Divorce news latest blow for Hogan

It’s been a rough few months for Hulk Hogan. In August, his 17-year-old son Nick was in a car crash that left his passenger seriously injured, leading to Nick being charged with reckless driving. Then the news broke last night that Hogan’s wife, Linda Bollea, filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage.

I haven’t written about Nick’s accident and legal problems because I really didn’t think it had anything to do with wrestling. My first reaction was to not write about last night’s news either, but Hogan is perhaps the most famous wrestler of all-time and his marital problems actually could impact the wrestling business.

Like his old rival Ric Flair, Hogan, 54, potentially could end up losing half his fortune in the divorce, which might lead him back to wrestling in search of another big payday. Hopefully he won’t lose the rights to his wrestling name in the divorce settlement like Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat did.

Reports that the Hogans were having marital problems have been in gossip columns and on celebrity Web sites for a while, and the possibility of a split was the focal point of the past season of Hogan Knows Best, the VH1 reality series.

Most wrestling observers believed the marital strife on the show was scripted, or to use wrestling vernacular, a “work,” but maybe it was real after all. Or, perhaps the Hogans have joined other married couples in the wrestling business who separated in real life after acting out scripted marital problems in a story line. That list includes Steve and Debra McMichael, Kevin and Nancy Sullivan, Marc and Rena “Sable” Mero and Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly.

Maybe He knows he is going to loose a lot of money when the accident lawsuit comes along and wants some of his money safe

I think Linda and Brooke will be better off without Hulk Hogan, I watched the t.v. series, and he is way out of line with his daughter and it's ridiculouse how he acts when men come around to date the daughter. He's so overbearing.

They seemed so happy. What is wrong with these women? They have everything.

wow i never saw it coming except on that one episode when they got help..... but it ended bad
seroiusly i dont think anyone saw it coming

To Hulk Hogan & his wife Linda, Please work it out!

This is sad. While I have never been a big fan of wrestling, Hulk Hogan is an American icon, and I admit to watching his reality show from time to time. I thought this was a fairly stable family (as far as the entertainment world goes...) and he clearly loves his wife and children.
I wish them the best, and hope that we don't see yet another messy public divorce being used as tabloid fodder...

terry and linda may have fallen prey to overexposure in the media. perhaps the best course of action is for them to step out of the spotlight and into a counselors office. for the sake of families that have enjoyed watching them, scripted or not, I hope that they will get back to making each other a priority.

Linda, way to let Terry know you filed for divorce. A reporter had to tell him, when it should've come from you. nice

Linda, There are millions of couples with worse problems and somehow have worked it out together. Give a little more and try to keep your marriage together. You have everything and you just don't know how to appreciate it. Sincere communication might help save your marriage. Good Luck

lets be realistic! you could see this coming for a long time. linda is a typical woman who never worked a day in her life who always knew that if times got rough she could always fallback on hulks money!

Most of you woman reply in the typical
"NO,stay with him(he's rich)
you guys can work it out.(you'll have to get a real job)"And if this is "REAL",
I think HE has his bases covered.
side note: He is a very smart man,I also believe that he will retain a LARGE portion of HIS wealth.

Have watched the show and all I can say is good for Hulk! Get away from all of it as far away as you can. That family doesn't appreciate anything the man does or has tried to do for them. Period! Who works in that family other then the Hulkster? Spoiled little rich kids have to go to work now. I see Nick at BK or McD's. Brooke will be in Playboy soon after the divorce. And for attention mom will have the fat sucked off her so she can do a mother/daughter spread in Playboy, for the attention. It's amazing what happens to the human ego once the spotlight shines on you. Let's see the Hogan family make it on their own. LOL

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thanks for the laugh. Brooke is a no-talent singer who only got signed because of who she is, or really who her father is. Linda is a complete fool and doesn't do anything to wash away the typical "blonde" stereotype.

It's interesting to note that Linda married Hulk in 1984 which happened to be the year that Hulkamania took off. Who knows what would have happened if the Iron Sheik hadn't lost the Champonship belt to Hogan back in January 1984. The Sheik is probably better off at this point.

Hogan is a genuine man. Hogan also has a big heart. His body has taking the beatings of his carreer to nurture his family. What has Linda and Brooke done?? I just feel that Linda has lost herself. Think about where you came from. And when you had no money. If you leave Hogan, you have LOST! What America loves is a family that stays true and strong to there name especially at times like now when things get rough.

Maybe "The Bounty Hunter" will return to A&E. Linda could be Beth's stunt double.

