Rex Ryan still the shy, retiring type
Poor Rex Ryan. If the New York Jets coach would only come out of his shell once in a while.
Now the leader of the Jets' three-ring circus is sporting a brand new tattoo on one leg. And it's not exactly a tiny, unobtrusive tat, either.
No, this is one of those tattoos you can see from the International Space Station, an elaborate affair that takes up most of his lower leg and features random Chinese lettering or dragons or -- well, I'm not exactly sure what the hell it is.
But it looks like the sort of thing you'd find on a disaffected 16-year-old skateboarder, not a fleshy, middle-aged coach who has taken his team to the AFC title game in his first two seasons in the Big Apple.
Ryan has promised to reveal the meaning of the tattoo today -- I know, I know, you can't wait for the press conference. I hope they carry it live.
In any event, the former Ravens defensive coordinator told the New York media he got the tattoo while on vacation in Hawaii last month. And he said he got it from the same guy who inked his two earlier tattoos.
Thankfully, from what I hear, none of the reporters present asked Ryan to show off those tattoos, which showed incredible restraint on the part of the normally-howling jackals in the press corps.
Left up for debate was whether this was a cool move on Ryan's part to connect with his young, equally-tatted players or a pathetic attempt by an aging ball coach to recapture a sliver of his youth.
I'd vote for door no. 2, except nobody asked me.

This might be the stupidiest article I've ever read, not to mention your closed minded BS. Don't judge people because they have tattoos. Who are you to say that this belongs on a 16 year old skateboarder? Are you saying if you are an NFL coach, you aren't aloud to get a tattoo? The biggest idiot can see chinese lettering isn't present. Who cares what the meaning is? It probably means something to him, regardless of the reason. Here's a piece of advice, don't worry yourself with what the tattoo on Rex Ryan's leg means, write something worth reading.
