get cold feet about pushing Hardy to the top and pull the plug on any thoughts of a title run.

How in the world is that considered slanderous reporting? All Kevin said was that if it was something serious, it could be a major blow to Jeff's career and threaten the outcome of the title match. Considering that he prefaced that statement with "It would be inappropriate at this juncture to speculate". Kevin isn't speculating. He is stating a fact - if the incident is something serious, it is very likely that Jeff's career would be negatively impacted.
