Can’t blame Regal this time

I sat down in front of my television at 9 o’clock last night, just as I do every Monday. This time, however, my weekly routine was anything but, as I was greeted by a blank screen.

I proceeded to curse William Regal for pulling the plug on Raw again. They are really taking this thing too far, I thought. After a minute or so, I defiantly turned the channel. It will be my little way of protesting WWE’s current direction. But there wasn’t a picture on that channel either. I frantically began channel surfing, but I came up dry. There was nothing on anywhere.

Who knew Regal’s power was this far-reaching. He had pulled the plug on the entire cable television universe.

Well, no. Actually, my cable was out. And as of 11:30 this morning, it still was. If you live in the Baltimore metro area and have Comcast, there’s a decent chance that you missed Raw as well. The storm yesterday caused quite a few screens to go blank.

Therefore, I regret to say that there will be no blog entry today with my thoughts on last night’s show. I have read a couple recaps from other Web sites, and it sounded like a decent episode.

But fear not. An esteemed colleague — well, maybe he’s not so esteemed, but he is a guy I work with — taped the show for me, although he didn’t get the first 15 minutes. So I will watch the show tonight and post my thoughts tomorrow.

Well Kevin, as a long time reader of your blog...I must warn you of this Raw show. I have been away from WWE and TNA for a while, mostly relying on the net and your blogs to keep me up to speed...but the first Raw I watched was awful. The Michaels-Jericho feud/whatever is awful...trying to make HBK a heel when the crowd is still cheering him is a mistake, and there seem to be no repercussions from Batista who "supposedly" was going to hurt Michaels if he had faked the injury...so expect a run in at Judgement Day seen as he doesnt have a match...Triple H was badly used, as was the Cena-Orton match badly done...when will this poor writing by both TNA and WWE end?

It was a good episode. Jeff Hardy returning was fun.

You missed a good one - WWE put Mickie James in an unprecedented THREE segments, Beth Phoenix beat the holy heck out of Melina, Cade turned on Murdoch, and Randy Orton has a new entrance theme that has had people complaining already.

Kevin the first 15 minutes wasn't much so you didn't miss much. Regal came out and cut a promo then walked around the ring and got a fan who turned out to be Mickie james' friend. Mickie came out and tried to talk Regal into letting him stay. Regal then threaten to Strip Mickie of the woman's title if she didn't leave. So here comes John Cena and out goes Mickie. Cena talked Regal into not turning the lights out. So Regal agreed to keep the lights on all night which he did. So Regal made a match for the main event Cena vs. Orton. Cena tried to get Regal into showing some respect for the fans and Cena said the reason the fans don't respect him is because he doesn't respect the fans.
Could have been a better show I thought. I gotta kick out of Beth beating up Melina so that is where the Triple threat at Judgment Day came from. Even better I thought not having to listen to Triple H run his mouth was great.I am kinda sick of listening to him every week. He showed up at the very end. What I was surprised about was that Raw went of at 11 pm instead of 11:07 like usual. Hope I didn't spoil anything for you.

you might be able to see the whole show on youtube. the jeff hardy return made me mark out. it was great to see him back in the ring you have to check that out for sure.

Holy Moly! Kevin McMahon Jr couldn't get the live feed from his Sis Stephanie?! Heads will roll in Stamford! It must have been that evil witch Dixie Carter! Didn't miss much. As usual. Pretty lame attempt to get Cena some cheap Pop. Then they screw that up by having him TURN DOWN Mickie James for a date!? What, did they steal the metrosexual writers from Sex and the City?

Missing the first 15 minutes is sad, Kevin. Very, very sad. In addition to some great work by both Regal and Cena, Lillian Garcia sang. Twice. And, as always, looked beautiful.

have you been watching the other wwe shows. i cant stand the fact that they are still running with the edge undertaker thing, they had a great chance to shake it up with the title chase matches but they just threw it away. even though i saw it coming from the begining it made me really mad. what do you think about it?