I hope they both end up on the streets after they pay the damages claim. I hate them and I hate their money, cause I am a loser and I ain't got any.

Wow, just heard it today, I am in total shock! Been watching the series and love it, Hogan has such a big heart and great MORALS which is something many parents are missing nowadays. I can't believe how so many people are coming down on the kids, they are good kids! Linda...Terry... try to work it out, the grass is not that green on the other side!!! You guys are a great icon. For better or worse, don't take the easy way out!

I think that if Linda is going to divorce the Hulk then she deserves what she has contributed monetarily which is absolutely nothing. She hasn't been the one to sacrifice her body or make any of the money, Hulk has. I think it's ridiculous that these wives think they are entitled to any money who sit around and spend the money that thier husbands make. Get a life and make your own money you golddiggers.

I think what has happened is common when couples don't spend a lot of time together, and then have to after a career ends. How much time did Hulk and Linda spend together while he was active? Now he's home all the time, and they figured out they really didn't like each other after all. Was classless of her not to tell him it was coming though. Hope maybe they can work it out, hate to see this happen, even though I can't stand Hogan.

I think Linda should think twice before going thru' with her filing divorce. Life is not that easy and it is true all the the wealth came from Hulk's hard work and he has been thru's a tough times making sure the family live well. I am sure they both have gone thru' sweet and bad times together and it is sad to see they split after all those years together! Try to work it out and compromise!

There might be a divorce, but I think they have a plan. I love them both. I also think that Hulk will be sued for almost everything he's got over the tragic accident with Nick's friend. If I were in their shoes, I'd divorce too if it meant that I was going to lose everything that I worked so hard to get.
It's not Hulk/Linda's fault that Nick made a bad choice. Unfortunately his parents are also the ones that will be
paying the price. And one last thing, I'm sure The Hogan's would help Nick's friend/family out in any way they could.

Hulk Hogan is one the biggest ego maniacs ever to step foot on this planet. Looks good on him to lose some of his coin. Linda Bolea for sure is thinking she had better get all she can and get out before Nick's accident costs them everything they own. Which would look good on them. Brooke is totally screwed now that Daddy has pulled the plug on her career. Speak of dysfunctional families, this is the biggest one ever. As far as Hulk appearing at Wrestlemania, I think it would ruin the program. Stick with Stone Cold. He is the winner when it comes to wrestling.

I have read that Hulk Hogan supplied the beer to Nick and his friends the night of Nick's accident. If this is true, Hulkamania just blew itself up as far as I am concerned. Not only is he egotistical, but he is the biggest fool ever. Does this mean he has been duping the public since he became famous. This is probably another reason for his wife to leave. Step up Hogan, and beg Vince for more money so you can have more to give Nick's poor passenger that will never get to enjoy his life that was taken from him because of your foolishness in giving the boys beer.
So what ya gonna do when divorcimania runs wild on you?

God bless all the family. I have never looked at one of these blogs and am shocked to see how cruel and judgemental people can be. Im sorr y for the problems the family is facing but after watching thier show it seems to me they are good people and all love one another. But like the rest of us human beings have difficult times. Take care Hogans and keep loving one another even in the hardest of times you each are going through things and your family are the only others that will always be there for you!

That not Good.....................................

I said it when the Hogan Knows Best first started. "This is going to ruin their marriage". And to my horror it is true. It makes me sad that when their marriage was at its most fragile point, They were stuck doing a "show" and could not step back and breathe while they tried to fix their marriage. It makes me mad people at VH1 could not use common sense (or decency) to put a halt on production so that this couple could lick their wounds and try to fix it without the world watching. Some things are better left between a husband and a wife. When are we as Americans going to stop feeding off of the lives of these celebrities and let them be. Anyone with any kind of good sense knows that the last thing a rocky marriage needs is spectators. I wish there was a way for the Boleas' to work this thing out. They have a beutiful family and they've beeen together for so long. It is just a shame they can't put more into saving their marriage. I'm sure that with Nicks current problems the stress level is enormous, and they are making a rash decision that will impact them longer and harder down the road. They need to stop the divorce and regroup. At least until Nick is squared away. This can't be easy for this family and I pray that they find some peace in their lives.

Mr hogan is to be blamed for his son's wreckless driving habits also. After all he was with his son when stopped by police for speeding. He was let go and then stopped again within 19 miles for speeding again. Don't tell me being the son of a famous person as nothing to do with special treatment by the law. Nick needs to do his time and stop crying. Maybe he will stop speeding.
