Great American Bash thoughts
There are some fans who just don’t like John Cena and they never will, which is fine because everyone is entitled to their opinion. But those who criticize him as being a bad worker must be seeing something different than I’m seeing.
I’m the first to admit that Cena is not a ring general, but he usually delivers an entertaining main event match. When in the ring with top-level workers such as Shawn Michaels, Edge and Triple H, Cena has more than held up his end in some outstanding matches. But Cena also has had good matches with guys like The Great Khali and his opponent at last night’s Great American Bash pay-per-view, Bobby Lashley.
Cena is clearly the top star in the business, and I like that WWE has been putting him over strong month after month on pay-per-view. I was a little surprised that he pinned Lashley clean last night, but I can’t disagree with the decision. By having Cena turn back every challenge and overcome the odds, it should make it that much more of a big deal when someone (Randy Orton?) does defeat him for the title. …
I’m not a big fan of Umaga as a character, but – like Cena – he is better in the ring than he is given credit for. His match against Jeff Hardy, in which Umaga successfully defended the Intercontinental title, was one of the highlights of the show. To me, “The Samoan Bulldozer” comes across as much more of a force than TNA’s “Samoan Submission Machine.” …
I hope that Matt Hardy’s pinfall loss to U.S. champion MVP doesn’t mean that Hardy’s push as a singles wrestler is over. …
So, Hornswoggle is the new WWE cruiserweight champion. I’m sure he will carry the title with the same dignity and honor of past cruiserweight champions such as Oklahoma (Ed Ferrara), Daffney, Madusa, Jacquelyn and Chavo Classic.

Why is this in the sports section? Shouldn't it be in the entertainment section? This isn't a "sport". I find it intetresting how you report it though "..... surprised how he pinned Lashley clean..." its scripted, dude. Get a grip! totally unreal!
They should move this and poker out of the sports section!
Just my opinion.

Umaga is pretty good. The problem with Samoa Joe is that TNA has made him relatively impotent compared to his ring style in Ring of Honor (this is the very popular indie fed that bred the likes of AJ Styles, Homicide, CM Punk, Alex Shelley, etc.).
Joe back then was awesome, but the TNA booking style is kinda silly, and that's saying a lot considering how incredibly dumb WWE booking has been over the last 4 years.

I was disappointed in the Dusty/Orton match. I thought that it would have gone 20-25 minutes and someone would have worn the "crimson mask". I understand why a 61 year-old man couldn't go too long, but I was disappointed in the lack of offense that the Dream got in.
Cena/Lashley was a legit main event and I felt as though I got my money's worth based on that match alone. I was on the edge of my seat with every near fall. With the prospect of congress looking into the business, there's no one else that I as a fan would rather see publicly representing WWE than Cena. He very well could be the most important WWE champ of all time. Can you imagine Austin representing the company on Larry King? They're lucky to have Cena, and, in my opinion, they would be crazy to take the belt off of him anytime before WrestleMania.
Kevin maybe you can address this, but what on earth does Lashley do in the ring? Cena's offense is obviously limited, but at least clotheslines and punches are oft-seen moves. I've never seen anything that Lashley does before. It seems as though he has no idea what to do to fill in between the big moves. He wanders around aimlessly, he picks his opponent up but doesn't seem to know what to do with him, so he just sort of throws him around!
If his finish is the spear, why does he insist on using those shoulder thrusts in the corner? Doesn't that weaken the "specialness" of his finisher?
